Be very wary on relying on digital coupons!

Be very wary on relying on digital coupons and the app!

Contrary to the information on their website - support confirmed you will never know if it will use the best activated coupon (as stated on their website) or oldest activated depending on the retailer.

When making a bigger purchase they might just randomly decide this transaction to be an exception and give you less points than expected!

It is also not possible to get into an email dialogue with support, as the email address they use does not accept replies.

No extra points in the amount of 4500…

No extra points in the amount of 4500 were credited for my purchase. When i contacted the customer service, they told me i had not activated the coupon. I specifically waited a day to be able to activate the coupon before I made my purchase of 600€ so i am 100% sure i activated the coupon. App and website showed that the coupon was activated on the day of purchase. There is no way to prove it now since the app does not provide the list of in the past activated coupons. They do not take the responsibility for their system not working properly and then make you feel like a liar. Not a nice experience.

Garbage company!!!

No answer from this company for over a year about my forgotten PIN.

I use a password manager for my login details so I know my password or number isn't wrong but they won't let me login. I click "passwort vergessen", but I never get an email to change anything!

I called their service number, but the automatic answer just tells me that my card is now blocked for 24 hours!!

What kind of service is this?!?!

Cannot login

Website (Firefox or Safari): Cannot login, not with correct pin, password or data. I can change my password/pin but the new one then doesn't work either! Absolutely useless.

My solution: once password has been changed, login with the payback app, and redeem points via that. Forget the stupid website.

Almost impossible to contact customer service

Almost impossible to contact customer service. The only option is a one-way contact form with limited options. If there's a follow-up question from Payback, there is no way to refer to your old enquiry. For example I received such an email asking for "more details", and the options are to fill up the contact form again, call them or send a post. Without telling me what are the "more details" needed".

So I tried calling them. First they use "voice recognition" and you have to say your customer number. Either they're tuned to a specific "German accent" or very bad software, but out of 10 times I tried I managed to pass it. Then it asked for my Geburtsdatam again through voice, luckily I passed. Then it asked for my Postleitzahl, and somehow I failed and the whole process terminates. It keeps repeating "Payback is sicher", but this feels like a poor excuse for not employing real customer service personnel and using poor methods and software to prevent customers from contacting you.

Not worth the stress, I'll just use up the rest of my points and terminate it.

I'm pretty sure the reply here from Payback, asking me to contact them for help. Yeah, that's the point - it's impossible to actually contact them.

Locked out from the stinker payback.de

No matter how I try (User number + password, birth date + address, then it says: we are protected byreCAPTCHA - which never shows up; I have password forgotten -> "Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten") it is simply impossible to log in to use my many points. I have tried both Firefox and Chrome to no avail.

Es sieht genau wie Täuschung aus - it looks exactly like swindle.

20,000 points stolen…

Today I saw that 20,000 points were stolen in a REAL in the middle of August, a store that I have not visited in the past 12 months. Then my account was deactivated for 1 month as their system noticed something fishy was going on. However, I could not reactivate it until today as their automatic calling system just hang up on my calls after providing my kontonummer. Today the call went through and their customer support told me that it is my fault because my password was not safe... Zero responsibility for their fraudulent system in 2020. They do not even have 2 step verification process in place and they accept payments, deal with huge amount of sensitive personal data...What a joke. Looking forward to see the German authorities take action.

+Additional information: Did not receive any sort of notification about these purchases worth 200EUR while I get notification about 5 EUR Rewe purchases...

+2nd update: Had a call with Payback customer service and my request for detailed information about the transactions was denied. The customer support agent also denied to provide her name and hung up 2 times in a row. This is a clear violation of GDPR lawsuit is coming to your direction Payback.

Great customer support

I am very positively surprised! One of my dm coupons was not automatically applied, so I wrote a message on a Sunday complaining about it. 24h later it was responded and Payback reimbursed me for the missing extra points! Very pleased!

A company without customer support channels

It's a great idea and works well if you don't face a problem. You gain and expend points in various ways.
But now I found that the company have no customer support channel at all. It became a even more serious problem since they started to deal with money direct from users accounts, by using with their PaybackPay product.
