So far, so good. Although we haven't yet started advertising our website in order to bring sales to it, which we will soon, the entire Paymill process until getting my account live was long (not gonna lie), but honestly, much needed! I would do exactly the same if I were in their position.
All the nay sayers in here should really start to put themselves in Paymill's position, and see things from their perspective. Of course they're not going to release funds and pay you guys out unless they have all things in check from you, so, whatever documents Paymill will request from you whilst going through the activation process, believe me, they're as relevant as they get. They could as easily accept every application and not request for as many documents as they do, but hey, people, they will get in trouble for doing that, and guess what... so will you!
So, in conclusion, please think twice before writing a bad review on them, as all they're trying to do is keep everything 100% legal and trustworthy, and for me, that couldn't be more of a reason to trust them with my upcoming funds and hopefully build a strong and meaningful collaboration with them.

We run our business via Shopify and experience with Paymill was just perfect. Quick and useful communication, always ready to help and solve anything we had trouble with. Great job!

Paymill: Simply, it’s ridiculous. How I get to this conclusion? Read below.
I fought for more than 5 months to get my account activated, and then my brain just blowed up.
Here is how it happened:
• They asked for several contracts, several proofs about my legal business. I had to make a contract even with my importer, who is not really existing because I am dropshipping. It was painful to find somebody who signs a Supplier Agreement.
• I had to send this Supplier Agreement to them on my money.
• I had to send them another bunch of contracts on my money, because they forget out something from the package.
• After this I had to translate my business certificate to English and certify by a notary. The real issue started here. My business certificate is released by the Government of Hungary (my country). Is absolutely legal. The legal translator office translated my already legal business certificate with the stamp of the government, and they told me that is non-sense to give it to a notary, because the governmental stamp is above the notary stamp, legally.
Anyhow, an official translation agency can certify a business certificate in Europe. Germany is in Europe as well. So I have a legal and legally translated f*$"#**g legal business document at this point.
• I forwarded the translated document (with the governmental and agency stamp) to Paymill, and they pushed back with the reason that there is no notary stamp on it. After explaining the stuff above, their answer it was that: it’s a mandatory. For who?
• And then, I got very upset, and told them that you can go to hell, with my 50$ blocked in my account. (and with the other ~80-90$ what I spent on them)
• Anyhow, they have a 350 euro threshold, below which they do not pay you out. So you have to collect at least 350 euro before your first payment, but you will never get activated. Hahaha. Is this a reliable business model? You have to invest in your payment gateway to get paid out somehow?
• Simply, it’s ridiculous. So Paymill can go to hell. I do not recommend to use them, even if it’s very simply to register, and they have no monthly fees.
never release funds
I have been talking and fighting with them for 4 months to get them to release my funds, they allow you to open an account quickly to get your money, then start making up issues to hold it in their accounts for as long as possible, at the time of writing they have nearly put my business under as they will not release 25k of funds for petty reasons, They’ve rejected my signature 3 times to the point where I had to pay to get 2 notaries done for them to ‘believe me’ - just a scam to keep my money in their accounts longer. AVOID

Ton of paperwork to verify my account and after spending a week receive "Your product not supported" without any explanation! You must be kidding me! AVOID THIS SCAM !!!

Get ready for insane paperwork, frustrating setup and huge response delays
Painstaking and frustrating account set up. Response times were 3-4 days at a minimum with automated answers disallowing for any solution whatsoever. On top of that, they were fully closed at xmas for 15days+ with no response besides "we'll get back to you after Jan 5th". Unacceptable for a platform which manages business accounts and funds. The result is that I've spent 6 weeks waiting for a setup, which another gateway I applied for did in 3 days and without the insane paperwork Paymill has asked me to provide. I asked to delete my application and sent me a copy of all my personal information - as they are obliged under GDPRegulation. Of course, they haven't responded back. Unprofessionalism at its finest.

All good (so far)...
I applied for a merchant account at the beginning of this month after being refused by other two payment providers (Braintree and 2Checkout. Braintree denied our application after 30 days of waiting with no follow up).
I need to confess that I read all the english 1* reviews and I don't find them relevant so far, for these two reasons:
1. Customers service is normal (which means fast, pro, clean and neat process).
2. Their registering requirements seem fair to me.
I do have some concerns regarding the Rolling Reserve & Transfer Schedule, but I'm confident we will reach a fair resolution.

Quick and professional
The company is very professional and quick to respond. They are one of the few payment providers who offer a seamless checkout integration in Shopify. This is a HUGE plus.
UPDATE: They went bankrupt and they still owe me some money for more than 3 years now.

Terrible, not answering e-mails, not paying money without any obvious reason, and without even trying to give explanation. We had (luckily) only one transaction with them, and after almost 4 months they didn't pay!! Not even trying to give some normal explanation. Big dislike for such unprofessional scam company.
