No buyer protection
I've used PayPal for over thirty years, with few problems...until now.
A fraudulent transaction against a Chinese company was ruled in their favor. The items were never recieved, and I lost money.
There is NO buyer protection.
I will be taking most of my transactions elsewhere.

I'm surprised by so many bad reviews. I've been using PayPal for years now, and they still suit me well. Never had any problems.
Paypal are not interested in helping BUYERS
I purchased 2 x tickets from a company called Travel Up Ltd, the flight was on Qatar airways. The day before flight I went on the airways website and found that my flight had been cancelled due to airport closure because of the Iran War. I tried to contact Travel Up but there was nothing available, they had made sure you couldn't email, telephone or live chat.
I filed a dispute with Paypal and explained that I had nothing given to me to say the flight was cancelled apart from a general notice on Qatar airways website cancelling the flight and then removed.
Paypal came back to me asking for proof of cancellation (which I had already told them was not available), so they duly found in favour of the seller and closed the case. There was no route to appeal but I eventually managed to get past the bot and spoke to a supposed Customer Services and all she did was tell me the seller had responded by confirming that they had filled all "their obligations" so the case was closed and nothing could be done about my £1572.27, apart from me contacting Action Fraud. So I write this to say that I will be closing all my Paypal accounts will be closed. I would say DONOT open a account with Paypal or use them for payments, there is no support for the buyer.

Frustrating customer service
I’ve been with PayPal for eight years and was very satisfied until recently. Customer service has steadily declined in the past year. Calls are now taken by AI which probably works well for simple issues and I appreciate the fact it’s easy to understand. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work well for more complicated issues. Thankfully, they’ve made is easy to reach a live agent. Agents have always been professional, friendly and eager to help. This is obvious by their tone of voice, however, their English is so broken, it’s almost impossible to understand them which is beyond frustrating for both parties. PayPal has now made it so agents can no longer transfer customers to a supervisor or another agent; you now have to wait for someone to call you back within 24hrs; which may or may not come at a convenient time. The main reason I called them at the time I did was because that was a time that I, as the customer, found convenient. It should be the other way around. When filling out the form to open a case, it’s unclear if you’re asking PayPal or the merchant for a refund. I made a purchase on their 4 part installment plan. After making two payments, I requested a refund due to not receiving my order or any communication with the seller. I requested the wrong amount for a refund by including only the payments I’d made instead of the entire amount. PayPal did not catch this and it was the seller that notified me of my error. It was impossible to go back and correct this through PayPal. My two payments were refunded and, according to an email from PayPal would be credited back to my method of payment. When this did not happen within a reasonable amount of time, I learned PayPal had received the incorrect amount for the refund even though I copied and sent them everything I had pertaining to the case. They then applied this amount to my remaining two payments which were not due yet and closed my case. This left me not only frustrated, it made me feel as if PayPal assumed I would not pay the remaining two payments. My payment history on the many times I’ve used their installment plan clearly indicate I’ve never missed, been late on or simply not made a payment. It’s impossible to reopen or add info once the case is closed either through their app. or through customer service reps. no matter the circumstances. Customer service rep had access to all the info. I had included for the case and understood the issue yet could do nothing but tell me someone would call back within 24hrs. Their only suggestion was that I email the seller which I did and I’m now waiting to see if that will be helpful in obtaining the rest of my refund.
My other complaint is regarding PayPal’s debit card. Customers have the option of locking the card yet PayPal allows charges to go through even though card is locked and I’ve clearly indicated in my payment preferences that I want my checking account and my debit card attached to that account to be used as my payment method. Very frustrating that I now have to replace money that should never have been charged to my PayPal debit. I’m begun documenting the times this happens and since I don’t have much hope of PayPal remedying this, I will file a complaint with the Attorney Generals office,
As other reviews clearly show, PayPal customer service is not what it used to be and the problems a customer runs into now outweigh the convenience and ease of using PayPal making me seriously consider closing my account.

Inhuman Company
I am writing as a customer to raise a serious concern regarding reports and posts I have seen, including on LinkedIn, suggesting that employees may have been dismissed or penalised for expressing humanitarian views, including opposition to war and support for the rights and safety of people in Palestine, Congo, and other affected nations and communities.
As a customer, this does not sit well with me.
I believe that humanity must come before commercial relationships. I do not wish to support, receive services from, or remain connected to a company whose actions appear to conflict with basic humanitarian values, freedom of conscience, and the right of people to express peaceful concern about war, suffering, and injustice outside the workplace.
To be clear, my concern is not about party politics. It is about the principle that people should not be punished for saying no to war or for showing peaceful support for vulnerable people and communities experiencing conflict, displacement, or oppression.
Unless PAYPAL.com can clearly demonstrate that these concerns are inaccurate, or explain what steps are being taken to protect employees’ rights to hold and express lawful humanitarian views, I will have to reconsider my position as a customer and any future use of PayPal's services. PayPal is anti-palestine I find that unsettling and disgraceful.
Humanity comes first. Commercial convenience comes second.

Complaint about PayPal’s unjustified decision in favor of the seller
I purchased a key for a Google AI subscription, but I was unable to redeem it because the website stated that the key had already been used. This means the product provided was invalid and unusable.
Despite this, PayPal decided in favor of the seller without providing a clear, detailed, or reasonable explanation based on the evidence submitted. This is extremely frustrating, especially because the seller pressured me to close the dispute in order to “resolve” the issue, and after I did so in good faith, they simply stopped replying.
As a result, I was left without a working product, without a replacement, and without a refund. Even so, PayPal chose to protect the seller, ignoring behavior that appears clearly suspicious and harmful to the buyer.
I find it unacceptable that a platform claiming to offer buyer protection repeatedly decides in favor of sellers without properly explaining the criteria used, without fairly assessing the evidence provided, and without ensuring a just resolution.
I request that this decision be reviewed by a responsible person, with a proper assessment of the evidence submitted, including proof that the key had already been redeemed and that the seller stopped replying after convincing me to close the dispute.
I also request a concrete explanation of why PayPal decided in favor of the seller, despite the fact that I did not receive a functional product or any alternative solution.
Abysmal non existent customer service…
Abysmal non existent customer service as always from Paypal, I returned itemspaid for by Paypal to Massimo Dutti and tracked online they had been received, seller ignored all of my emails and messages so I rang Paypal who opened a case on my behalf stating "items were not as described" which is NOT what I said, this case has dragged on for over a month only to be closed in sellers favour as items not found to be not as described???, in the intervening time the seller rang to tell me to close the case and they would issue the refund, rang Paypal who told me NOT to close they case and now they close the case in sellers favour, rang and spoke to the most condescending and patronising adviser, a term I use in its most loosest sense, who talked and talked about how I had no right to expect them to help me when I had not taken pictures of the items that I had returned a month before I had actually even contacted them, why would I????, utter utter rubbish.

No buyer protection.
I thought paying through PayPal would afford me some sort of protection.
But no I was wrong.
Bought made to measure blinds paid using PayPal.
One of the blinds was made bigger than measurements given.
Had trouble with company getting a replacement as their error.
So went to paypal for help.
But despite showing PayPal copy of my order and a photo showing my blind along side a tape measure to prove blind wrong size, PayPal found in favour of seller as " it's was a similar item to what I ordered."
Well similar does not fit if not the correct size !!!
The only reason I used paypal was for buyer protection, not anymore
