PayPal Reviews 

PayPal made an unauthorized payment for a donation to somebody in the USA. I happend to see it in advance. So I requested them several times not to transfer the money. But a day later they transferred the money anyway increased with bankcharges. They advise me to ask the money back from the person to whom the money was transferred, So despite my clear and repeated request not to transfer the money. That is what I call an unauthorized banktransfer from mine PayPal balance.
The communication of PayPal is miserable. I received 20 emails within a few days, even several mails within a few minutes probably madeautomatically by bot machines. There is not any possibility to argue with them. They do not listen at all to my arguements. They lay down a decision, which is not at all documented or covered by hard facts. Anyway they do not take any responsibility and are acting extremely unfriendly. So my advice is do not open a PayPal account. They are not reliable.

I forgot my password and security questions.
I looked very well for the answer to this problem but the website offers no solution. This meant I had to call customer services. I took me ages to be able to speak to a person because I kept getting useless answers and being rerouted by the phone bot. Both the people on the phone where hard to understand in English because of heavy accents (my English is on fluent level). They also struggled to understand me. It took a 25 minute phone call to Canada, from The Netherlands, which cost me 15 euro, to get my password reset. Why is this so difficult, time consuming and expensive in an age where security questions are super outdated and everyone forgets their password once in a while? And why does such a big international company only have a Canadian phone number to call?

Unfortunately I have to use Paypal for my artist account on Bandcamp. Otherwise I'm not going to use this service anymore.

Extremely expensive. Most certain the mist expensive and slowest way of payment. If you can avoid, do not use this

Although it speaks for itself that paypal apparently doesnt care about their costumers, just by looking at the fact they havent replied to any of the (negative) reviews here. I would just like to add a bad review as a warning for other people like you and me. This company does whatever they want with YOUR money, contacting support will only get you frustrated, since they dont know anything, they will just tell you they "forwarded it to internal department" which is, of course, not available to talk with directly... DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY

I've received items announced as wood but in plastic and paypal did what, nothing! I was supposed to pay 50€ to send it back meaning more than the actual price. So I receive fake item and I have to pay for return? Waw thanks. I delivered proofs (screenshots taken from announcement and everything and actual item). I feel like they have a nice deal with aliexpress and ignore problems when it happens. And it's not my first negative experience, in Europe as well.

On top of that, the only function they get rid of is what is costing them money: return refunds (which was already limited to 12 anyway). But tell me, why would we pay for a service like PayPal then? It's worse and worse!
Conclusion: arrividaci! I trust better my bank. IDeal is my way to go now. After 15 years, goodbye.

This site sucks. It's pretty easy to put money in your account (seconds if not minutes), the money they charge for transfers is ridiculous and it takes close to a week to transfer money back into your bank. Terribile service!

Terrible experience with support. Conversion rate was improperly applied to transaction and support was completely unhelpful, often ignoring messaged or just not reading them. Do not send money in different currencies over Paypal.

620€ package was declared delivered to me by postage service, yet it was delivered to my neighbour. Paypal gave 0 response as it was “delivered” to “me”, even after providing proof it was delivered at neighbour. Case has been resolved by Police & Court 1.5 years later. Never again will I use Paypal in my life, one of those companies you need to avoid.

Scum & Scam company, what else is there to say? Removed my account there right now, what a sad company. No protection whatsoever.

PayPal does not check whether the charge has been approved. Fortunately I lost 2 euros and 5.99, but their communication about this sucks. I have kicked paypal out of my payment system. Submitting a refund is a disaster while they themselves cause the error

I work overseas and when I try to log in on my paypal app it asks to verify my identity with an sms. A lot of times I don't have any reception and when I do it's quite expensive to receive a sms. I tried to switch it off but paypall decides that it's necessary to send me an sms. The option for a code via email is not present. And when you try to contact customer service you end up on a website with dumb questions with stupid answers and the question that you have is not there. It never is, is it? So you want to talk to somebody. You can call them, IM OVERSEAS YOU IDIOT, HOW CAN I CALL?!?!? It's 2023, where is your chat? Right Facebook messenger, oh no! IT'S A FREACKING ROBOT THAT ONLY UNDERSTANDS 3 SENTENCES! So after some digging on the website you get the option to send an email. BUT FIRST YOU NEED TO LOG IN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Horrible company that sadly gets forced on everyone to use since there are literally ZERO alternatives.
Have been trying to add back a card that was removed from NO reason and it keeps getting declined.

I wish there was an option of zero stars, because one is too much. Just found out PayPal decided to hold the money I received as gift. None of the reasons described by them fits my situation, they suggest to add tracking number but I did not sell anything so there’s no point of tracking number, and therefore I can’t get the money until I call them which can only be in few days as they don’t work on weekends. The gift was sent so I can go to a concert, which I missed because they are holding my money, it was first time in months that I could go, they ruined my weekend and chance to have a rest from really difficult times. I wonder how they are going to make up for that.

They keep taking money from my account, what is this?!!!! I by now payed €30 for 2 internetcables that cast with sending just 10,08. It stays in dept and nothing is fixed. What if this was like 1500 euros? I will never trust this app again and give me my **** money back you thieves.

Paypal closes accounts with thousands of euro's as balance without any reason, refuse to provide a reason and they even refuse to refund my money.

I tried to pay in some money to my account and they are gone. Service 'can't do anything about it'. Thieves!

We needed to pay €121 transaction costs on a payment that was returned to our customer. This feels illegal. Don't use this as a payment option on your website - NEVER! Why isn't this company banned already?
