Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the product assessment process, frequently reporting that their devices were undervalued or rejected for reasons such as "burn in bruising" or not being factory reset, even when customers believed their phones were in perfect condition. Reviewers also expressed frustration with the lack of transparency regarding how to check for these issues before sending in their devices. Some people were dissatisfied with the return of their devices, noting that phones were sometimes returned with new damage or that the returned item was not as expected. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the refund process, stating that they received the estimated trade-in value and found the process efficient and honest.

No issues, great efficient service.

After reading some reviews on here and other places, I was a a bit skeptical as to wether I made the right choice using Googles trade in option.

But I had absolutely no issues. Reviced the return box on the Wednesday, popped in the post box Thursday and received my credit on the Monday.

PCS wireless Australia

I was worried when I sent my Pixel 7a to PCS wireless here in Australia after reading all the negative reviews. They just sent me an email stating that they have examined my device its value matches the estimate.

Never again

Never again. Sent them an immaculate Pixel 8 that had lived in a high quality case with a screen protector all it's life. Worked great, never damaged and was a very reluctant trade in. Bubble wrapped, boxed, up etc and sent back via their delivery method. Just got back the report to say screen has significant damage and was valued at £0. Clearly, I, like many others have been scammed by Google's trade in policy when you buy a new device. I would never buy or trust Google/PCS Wireless again as a result. I have no clue if damaged in transit or someone at PCS broke it but I do know I have been scammed.

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Claimed screen has burn-in bruising - RUBBISH!! LIARS!!

Traded my Pixel 7 Pro for a Pixel 10. The estimate was £418 but I am being paid £326. They are claiming the screen has burn-in bruising. What a load of rubbish. The phone was pristine. In a case with screen protector from day 1. I took a video of it before I sent it off. I should have done my research first. Shame on Google for using such a dishonest company.

Great service, Prompt updates

Great service. I recently traded my old Pixel phone for a new one.

PCS Wireless examined the device that I submitted for trade-in, and found that its value either matches or is more than the original estimate.

What made the experience more satisfying was the regular updates from the moment the old device is shipped till the moment money was credited.

Positive experience

Positive experience. Traded in pixel 8 pro which had been in a case with a good screen protector as soon as it came out of the box. So absolutely no damage. Phone was therefore in 'new' condition. Sent to PCS, 2 days later it arrived and day after got an email that they would refund the estimated amount (€279). 2 days later the amount was in my account.

Awful company

Dishonest company. Traded in a perfectly good samsung flip 5 phone for google phone. LCD display! Apparently. The phone returned and I have not got a working phone to even sell on or trade in elsewhere. Just a blank screen. You can see its been tampered with. Google need to sack these off as it could affect their reputation. Terrible company. Pics have been sent to google. I will wait to see the response.

Very dishonest company and Google…

Very dishonest company and Google should stop using them.

I bought a Pixel 10 phone and Pixel 3 watch at considerable expense direct from Google and one of the reasons I chose Google was because they were running a promotional deal on trade ins. I sent the phone in and it was sent back to me having been rejected because the body was "damaged". There was nothing wrong with the phone other than light scratches to the screen. The receipt also stated that the phone hadn't reached the minimum required trade in value. That was a ludicrous statement because the phone was never going to meet the minimum value as I had been offered a value that was way above market rate. I spoke to Google who informed me that all decisions are final and there is no questioning them.

So I feel that I was drawn in to buying a phone and watch under false pretenses. I was promised a value which was then not delivered and then I am not allowed to question it.

Do not use anyone that uses PCS Wireless as a third party.

Writing this because I think the poor…

Writing this because I think the poor reviews are uncalled for. Had no issue getting the money that was quoted to me after sending my phone in, they inspected and paid me within two days of sending it.
I think most people are forgetting to remove certain accounts, like their Google account form the phone, and removing all locks on their phone before factory resetting it. This is customer errors not PCS, so if you follow instructions properly, you will get paid. Just my personal experience, as the poor reviews almost put me off, but couldn't have been easier.

It's a con. Don't trade in your phone.

Unsurprisingly PCS Wireless have not claimed this page..I wonder why they are pretending not to know it exists.
Traded in 3 x Pixel 7as -two perfect - no scratches, no damage and 1 with a broken screen (dropped) but worked perfectly. Reported all of this when they were traded in and offered £198 x 2 and £143 for the broken screen one.

PCS did this-

1. Gave me 143 for one of the perfect phones
2. Sent the second one back saying it has zero value. I have turned it back on - it is undamaged and works fine?
3. Sent the broken screen phone back

So they have undervalued the perfect phone, rejected a perfectly good phone and given me the money for the broken screen one, yet sent it back.

PCS Wireless are frauds. I reported all of this to Google who claimed that it was a PCS wireless issue and that they were happy the "process had been followed". There is no other recourse and they refused to log a complaint.

So learn a lesson - don't use any trade in scheme run by these clowns. You won't get your money and if you lucky like me, they'll steal your working phone and send you back the one they told you was broken...even though you told them that.

They deserve to go bankrupt.

Giving google play store a bad name

Traded in device under google play.
Was told device was "locked" and refused trade in. When it was returned it had scratches on the body that were not there when I sent it.
I turned the device on and immediately set up a guest account proving that they are either liars or incompetent - or both

Avoid. Wanted to trade my S23, incorrectly classified as S22 and 0$ result

Wanted to trade my S23, no cracks, factory reset. I received the trade-in package and shipped it.

A week later, the result is that they classified it as a S22 and "Incorrect device sent" so $0 trade-in refund. The phone is in perfect condition and it is an even special color - graphite S23...

I just do not understand it.

I live overseas in Japan, but bad experience

I live overseas in Japan, but Google uses the same company to assess trade-ins. I traded my old phone in 2022 for Pixel 3a for Pixel 7 without a problem.

In 2025, I traded in my Pixel 7 for a 10 and my phone was rejected for trade-in. There email says my phone was factory reset and no cracks, etc. I kept it in a case and screen cover for the 3 years I used the phone. It was in perfect condition other than it was 3 years old. I was returned my phone. I will never buy a Google phone as long as they use this company.

Terrible service and incorrect…

Terrible service and incorrect assessment of device. Google should not be using such a poor service provider for phone trade ins. Length of service makes it difficult to return items purchased with a pre agreed expectation for trade in.

I traded in my Pixel 6a through…

I traded in my Pixel 6a through Google’s trade-in . The device was confirmed as received on 8th September 2025, and I was told I would receive the full trade-in value of £323 On 18 September, I even received an email confirming the refund details.
However, as of 25 October 2025, I have still not received the payment. To make matters worse, my Google Store account incorrectly shows that I was paid on 18 September. Google has acknowledged this is not the case and is “looking into it”, but I have been repeatedly told to wait another 14 business days each time I contact support , they have also now started quoting 60 days. And asking me to update payment details multiple times.

Exactly as advertised. Full amount given.

Exactly as advertised. Applied for a trade in against a Pixel 10, received the trade-in pack, followed the instructions, made sure it was unlocked and factory reset, sent it back, acknowledgement a couple of days later and then notification of full refund at exactly the amount promised, same day

I was obviously a bit worried having seen some of the poor reviews here, but all went well.

It was in very good condition, and I had made sure i had properly reset it.

Dreadful experience using PCS (Via Google store) for phone trade in

I traded in my Pixel 9 through Google’s trade-in programme with PCS in late August. The device was confirmed as received on 2 September 2025, and I was told I would receive the full trade-in value of £474. On 20 September, I even received an email confirming the refund details.
However, as of 10 October 2025, I have still not received the payment. To make matters worse, my Google Store account incorrectly shows that I was paid on 16 September. Google has acknowledged this is not the case and is “looking into it”, but I have been repeatedly told to wait another 14 business days each time I contact support.
