Money Thieves
Was in need of an emergency passport photo. Took more than a day to do as the machine kept telling me the photo was not suitable after 6+ attempts, so I had to come back another day. Same machine, I looked the same, but now the photos were okay. Then, I go home and can't even use the photo instantly. I ended up missing the deadline because of how useless the machine was, then because I couldn't use the photos I paid for, dragging out the process.
Funnily enough, passport photos used to be £5. Now they're bumped up a whole £10, and you can't even download the photo separately like you used to. The 48 hour processing time─ which you don't know about until AFTER paying, funny─ wasn't a thing either when downloading it digitally.
Greedy company. If you can, use a different service.

Second time using Photo Me. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Second time using Photo Me. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
First time, the photo wasn't accepted by the passport office due to the resolution of the photo being too poor. Photo Me refused to refund.
Second time, using for a visa application - digital downloads of the photo are not available and refused to refund. Despite the claims from the customer service (Denise and Lucy I'm looking at you!), it's not clear that digital downloads are not available, and the workaround is not acceptable (using the passport agency website to download a thumbnail image).
It's 2024 - the world has gone digital - perhaps Photo Me need to realise that before they become the next Kodak. Don't waste your £10 (or £20 in my case). Go to Timpson's instead - they're friendlier and superior in every way (even if they are a little more expensive).
A 15 minute wait - nothing, but cost £10!
I have been waiting for 15 minutes but still the booth at Sainsburys Fareham has nor produced the printed photo - but the £10 charge has gone through! Tried phoning the 0800 number; it refers you to the website and then cuts out. Tried the website; it offers a chat service. Tried the chat service; 'we are closed'!!! At 10am on a Thursday. Ridiculous. Will demand a refund as I can't stand here all day waiting for something that may not happen.
What a scam
What a scam. You get your printed photos ok but you can no longer get them digitally. I need my photo for an online travel card application meaning these are useless. The code the company gives you is only if you’re applying for a new passport. This is not made clear at the Photo Booth. It’s a £10 rip off.
This is an awesome service
This is an awesome service. I couldn't believe how simple tis was - doing all the checks to make sure that the photo requirements were met. In under 25 minutes, had the picture taken, code printed, walked back home (about 1/2 a mile) and finished the application for my new passport.
download of photos not allowed
they have withdrawn the facility to email or allow download of my own digital photo inspite of a hefty cost of £10 for 4 photos. this service was available until early 2024 but withdrawn due to greed. will never use their service ever again.
Code didn't work
When I tried to use my code to apply for my passport it was not accepted.
This was because my photo had been deleted as more than 30 days had elapsed since it was taken. This was not made clear when I paid to have the photos done.
money and time wasted

Booth (in local post office) didn't say it took 72 hours to upload pics to passport office...3 days absurd. Called (chat box) Luke said they couldn't help as it was post office's responsibility. Where did it say that ? not on booth. Went to post office, who said the reverse. Photo me's info on the print out, so why say its not their responsibility ..total waste of time and money. Ended up getting done at local photographer and uploaded via idstation.online to passport office within 5mins. AVOID

Tried to get my granchilds photo with the Egypt background. I didn't choose Paris as that had photo in a circle with Paris as backdrop. I wanted the realistic, in Egytpt one.
Machine printed photo with a big white halo all around her face, spoiling the photo.
I won't be using
Photo me booth ever agin.
Far too expensive to have to do it at £4 a time just to get the advertised photo.
I would avoid these machines unless you have plenty of money, time and patience.

Booth at Sainsbury's in Bicester
I used booth at Sainsbury's Bicester. The machine is easy to use. I used the machine few times until I got the photo I liked. The problem occurred when photo got printed. My face in it looks like I got burnt in the sun, or rosacea. I have neither. Also, my hair looks red, but I dont have red hair either. Has anyone else experienced same issue?
There is no option to download my…
There is no option to download my digital photo. All applications are digital these days. I have no need for the print outs. It’s the digital copy I need. The code doesn’t even work for an oyster zip card application which is a form of ID. £10 and only able to use the code once for a passport photo is shockingly bad deal. And the photo gets deleted after 30 days so it really is a once use image. Throughly disappointed. Won’t use this booth again. In fact I will be emailing for a refund.
