We had an offer on the house and Pickfords came to collect all our gear - then everything went wrong with the offer and we spent 6 months scrabbling to sell - all the while Pickfords were supportive and let us add a wee bit to our storage when we needed to - they made an horrendously difficult 6 months much easier to bear PF26000545

Pickford's are not the cheapest removals company but when you hire Pickford's to move you. It's peace of mind, quality and 400 years of removals experience you are buying. I happily paid for this. I moved from London to Somerset after 26 years in my family home, kids have grown, wife sadly passed away and they were understanding, considerate and excellent in every aspect.

Elliott managed the details of the move for me he was very professional and even managed to find a slot for me at short notice caused by a need to a shortened exchange and completion.

The team of removers Alex, Jhon, Alin and Daniel were careful, considerate and fast. It was clear they are an expert team and have worked together for some time. Pick up went smoothly and so did the delivery all without a hitch. I supplied the refreshments and they supplied the manpower!

I highly recommend Pickford's and I will be using them again in the very near future when my London apartment purchase completes to move me into

We used Pickfords to ship all our household contents and motorcycle from South Africa to the UK. Simon and his team did a fantastic job making it such a smooth and easy process for us. They packed, collected, shipped, and delivered everything very quickly. Some items were too large for our new house and they stored the items for us at a great price. I can't recommend them enough.

Whilst they delivered the goods... Twas a palava, they did not have enough crew, told the delivery crew there were no steps despite being a 6 bed Georgian terrace. Paid a load of money, they have not collected old boxes and are now in my opinion on breach of the agreement. We are exploring what refunds are available or if we should just get legal help. Driver was the only reason they get at least 1 star.

Pickfords were excellent from start to finish. For a long distance UK move the quote was very competitive. The admin staff were great. On the day the removals team arrived on time and were friendly and accommodating. Everything was packed and handled with care, we only lost a mug and glass throughout the whole move. Delivery at the other end was fantastic.Our items had to be shuttled into smaller trucks to get down the lane. The removals team did several shuttle runs and even carried lots of stuff down to the bottom of the rather large garden. All in all the whole experience was stress free. I would highly recommend.

Great experience with Pickfords - the move managers made a very stressful time so much easier by accommodating a last minute change of plan calmly and super-efficiently. And the removals team were amazing, clearing the house in record time!

I used Pickfords in December 2025 and had an excellent experience. Everything was carefully protected and not a single item was damaged, so I had no hesitation using them again for my move in August 2026.

Unfortunately, this time the experience was completely different.

Almost every item that wasn't boxed has been damaged, and the standard of protection and care was nowhere near what I experienced previously. Valuable artwork, my custom-made table, televisions, my Miele fridge/freezer, my child's bed and numerous other belongings have all been damaged.

One of the televisions was even left upside down, and I have now discovered that it is broken as a result.

Even more upsetting, the team left my cashmere rug at the previous property. This was not simply a valuable possession. My partner bought it before she sadly passed away giving birth to our child. It was in as-new condition and, although it had significant monetary value, its sentimental value was far greater. It is irreplaceable to me, which makes the fact that it was simply left behind by a professional removal company incredibly distressing.

One member of the team was also repeatedly complaining throughout the move and gave the impression that he simply did not want to be there. There was no empathy or understanding for my circumstances, despite the additional pressures I am dealing with caring for my disabled child and my father, who has dementia.

I chose Pickfords because I was paying for a professional service and expected my belongings to be handled with care. I did not choose the cheapest removal company. Unfortunately, the sheer number of damaged items makes me seriously question the level of care and attention given during this move.

What makes this particularly frustrating is the contrast with my December 2025 move. The same company previously provided an excellent service, yet this time the standard was completely unacceptable.

I am now pursuing Pickfords regarding the damage and will take the matter further, including through the courts if necessary. I am also documenting the damage with photographs and videos.

Based on this experience, I would strongly advise anyone moving valuable, expensive or sentimental belongings to think very carefully before using Pickfords. When you entrust a removal company with possessions that may be irreplaceable, you should be able to expect them to be treated with care.

My previous experience with Pickfords was excellent. My most recent experience has been the complete opposite, and I am extremely disappointed.

I have updated my review to reflect an issue I discovered with the television.

I only switched the television on when my broadband was installed, as I had been unable to use the apps without an internet connection. It was then that I discovered the television had been damaged, screen is all broke, no wonder when it was stored incorrectly and treated with no care at all.

This is therefore an update to my original review to make the situation clear and accurately reflect my experience.

The move crew was excellent and highly professional. Andrew, the Team Leader, was exceptional... polite and helpful. They deserve a 5-star rating, but there was a glitch in correctly surveying the volume of goods

We had great service all the way from our initial enquiry to the pick up of our house contents (which are in storage at time of writing this review). Racheal communicated with us politely and was attuned to our queries which was dealt with smoothly and effectively. Paul estimated our load perfectly, even after we informed him of us selling some of our furniture. The crew who picked up did so expertly - I was amazed how he managed to jigsaw our pieces into the van so precisely!

Had a great moving experience with Pickfords. My move manager, Charlotte Boote, was extremely helpful and able to answer all of my questions. The packing team on the day of the move, Nick and Darren, also did a fantastic job and finished everything well ahead of schedule. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to make an international move.

From the initial call in December through to the move in January the team were clear, helpful and prompt. The video survey was easy and the pricing was pretty much what I expected afterwards.

On the day of the move, the team were on time, parked up in the bays I'd reserved, all polite and friendly and then set to work with such speed and care that it felt like a swarm of locusts had cleared my house. They gave good ETAs and at the other end after 90 miles they unloaded quickly and carefully and set everything where it should go

Due to refurb and decorating we are only just unpacking the final boxes and can report no breakages. All in all, well worth the money. Thanks to everyone involved in our move.

Pickfords matched our lowest quote, which was the first in many excellent elements of their service. The staff on the phone were friendly and helpful and the team on moving day were hard working and jolly.
