If I could give it no stars then I would. Had a debt recovery letter stating that we were in areas with ground rent and I had never heard of them, nor received any notifications. I have tried repeatedly to contact them by email about our actual address but it comes back as not delivered. I have sorted out the debt with the agency and had over £2500 removed from the bill. As we are a charity and this money is much needed I am disgusted by them. This is a sham company.

Professional Property Management Company
Pier Management have managed the ground rent and buildings insurance for the block my flat is situated in for a number of years now. Any time there has been an issue or we have a query, they've always been very supportive and done their best to help assist. Nisha Jacob and Helen Burns in particular have always been very professional and taken their time to reply and speak with us quickly to help resolve any matters.

As with most of these reviews I am having a terrible experience with Pier Management. I am currently having to pay over £700 pa for buildings insurance on a one bedroomed flat in Blackpool. They have now appointed Centrick management in order to manage the property who also seem hellbent on extorting me with made up charges. I have contacted Pier in order to purchase the leasehold however they do not provide any information and simply advise me to make an offer. I was in the hope of a law change this year so have held off on making such offer however this does not seem to have come to fruition. Any help or advice greatly appreciated in order to rid myself of these absolute thieves.

Having begun the lease extension process and now near it's completion he has been so very helpful, professional and reassuring. He is always happy to answer my questions and queries and replies to my emails swiftly.
From the beginning I was supplied straight forward information and details to progress along with my own solicitor.
Pier Management have been productive with documents and have exceeded my expectations. It's been amazing knowing I could contact them and get the answers and progress report on the lease extension.
Additionally I have previously phoned and used the portal for paying my ground rent and its always been successful with excellent customer service.

Rude, unprofessional staff. They find new ways of getting money out of their customers, like requesting fees from landlords if they sublet their property to a tenant. No other management company does this. Cowboys!

I had seen the poor reviews of Pier management whilst in the process of buying my property. It was cause for concern, especially seeing as I live in NY. However, in the few months that I have had to try to contact Pier Management, whether by email or phone, I have found them to be responsive. Sam Brown, who I have spoken to on several an occasion, has always been professional, yet friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. He has also been very responsive in terms of emails. I believe he is a relatively new employee, so hopefully, time with the company, does not change his helpful attitude. For me, it's always been a pleasure to speak with him. If I was able to access the tenant portal, I would have given 5 stars, but that has been an issue for me.

Greed greed greed - ridiculous fees and no customer service. We have sold because we cannot put up with their rip off costs any longer - I have been asked to provide more info or my review will be removed - here it is - £700 a year for building insurance for a 2 bedroomed flat in the East Midlands, how can that be justified? I have rung them twice to query it but just get answers like “that’s how much it is now”. According to my solicitor the incorrect lease was used when the flat was initially built. Therefore allowing the ground rent to be whatever Pier decides it wants it to be. I paid over £1,000 to alter the lease, thus allowing them to only increase it by inflation each year. But it is now still over £300 a year. If the correct lease had been set up in the beginning the ground rent would be fixed at a maximum of £250 a year. The incorrect lease also allows them to evict me almost instantly if I was to fall behind with my annual payments despite owning the flat. The correct type of lease would allow me a lot longer to sort out the payments and thus avoid eviction. This type of lease stops sales of flats going through because as soon as a decent solicitor sees it, their client is advised not to buy. Lenders will often not lend against flats with this type of lease either. I have never been behind with my fees, I own the property outright yet these people hold this threat over my head and take a ridiculous amount of money from me every year for what? If this post is removed it is because Pier do not want the truth to be known, not because I have been rude or told lies. Beware.
Rude and unhelpful
Pier have recently taken over our block of flats to manage certain fees. I have been back and forward on email and they are reluctant to help or provide answers to your questions, yet they demand money and have no empathy or remorse when they mess up their own processes, that affects us personally. (E.g having to fight for a payment plan when they were asking for over £300 to be paid in the same month). When you ring and try and ask for help they are rude, unhelpful, defensive and belittling. I’m yet to speak to someone helpful at Pier and hope that someone is able to have a little more compassion, or human decency moving forward.
Terrible company!
Terrible company! They have a history of poor ethics and operations. I have asked numerous times for explanations of their high fees and poor reviews to which I get nothing. A company that clearly enjoys scamming their clients and has done so for years.
I'd be keen to group with others to fight against them.

Building insurance info - quick response
I requested information about my leasehold flat's building insurance and Sam answered my questions promptly. I came back for more info and that was provided the next day. In the past we have had issues with Pier but on this occasion, no complaints at all.

Please could you tell me how to contact you. I am in the process of taking Pier Management to Tribunal. It's time we exposed this cowboy outfit. Maybe we could all report them to the ombudsman.
