Pikolinos Quality Needs Help!
I have worn Pikolinos for years, I like the slip on Jerez style, and I have every color. I "loved" them. Recently, I had to replace my black ones, and I received them in the mail, because our local shoe store stopped carrying them, as they are now made in China. I ordered them from the Pikolinos website, hoping that the quality would be the same, and giving them a chance. There is no comparison on the quality. I wore my new shoes to walk into town and had them on for about 5 hours. When I took them off, my feet had turned black, I suppose from the dye in the shoe.
They were not as soft and comfortable. Extremely upsetting. They are/were the only shoes I ever wear.
Pikolinos please help!
Happy with my new kicks
I have a pair of Puerto Vallarta 655-0732C1 sandals that I have loved for two or more years. I just bought a new pair. They are a lighter, brighter red (coral) and the stitching is less contrasting, but they are beautiful, and immediately comfortable. This is important to me because I have bunions and "difficult" feet. These look so good and they feel wonderful on my feet. Thank you.
Pikolinos Sole Cracked
Both soles of my shoes cracked and developed larger holes. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the material used in these shoes. Has anyone else had this problem? I have never had a pair of shoes/boots crack or fall apart like this before, even after years of wear. Although these shoes were extremely comfortable, I'll never buy another shoe/boot made by Pikolinos again.
I contacted Pikolinos customer support and send them pictures of they broken shoes and they never contacted me.
I had a pair of pikolinos Java sandals…
I had a pair of pikolinos Java sandals years ago and loved them. I purchased a pair though Nordstrom and the heal cover on one shoe fell off on day one! and the other heal was visibly worn after 1 mile of walking! I was on a date too.
Unfortunate. I like the shoes. Had to return them and won't buy another pair
I was very hesitant to order following…
I was very hesitant to order following Brexit but all was as before, delivered within the week and kept well informed of progress of delivery. Thank you Pikolinos.
Loved to wear them, now love to take them off
For years I was a fan of my Pikolinos Lagos boots made in Spain. Walking in them was amazing and they made my day when I wore them. I never liked how easily the non-leather part frayed, but I simply trimmed the threads because the rest of the shoe made up for it.
When the soles wore out I gave their new Lagos model a try. The shoes I received smell awful, the embellishments look cheap, they are no longer soft and make the ball of my foot hurt, and they rub my heels. They also make my feet feel numb/itchy. Definitely not worth their price.
I couldn't return them because they were a gift, so I thought wearing them would improve the fit and discomfort. Not at all, and now it looks like one sole is coming loose.
I called Spanish customer service, and they explained that they have a much bigger market now that the Chinese have become interested in Spanish footwear, and have had to start manufacturing some models in other countries like China. They assured me that the materials and quality standard were all the same, which is clearly not the case (at least, for this pair of shoes).
Also, in the new version of the Lagos(*) the fray-prone fabric covers a much larger area. It must have been cheaper than using leather, and it will definitely shorten the lifetime of the shoe because the frayed area will look terrible after wearing them a handful of times (that is, if they don't come apart before that).
I am angry and sad, and I will not be buying Pikolinos again in the near future. I do not recommend them, unless you make sure that the model you want is made in Spain.
(*) I bought them in Jan 2020 in the Spanish PIKOLINOS online store.
Pikolinos Berna M8J Blue
Pikolinos Berna M8J Blue. Size: 9.5 -10.
Purchase date: Mid October 2020. Directly from Pikolino's website.
PROS:
- Comfortable to wear,
- Well made upper body.
CONS:
- Shoelaces lose shape and integrity very fast,
- After only three months of wearing them in the office and outdoor environment (sidewalks, asphalt), the shoe sole on the heel side in both shoes is gone! Only recently when I looked underneath, I noticed massive holes in both shoes, filling up with small rocks after each day outdoors. I've never had a pair of casual shoes that would fail on me so fast.
The shoe sole is made out of soft (too soft in my opinion) rubber. I won't be buying them again. I had to purchase another pair (brand) somewhere else.
Pikolinos - Ships from EU but aren’t clear so watch out for huge import fees if buying in the UK.
Pikolinos, do us all a favour and be clear that you are not shipping your goods from inside the UK. This is not shown anywhere on your website! I ordered a bag online last week for £122 and UPS quickly let me see online that it would be delivered this Thursday between 11.15 and 15.15. It said it had cleared customs which was the only way I knew the bag was coming from the EU.
Yesterday I received a notification from UPS saying I needed to pay £51.40 in import duty to get the bag delivered!!! That’s almost half the price of the bag. I’m livid!!!
I’ve paid the duty as I basically have no choice and now UPS has removed all tracking information from the site and updated the status of my order as needing payment that I’ve already made. I’ve been trying to get hold of them all morning as well as emailing Pikolinos direct. So far I’ve been on hold to UPS for almost an hour with no luck and you’re not responding to emails. I’ve now paid £164 for a bag I’ve no idea if or when I will receive.
Easily avoided if you put on your website where you’re based. A case of “P*** off, we’ve got your money”.
You should pay the £51.40 as compensation for all the aggravation. Why is everything such a pain these days? Whatever happened to ordering something and it just showing up? Awful experience and will NEVER buy from you again !!!!
Updated review
I gave a review a few weeks ago, not taking into consideration the impact BREXIT would have.
The goods arrived as requested, and a great fit and the usual comfort. Many thanks to the Pikolinos staff.

Nearly 4 weeks and still no shoes they say it's down to Brexit. I'd advise anybody spend your money elsewhere. Once bit twice shy I will never purchase pikolinos shoes through the parent company again use another website that sells them you'll probably get them quicker. The courier service they use doesn't keep you updated either I've had a awful experience with both.
Replacing buckles with horrible velcro closures
The worst thing Pikolinos did was replace their elegant metal buckles with cheap and nasty velcro. The shoes (which aren't cheap) immediately lost all credibility. Velcro is so ghastly, making shoes look like they arrived direct from a cheap Chinese factory. For babies and the feeble, okay. For an adult? No. It is also dangerous because it loses its grip. On to another brand!
Sorry!
I submitted a review on 7 January and now feel I was a little hasty! I did not take into account that the order on 29 December would be subject to Customs. I have since received a total of 5 emails, including tracking advice and number. Boots arrived twenty two days after order and they are perfect! Yes, customer service could maybe be better but I've encountered worse! I'll be ordering again.
The shoes are quite comfortable and…
The shoes are quite comfortable and stylish. I was initially very happy. The problem came when the inside of one of the two pairs I bought wore unusually fast, and begin to fall apart. The company advised that a photograph of the shoes was not enough, I must have a receipt. This is an absurd requirement as few people save all their receipts for months on end. The only other time when I had such a situation was about 25 years ago with Cole Hahn. Their response was to send me a return envelope for the shoes, which they replaced immediately upon return of the shoes. While I like the shoes, there are other fine shoes in the world. There’s no reason to purchase from a company that is unreasonable when a pair of their shoes is defective.
Arrived at last
I have been buying shoes from here for a while now. Probably have 6 pairs. I recently ordered a pair of boots for my partner. According to the UPS tracking, they have been on route for 10 days from Dover. I have emailed Pikolios 3 times, tried ringing their customer service number, but it just rings with no answer. I have requested a refund via email. Nothing.
Persistence finally paid off. I managed to contact customer services, who assured me that the shoes were on route. They arrived today. Same good quality. I will be reluctant to order again due to the delivery situation. I will buy when i am in Spain.
My relationship with Piklinos has…Owner 4 pairs of shoes
My relationship with Piklinos has started 6 months ago when I bought my first pair of shoes. Shifting your whole footwear to one manufacturer at the start is a bit bumpy ride where Pikolinos addressed every single issue I had experienced in UK. I have sent 4 pairs in total for refund 2 because size was not right, 1 because because shoe heel caused me blisters from a day one and once because shoe sole came apart. Once the right size was established I got my self 4 pairs of shoes in total. Pikolinos even assisted me with some photos from a warehouse just to make sure I can see boot from inside before I opt and buy a pair. That's how you buy loyalty. For now I will look no further but the Pikolinos. Many thanks for great customer service, patience and common sense!

My experience with Pikolinos
I too have bought Pikolinos shoes and boots for years, sometimes on line and sometimes from the Malaga store. All have been quite satisfactory, so long as I buy size 45 for my size ten feet. Last month I bought one leather rucksack from the outlet store at a greatly reduced price and delivered in four days to the UK. I was so pleased with it that I bought two more as Christmas presents. All three are made in India. This discovery has ruined my belief that all their products are made in Spain with Spanish leather. As for future purchases? Well another boot company, Panama Jack, still advertises as goods wholly made in Spain. I still have their boots in regular use after 5 years, and I am delighted with them.
Currently I am trying to buy a travel bag in the Pikolinos sale, but a "buy" click on that product simply refers me to customer services who seem unwilling to answer the phone or reply to my email.
That is a great disappointment from a once brilliant company.
Quality has gone
Lovely comfortable shoes at first, bit then the problems start. 10 weeks in and I have not worn them everyday, the leather on the heals is wearing, the reason, the little rubber sole on heel are badly positioned and according to a shoe maker in Birmingham the heel bases need to move back 3mm, also stitching is failing, won't by again
Gorgeous shoes
Well. The shoes are just as described but they came with a few scuff marks on them. And something on the back of the heel. I paid $200 for these shoes.
Revised I was able to buy some shoe cream and get the scuff marks off. And whatever it was on the heel. I just wanted to say how beautiful these shoes are. Definitely happy
I will make time to go back
I will make time to go back, best pizza in JHB hands down the service experience was amazing! Keep it up
I have been ordering and wearing…
I have been ordering and wearing Pikolino shoes for years with satisfaction. Over the last year the size has become smaller and narrower. They do not fit well any more plus the materials of construction have become inferior. After 4 weeks the material inside the heel has worn through. Just like Marks & Spencer socks and underwear, do the management really think the customers re stupid will not notice a drop in quality?
Will not be buying Pikolinos any more.
