Excellent but expensive
I've used this company twice, for plumbing. The workman has come promptly, done very good work and communicated well. However, this is what I would expect – this is the most expensive company I have found for household repairs.
In the past I've had at least one workman charge too much for parts. The workman I dealt with didn't seem to do this – the price he quoted (for a valve) was comparable with what I had found on the web, plus a 25% markup, which is normal I think, most companies charge for sourcing parts.
I've only put a four-star rather than five-star review because it's expensive. But the quality of work, response time and communication have been good on the two occasions I've used them.

Fixing all of our electrical issues
We had hired Pimlico to do some plumbing work, and they brought in Andrew O'Connor to add an outlet for a pump. He noticed several problems with our electrical system and notified us.
The previous electricians we'd hired had left a mess, and hadn't addressed a number of safety concerns. Andrew walked us through each issue, and came up with a plan to address everything. I know enough about wiring to know that he was raising legitimate issues (and some we reported, like the brand new Air Conditioner continually flipping the breaker--because they'd wired it to the lights circuit).
Pimlico is expensive, but when Andrew left I felt like every electrical issue had been dealt with appropriately and safely. He was also really pleasant to work with (as was Lee, who came in to fix up plaster/woodwork as necessary).
It was definitely worth the extra cost.

Would give 0 stars if possible
Would give 0 stars if possible. These people are professional goldbrickers i.e. they drag out simple tasks or pretending to troubleshoot just to run up the clock and invoice. They came out to inspect a gas leak and had found and tested it within about 40 minutes. The engineer then carried on slowly doing the same tests over and over again until finally after 2 hours he turned the gas off and left. Then I get a bill for over 300 pounds, for effectively a job that took 30-40 mins.
I had to get another plumber round to finish the job, which consisted of re-soldering the connections on the pipes under the boiler and re-testing - which in total took about 30 mins. When I told him about the guy from Pimlico he just shrugged and chuckled and said well that's what they do isn't it.. Avoid!

Got the Leak Location Wrong and Refused Responsibility
Pimlico initially came out to perform leak detection but could not determine the exact location of the leak. They advised that tracer gas testing was required to accurately locate the source.
I paid over £1,500 for the tracer gas investigation.
Following the survey, Pimlico identified a leak location and proposed further works at a cost of approximately £4,500 (excluding reinstatement costs) to access and repair it. The quote was excessive, so I instructed a different contractor.
The floor was opened up exactly where Pimlico identified the leak. There was no leak there. A second location identified by Pimlico was subsequently ruled out as well.
What I found most disappointing was Pimlico's response when this was brought to their attention. Before the tracer gas survey, the service was presented as a way to accurately locate the source of the leak. Once the identified location proved wrong, the explanation changed to tracer gas only identifying a "probable area" or "logical starting point".
In other words, I paid over £1,500 for a specialist leak detection service and was left needing a fresh leak investigation because the area identified was wrong.
Based on my experience, I would save your money or use a company that is prepared to stand behind its diagnosis.

The purpose of the tracer gas service was to refine this diagnosis and provide a more targeted indication of the likely leak location to support subsequent trace and access works.
Based on the engineer’s findings at the time, including pressure testing results and tracer gas readings, the bedroom/conservatory area was identified as the most probable location for further investigation. This conclusion was clearly presented as a professional assessment based on the available evidence, rather than a guaranteed pinpoint confirmation of the leak location.
I recognise your view that the subsequent intrusive works did not identify a leak in the area indicated. However, leak detection is an inherently investigative process, particularly in concealed systems, and tracer gas testing provides a probability-based assessment rather than absolute confirmation of the exact leak point. It is also not possible to fully verify system configuration or later third-party findings retrospectively when forming the original diagnosis.
I acknowledge your concern that expectations around the level of precision may not have aligned with the outcome. However, the service provided was delivered in line with the intended purpose of tracer gas testing, which is to narrow down likely leak locations and inform the next stage of investigation rather than guarantee exact location without further exposure works.
I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience, cost, and disruption experienced as a result of the works that followed. Your feedback has been noted and will be shared internally to ensure we continue to improve how we communicate the limitations and expected outcomes of diagnostic services more clearly at the outset.
