Don't sell a lifetime license if you don't intend to honor it. They say my lifetime license doesn't work with windows 11, but I can sign up for their new plan free for 3 months. Why would I give this company any more of my money after they've already scammed me.

I contacted them, and they flat out refused to help me in any way.

They ripped me off, and many others who bought their LIFETIME LICENSE.

Search the internet and you will find many other people who were violated by this company.

Excellent service that let you record movies from a vast selection of sources for a very reasonable price. The program works quite stable so that recording failures are the exception. I can fully recommend playon.tv.

Scam company.It would appear their lifetime license was simply marketing ploy to pat their bottom line, as they no longer support the initial iteration of software. Shame On PlayOn!

I gave PlayOn one star only because zero wasn't available. My complaint is the same as most others here. I bought what I was told was a Lifetime License and now they won't honor it.

I bought a lifetime license and it is now obsolete because they upgraded their software and the license works only on the obsolete version.I wrote a complaint to them and in summary their reply was this is what they do when it comes to upgrades. They ripped off many users with the lifetime scam.

Can't be trusted. Sold lifetime license, cut support. Only solution pay more money. Good for them bad for their customers

My wife purchased a lifetime membership to Playon for me in about 2016. It worked for a while but now it is telling me I cannot use it anymore and have to upgrade. subtlescam?#

I've tried my share of stream recording programs. Play On is the best so far. True HD quality recordings if you have the bandwith.

The most annoying thing is the splash screen with my name and I.P. address. I understand the intent. But under DVR laws it's unnecessary.

#MeToo# Scammed like everybody else and this review is to simply let people know this not a company you can trust. Lifetime License means when we decide to pull the plug for this company. Do not pay for their services. You have been warned.

Like most of the reviews I have read, i have a Life Time license which i paid for in 2015.
To be fair, apart from me asking about them adding 1080p with maybe, I have had a good run up until now.
My issue related to with my password through playon desk for netflix not validating anymore, and Playon support saying that it is no longer supported.
I am extremely disappointed in the way they have handled the whole transition, and definitely took them to task, but that was a waste of time.
Playon is not fit for purpose whatsoever as they screen record programs and there are better alternatives out there now which will download the file in a matter of minutes.
These services are not hard to find as a Downloader not a screen recorder.
I would not be surprised if their service is dropped completely in the next year or so in its present form of screen recording.
Also Playon say “Please note: (Get a Playon Home Plan) You can still use your Playon Desktop Lifetime License on Windows 10 and Windows 8.1”

Same old story, lifetime subscription seems to mean nothing to this company. To me it means I get to use their product, with updates, for life. Not the life of that particular version of the product.

Terrible policy and the product has never functioned adequately.

The cloud version is a bigger scam, you get 1080p res only if you use 3 credits per download. So what does a download credit actually mean? On the face of it, that should mean one credit per download. But not to this company. SCAM

Seems to be a common thread here, I bought a lifetime version, only to have support stopped. I contacted support and they said due to changes in the way companies stream now, thsy can't make the software work....BUT we can offer you our cloud service. What a crock.

Like others have said, I paid for a lifetime subscription only for them to drop support for it and tell me I now need to pay monthly/yearly to use what I already paid for.

The company sold me a lifetime subscription, then wiggled out of it by renaming the product and dropping support for the old one. Can't really trust this company going forward.

Bought PlayOn Plus Lifetime back in 2016. It never worked properly for me. Always some issue they were working on. So I kept checking back time to time to see if it was fixed. Hoping someday when all the stars was aligned I could record the things I wanted to.
I can't recommend anyone to buy anything from this company since neither their product or agreement where uphold.

Like so many others, I bought a life-time subscription and then the company decided not to support the contract. Their agent explained to me it is all about the money -- the company is not willing to spend money to keep the platform current.

I bought a lifetime subscription now they say I have to buy it again. This is not the actions of a reputable company. Why buy again when that will end and you buy infin item.

Bought a "lifetime" subscription. Now I find out it was the lifetime of a gerbil or something. I was informed on Windows 11 my lifetime is over.
