Terrible service

I used to use Playtrade very often for a number of years. As a private seller selling tonnes of entertainment goods it was an alternative to Amazon to shift the items. Well over a year ago I noticed my sales were becoming less frequent and generally declining, until it was at the point I had no sales at all. I later discovered Play had deleted me off their database, this was despite the fact I could still log in and view my listings, giving me the impression I was still active. They unbelievably never bothered to inform me of this at any point!!! Even e-mailing them to ask what had happened I've still not received any response. A disgraceful disregard for customers.

Even before that though their service annoyed me. There were times I'd not receive e-mails to tell me one of my items had sold. Other times where their site was pathetically slow or unable to load for a good amount of time. The annoyance of constantly having to log in because they set the account to log out if it's left idle for just a ridiculously short time. The changing of their layout to make it more difficult to list your items. And of course the fees were over the top.

The definition of 'play' is doing something fun. They are anything but fun. Torturetrade would be a more apt title for their seller service.

Terrible service and seller services

We sell on a lot on other platforms such as Amazon and eBay which although the fees are fairly high they are no where near as high as Playtrade.

It's so difficult to get a product listed on Playtrade it really makes you not want to bother. You have to complete complex excel sheets and upload images to your own hosting first.

They've also now changed the rules, so even though we pay £19.99 as a Pro Seller, we can no longer list our own goods. They now want over £40 per month and will also take 10% of each sale. This is just not possible.

Customer service is pretty bad too. Will not be going back. If you're a small business, please avoid.

WOnt shop there again. dreadful attitude to ordinary customers.

Just spent 25 mins trying to get into my playtrade account and went through all the fuss of creating new passwords etc with customer services only to find i still couldnt access it. rang them back again and was told to call another number and finally get through to that number to be told that all non business accounts have been deleted! No notification, no warning to customers etc .. just go on site one day and find bang, all deleted!! Not even an apology from the guy on the phone. Wont buy another thing from them EVER!

Out of Pocket £25 and emails ignored

I ordered a realtone cable through Play. I haven't received any goods and the money has been taken from my account. All emails so far have been ignored. I usually use Amazon and wish I had stayed with them, they rectify complaints VERY quickly. I used to use Play a lot in the past, what on Earth has happened to them? I note I'm not the only one with this complaint.
.......
As an update, this item was ordered through playtrade from shopto. After 5 unanswered emails I decided to find someone to talk to in person. Shopto have their own website, but contact is through a 5p per minute premium rate number. I managed to get a direct dial from the say no to 0870 website. When I spoke to a Shopto representative he was very apologetic. He looked at his system which showed no emails from Playtrade. He was able to find my order, and apologising again offered an immediate refund or an immediate dispatch. The poor service seems to have come from Play and not from Shopto. I agreed to an immediate dispatch and within an hour had the confirmation of dispatch email. Play should be ashamed, not one single reply to any email sent and an incorrectly processed order. I know they have received my messages as I get their automated response emails. Shopto are being dragged down by a very poor and rude attitude towards their customers by Play. I've now closed my Play account after over 10 years.

Playtrade Good, some of their sellers Rogues and thieves.

I have been using Play.com/Playtrade for about a year now and have had a good experience with just a few blips and one stinker of a company called "TVWALLBRACKET" who are Gangsters with a capital G. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. I ordered a TV Stand from them on the 27/01/2013 and according to them it was despatched 28/01/2013. I waited for a week, nothing, waited 2 weeks still nothing so I contacted Playtrade they put me in contact with the seller, I sent an email, nothing, sent another, nothing and another nothing so I went to their Feedback and left a negative comments within hours received an email from TVWALLBRACKET apologising and saying they would sort it out, next morning got an email from them saying their couriers had delivered to me and as far as they were concerned it was delivered I countered saying it had not, anyway to cut along story short after several emails back and forward with them refusing to back down, lo and behold I received an email from them saying if I withdrew my negative comments they would send my order I told them in no uncertain terms that when I received my goods I would consider it. So I waited and waited and I'm still waiting and have sent emails got some back with them sticking to their guns that it was delivered etc but if I withdrew my negative comments they would send a replacement, why would they replace it if they delivered it. So since them I have told them to shove it and give me my money back, and if it was delivered now I would refuse it. Playtrade have entered the frame today after I appealed on their Face book page. So we will see. I am 60 severely disabled, have chronic asthma and a heart problem and this has done me no good what so ever. So Please I have no problem with Play.com/Playtrade but some of their sellers need to be scrutinized in depth by Playtrade. Please do not trade with " TVWALLBRACKET." Hope this helps others. Promises, promises, promises but no delivery!

I order a cable from ELM-Spares via playtrade. They delivered the wrong cable so I contacted them and asked them to send the correct cable and to let me know if they wanted the incorrect cable sent back.
They replied that I should not bother to send the wrong cable back and that they would send the correct cable straight away.
4 weeks later and after 6 promises to courier the correct item I still have no cable.
Worst ever customer service and I recommend that you avoid ELM-spares (or ekm-spares) at all costs.

stuffyoulike - I don't like them!

I have had the same experience as many that have posted on here - ordered something as a present a month in advance, payment was taken but the order never arrived. I have also emailed the contact and not received a reply - I'm just thankful that I didn't order something more expensive as I have clearly wasted my money!

I'm really disappointed as I have always used Play.com and they changed for the worse

AVOID TOYTIME playtrade

I placed an order before on Dec 7th with play trade seller for the first time.

Attempted to contact seller directly after 10 days and not receiving any product. No response

1 month later contact seller again only to receive a rude email suggesting that I should be blaming his choice of courier rather than his complete lack of customer service.

I will not shop with play trade sellers again.

Always Favour Buyer - Terrible Customer Service

I ordered a DVD from seller reyesmienstien - I was told 7 to 10 days delivery, after 11 days I contacted the seller to say the item has not arrived. Two days later I contacted the seller again via playtrade attempting to file a complaint and I was told I have to give an extra 7 days before filing the complaint so I did.

When I finally managed to file the complaint I was told that I have to give a further 3 days to allow the seller to respond. Today is the 4th day, I still could not find where I click a button to say start the claims process so I called an 0845 number.

After being on hold for 10 minutes I was given a reference number and told that I should use that if the seller has not replied within another 4 days, asked where I enter the number I was told I would have to call back, the operator said we don't like to get involved between customer and seller, what a joke playtrade is...

Stay well clear people, it is more stress than it is worth when things go wrong and playtrade make it far from easy in filing a complaint. It's also a joke that they release your funds when the seller 'claims' the item has been posted with ZERO proof and no tracking info.

Very poor service

Having ordered a CD from OscaGB via play.com I was disappointed when it did not arrive. Mailed the seller whoa ssured wme it had been sent and said they would send another. Item was then marked as despatched.
Needless to say, the item did not arrive and it is now four weeks since the order. I have mailed the seller twice and play.com twice. Play.com cannot be bothered to answer my complaint and have ignored my request for a refund.
Do not order from OscaGB and be very wary of using any playtrade seller

Re MP3 player bought from dealhunters

i sent for this item as a christmas present for my son. Unfortunately it was an unwanted item so i contacted the company to return it. I realised that i would have to pay the postage to send it back, by recordered delivery as they stated but when the refund was made, they deducted the delivery postage as well. I had not been advised that this would happen and if i had known would have kept the item for myself. attempts to get this money back have failed so i will definitely not be using them again and would advise others to stay clear also

Buy with caution

I purchased a monster truck for my son from a supposed "Company" called Starfilms on play trade. The truck was brand new but couldn't turn left so completely useless. I had to pay £10.34 to return the truck (which I don't think I'm going to get back) so I'm £53 down, I still haven't had my refund and the seller had the cheek to have a go at me for leaving negative feedback. NEVER again will I use this site. Playtrade say they will contact you after 10 days of logging a complaint but it's been 13 now and I haven't hard a dickie bird.

February 2012 - Awful

Full of scammers that either (1) supply substandard goods, or (2) disreputable characters that create dummy accounts to falsify good feedback, then take new orders, receive payment, then disappear.
The main Play.com site is great, but I advise potential customers to avoid PlayTrade like the plague.
