Polhus Paavo Sauna

I ordered a Paavo Sauna from Polhus. Ahmed was our point of contact from start to finish and I honestly could not be more pleased with the project.
Ahmed did a great job helping me with the specification and selecting the best configuration for our application and I never felt like he was trying to encourage us to order anything we didn't need. Just good clear information from someone who seems to really know their product.
The kit was really well made, the construction was reasonably easy and although we had a few issues during the build, all entirely due to my lack of skill and experience, Ahmed helped every time always responding to emails and even calling on occasion.
I would definitely use Polhus again and I am delighted with the Sauna

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Firstly - small issue but the delivery was a nightmare. Took weeks and weeks, much longer than they said. On the day of arrival was also chaotic, much later than we were told.

The day of construction we were aware we were going to need to dispose of the excess rubbish. However we were not told there would be razor blades and open pots of glue, hidden amoungst unused sheets of glass fiber in a pile in the garage. Very nasty challenging disposal.

Then comes the real issue - the window of the sauna is leaking after a couple of months. Given we went for a top of the range package (over 10k spent with the company) you would think you are going to get good treatment. Not with Polhus.

Firstly they tried to claim it was because the treatment was not applied correctly - two points on this. Firstly, it was done by a professional and it's perfect (photos supplied to the company). Secondly - even an UNTREATED sauna should not be leaking this quickly. I have had a professional look at it since and been told it is not build properly - there is a cap between the wood and the window causing the leakage - and fairly soon it will need serious repairs.

Do not expect high customer service if something goes wrong from this company. Buyer beware - wish I had spent a bit more on a Company with a higher customer satisfaction rating.

Normally, we receive very positive feedback on our assembly orders, so it’s disappointing to learn that this was not the case for you.

When it comes to leftover building materials, this is something we inform in advance that customers need to handle themselves. We understand that this can sometimes be a bit inconvenient.

We also do our best to communicate if delivery delays occur so that customers can plan ahead. Unfortunately, delays can sometimes happen for reasons beyond our control and we’re sorry this affected you. In your case, we should have handled the communication better.

Regarding the windows, we supply high-quality untreated double-glass windows. It’s important that they are properly treated and sealed on the outside, especially around the joints between the glass and the wooden frames. Based on the photos you shared, we’ve already sent you recommendations on how to secure those parts.

We’d be glad to continue the dialogue and support you further if you have more questions about your sauna. We truly hope you will be able to enjoy many good moments in it ahead.

Fabulous Service Fabulous Sauna

Great company and great Sauna

Communication with Polhus was very good – Rickard was very helpful over email and the Barrel Sauna arrived within a couple of weeks no problems.

It’s been nearly 12 months, and the Sauna works very well, and I’ve used it frequently. It’s probably one of my better investments.

Some panels had water damage marks on which I will bring up with Polhus.

Delivery was organised quickly and as I say Tob and Carl were brilliant.

Very helpful answering questions and…

Very helpful answering questions and clarifying technical details. During payment discussions additional details emerged which were embedded in the Terms and Conditions. Important to read those before final ordering. Payment made online but no confirmation of order was sent and no communication on next steps. This area should be improved.

So throughly disappointed Polhus

So throughly disappointed Polhus. My purchase experience of late has been dreadful - I have never had to work so hard to spend so much money! Terrible terrible process with me, as the customer, chasing and chasing re trying to make my purchase in the first place, to then struggling to get information on fitting. Has been appalling from start to finish. I am very disappointed and would NOT recommend them.

Great product, but clearer communication needed from Polhus..

We are absolutely thrilled with our new sauna from Polhus. The design is beautiful, the quality is excellent, and overall it’s a fabulous product that we’re so happy with.

We had the sauna installed by Rob Moore from CSL Construction, and I honestly can’t recommend him highly enough. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with, friendly, professional, and incredibly thorough. He put the sauna together brilliantly, with great attention to detail, and made sure everything was finished to the highest standard, going above and beyond to ensure we were happy at every stage. We’re so grateful to have had him on the job.

We did, however, experience a few issues along the way with Polhus that I wish we’d been made aware of in advance. The sauna arrives on large pallets and delivery is curb-side only, you’ll need to arrange help to offload and move everything. This wasn’t made clear beforehand and could easily catch people out.

Also, while the website shows beautiful, inspirational images of finished saunas, the sauna actually comes completely untreated. It’s up to you to arrange wood protection, and that’s vital because pine is very sensitive to the weather. I wasn’t warned about this when buying the product over the phone, so it caused unnecessary stress, our sauna has sat untreated for four days whilst I scrambled to source the right products, all the while hoping it won't rain!

In addition, the wrong internal lights were delivered, and I’m currently waiting for Polhus to rectify this for me, which I hope won't take long.

That said, the sauna itself is fantastic, but clearer communication from Polhus would have been appreciated.

We understand how important it is to know what to expect when receiving a delivery of this size. Our trucks always get as close to the property as possible and unloading is done using the forklift mounted on the lorry. Since the kit is large and heavy, moving it from curbside to its final spot does require some extra planning. We try to make this clear in our delivery information, but your feedback is really valuable, we’ll take a closer look at how we can communicate it even better going forward.

The sauna comes untreated, which is mentioned in the product text, but I completely understand how it can feel stressful if you weren’t expecting it. We are working on making that information clearer going forward.

We’re also making sure the correct lighting is sent out to you as soon as possible.

Thanks again for your honest feedback, it really helps us improve. We hope you’ll get to enjoy your sauna to the fullest this summer!

Positive experience with the assembly; scheduling could have been much better and easier

Rob and his colleague who built and installed our sauna were great. They arrived early, were very pleasant and respectful and worked very diligently throughout the day. Rob did a good job of explaining various construction details, including pointing out a crack in the wood which he had sealed and how I could be looked after it going forward. The finished sauna looks great and we are excited to have the electrician out to finish the job.

The only negative was setting up the assembly appointment. From when delivery of sauna was made it took 3 weeks of chasing up Polhus to get their subcontractor in the UK (Chris) to set up a date for assembly. Ultimately we had the pallets with the sauna waiting for assembly in our parking space for just over a month. It would have been better if this part of the process was more joined up.

Great experience from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Quality of sauna house is excellent. Rob and his team installed the sauna house in one day despite slope in the garden and other location challanges. Sauna looks fabulous. Love it🤩

Unhelpful when asking questions

Unhelpful when asking questions. I asked for some questions regarding the sizes of a particular item, but they just referred me to the website. I had explained that the size I was looking for wasn't shown. I asked again and just told 'Sorry, we don't have it'. Not great customer service, especially as this is an item they are selling, and it was a pretty basic question I was looking for them to answer.

Incredibly cumbersome

Incredibly cumbersome, we bought every single additional we could for an Attefalhus. You only get infomration if you ask, they have multiple for different things and no one is aligned, evertyime you ask about something its an additional payment. They say one thing and a month later go back on what they said. For the amount of money you spend you get no proper support.
