I was told by an engineer that I…

I was told by an engineer that I required a Powerflush. I asked the engineer if there company done power flushing and he said no but to search on the internet. I have to say this was a frightening experience. I had many quotes that varied from as little as £175 to £980. I then started calling these companies to find out how the process worked. I found that some of the information was suspect until I found powerflushknowitall. When I phoned them the engineer went all through the process answered all my questions that I asked and gave me information that I had not thought of. I decided to book with them. They informed me that they would be with at 8.00am in the morning. They arrived dead on time perfect.

I was pleasantly surprised that when the engineer arrived he had his own slippers and put them on before entering. He asked me various questions about the system and where the pump was. He laid out dust sheets in the areas he was working and set the equipment outside. He spent the day cleaning the system going from room to room until it was complete late afternoon. When he had finished the powerflush he asked me to check all the radiators to make sure they where all has hot as I expected.

I was amazed how hot all the radiators where. In the 12 years I have lived here the radiators had never been this hot. He also gave me a number of tips on how to look after my central heating system and how to keep the cost down. To date I am pounds better off. The engineer then removed all his equipment. At the end of it I did not know other than how Hot it was how tidy he’d left it.

I was then presented with an invoice which he went through with me I paid by bank transfer.

I have to say it was one of the best experiences I have had with any company that has come to my home in all the time I have been here. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anybody. I have to say I have read some of the reviews of this company and do not recognise any of what has been written about them in my experience.

Well done Powerflushknow it all. We have never been so warm. Fantastic job.

Was having problems with the heating…

Was having problems with the heating and radiators only half hot, got recommended by a friend Barry, talked me through everything on the phone and booked him for the next week, Barry worked around the school run and left him to it, spot on service, the man seemed to have a love for the work and now my kids are moaning the radiators are to hot, would highly recommend was left in our house alone most of the day and will use in the future

Disapppointing - not working afterwards and let us down on guarantee

Initially positive - a good presales conversation and advice; a higher price than a number of others, but Barry explained benefits of service including a gaurantee offered so we decided to go with his firm. Arrived on time and punctual and flushed through and we believed all ok.
However, 2 radiators proved to still be an issue after the event - one really cold in the children's playroom so asked the company to come back under gaurantee and since then has been a couple of months of asking - emails, phone calls etc, but no reply.

Very disappointing and would not recommend them - either pay the extra for British Gas who do fully gaurantee their work, or shop around for others and take the saving which as least helps if you need to get re-done again

Update 26/04: seen the reply from Powerflush and just to clarify that the original job was on 5th October, and we contacted the firm for help c 3 months later on 17th Jan, 24th Jan, 6th Feb and 5th March by email in addition to 3 phonecalls in Jan/Feb time as well - only the first of which was answered with the "we'll pop round when in your area". Not sure how long we are meant to wait for that - hence the continual chases without reply.

Yes we paid - we were told we had to do a bank transfer same day whilst the company was here and almost stood over us
Signing off the work - yes we did that on the day - however, it isnt possible to know if the flush has worked instantly - especially as weather was mild at the time, hence us flagging the problem post Christmas during the colder snap.
Guarantee - the "offer" to revisit at close to a 2nd payment close to 100% of the orginal invoice doesnt sound like much of a gaurantee - sounds like charging twice

UNTRUE.........
When we arrived we checked out system and found 3 in No TRV’s not working,
We repaired TRV’s and advised him to replace them. We completed the powerflush and the customer was happy and signed the invoice. About six months later Mr Heath contacted us, at first we were unable to find him but then remembered and asked if he had replaced the TRV’s, he said he had not but believed it was about the powerflush. We advised him that if we had an engineer in the area we would call in or the call out would be changeable, to date we have not had an engineer in the area. If Mr Heath would like to pay for a call out and water test ( £455.00. refundable if found to be correct) we be only to happy to retune.

British Gas recommended a PowerFlush as…

British Gas recommended a PowerFlush as our radiators had cold spots and were not warming our house properly. They quoted over £800, after doing some research into power flushing I learned that it was a specialist job and maybe British Gas engineers wouldn't be as good as a proper powerflush expert. I live in an old 50's house and the pipework is functional at best so i didn't want to take any risks.

Anyway, Barry from powerflushknowitall.co.uk came back to me the same day with a quote which was much cheaper than British Gas and the other 2 powerflush companies i requested a quote from.

The job was completed in one full day, there were no problems and our house has never been so warm!

Would highly recommend as they really do know it all about powerflushing and general plumbing for that matter.
