Good system, with some communications glitches.
The Powervault system is basically very good. It behaves well under the conditions set in its programming and appears to ‘do what it says on the tin’. My only niggle is the level and quality of communications. For me, they were very easy and reliable before I paid any deposit (so I suppose I was only a prospective customer then) but not very easy and somewhat unreliable afterwards. Personnel were reasonably well mannered, though I’m surprised that their surveyor neither appeared to possess a tape measure or knew the importance of owning one. I’m still not certain that I wasn’t substantially overcharged for a an extra run of cable that my system required.
A pretty good installation overall, though.
Just to mention, British Gas, my Feed-In Tariff provider, made things VERY tedious when it came to updating the details of my solar array which they required following the Powervault installation. They would not recognise the system that I’d had installed and registered with them for 11 years and would not recognise the schematic line diagram of the updated system. It’s taken weeks and multiple exchanges with British Gas whose staff appear not to have the faintest idea what they’re talking about to get things sorted. I’m convinced that, once BG gets wind that a customer might be robbing them of the opportunity of income by storing energy that would otherwise get exported to them, they do their best to be highly obstructive to their customers! Note that, if you already receive FiT payments for a solar array, the installation of a Powervault system will NOT be affected.

Good concise understanding of my requirements combined with a can do approach to any issues raised.
Home Battery
Very good purchase and fitment. Really pleased with the product. They are always available for consultation to adjust the system remotely. Overall a really good experience.
Not only a Good Service, but Great After Service Too
We are really pleased with our new Powervault system, the engineers who were on site, talked us through everything and did a really good, tidy job. Karen in the office, was always there to guide us through all the initial paperwork and forms. Once installed we then needed to change our broadband supplier, sometimes it can be a bit of a headache to swop everything over, but Mo was on hand and guided us through, we were back on-line within moments, completely stress free, Thank you

Brilliant simple and efficient I took along time choosing Powervault but glad I did been with them 7 years now
Had reason to contact re a battery mix…
Had reason to contact re a battery mix up with an installer (not Powervault), Simon was extremely supportive and helpful which alleviated some stress from the situation. Supported installation and advised the company installing the system, which boosted confidence in an otherwise shaky install.
Pleased with battery performance so far and when we had to clarify a question about the battery, again Simon was onto it immediately and advised, clarified and took action as needed. Only minor point that I didn't get a response from a query form filled in on website hence calling direct for the question.
Much prefer that approach anyway to be honest.
First class service from PowerVault.
The sales, installation and support processes have been responsive and helpful such that everything has gone smoothly. I positively recommend PowerVault for anyone looking for a home storage battery.
I’ve had my Powervault for 18 months..
I’ve had my Powervault for 18 months and the service has always been very good. It makes a real difference when you can ring the support line and get straight through to an expert. This morning Mo was exceptional and guided me through to a solution that was external to the system. I was back up and running very quickly. Great service again.
Installed in 2018 and upgraded in 2022
Installed in 2018 and upgraded in 2022, the service and support received from Powervault has been exemplary. From advice on configuration to ironing out inconsistencies the team has been great. Strongly recommend Powervault to prospective purchasers
Good but could be better
I have the Powervault 3 and have used it for almost 2 years now. Installed it just before the Government chose to remove VAT which annoyed me greatly. The unit works well, but caution that if you want to do anything more advanced, Powervault are charging £60 a year for access to their API to control the unit through other means. This cost would outweigh any benefit that could be gained.
Powervault P4 (12kWh)…...
I have had my Powervault P4 (12kWh) installed since the end of July 23. I have no solar and use the Powervault system to take advantage of time of use EV Driver tariff from British Gas.
Pre-Installation
The only issue with the quotation process was that an additional cost was added to the quote that was not communicated to me and came as a surprise.
Installation
There was a few technical issues during the installation that meant a second visit was required to replace a defective battery, and then a 3rd visit to replace a broken front panel LED. I had to supply a missing ethernet cable to enable the installation to be completed.
Commissioning
I needed some help and fine tweaking of the settings due to higher than expected daytime grid usage during daytime battery discharge. The settings were changed remotely by Powervault.
Usage
The Powervault system has worked perfectly since commissioning and only British Gas's inability to provide a functional dual tariff smart meter has prevented me from gaining accurate consumption data. My SMETS 1 meter was inaccurate and eventually failed to record off peak usage for 3 months. Since the installation of a new SMETS 2 meter I can confirm that my peak tariff usage is less than 0.5kWh/day.
I have only completely drained the 12kWh batteries on 4 occasions. This was over Christmas and New Year when cooking for house guests so I'm happy I've calculated the battery sizing fairly accurately. The batteries usually take a charge of 10kWh to 12kWh a day. I haven't accurately calculated the charging efficiency of the batteries but I'm guessing it takes about 10% more power to charge the Powervault than it delivers. Meaning a 11kWh charge will provide around 10kWh of available power for the house. An 11kWh charge costs £1.03 on my tariff.
Conclusion
Investing in the Powervault system is providing a ROI of around 9% so significantly better than keeping the money in the bank. The savings will pay for the Powervault system during the lifetime of the unit, future energy prices will determine how quickly that is achieved.

Professional
Easy process to buy and very professional installation. We had a few tecnical problems getting the web connection to work but the team stayed involved until it was sorted. Happy to give the 5 stars but I have two suggestions: An app rather than a website would be my preference and to allow data to be accessed by other control systems would allow more seamless integration. Having said that, I'm very happy to recommend PowerVault.

Zero carbon central London flat on 9p/kWh Octopus Go
We got our 12kWh P4 Slim Powervault in June 2023. We are using it to load shift our daily electricity needs in our London flat, which it does brilliantly. The 5kWh inverter can supply power to support our all electric household e.g. washing machine, induction cooking hob, oven and the occational boost on our Mixergy Hot water tank. Simple software app with great visuals on my mobile phone. I operate it on Manual Mode to charge 00:30H-04:30H on 9p/kWh Octopus Go tariff. It works well with our Tepeo Zero Emmission Boiler too, so we are now a zero carbon household. We dont have a roof to put in solar, but have invested in Ripple energy projects as an alternative. The Powervault is all British make too.
Really pleased I selected PowerVault
Really good experience. Having thoroughly researched the various electricity storage systems, I'm really pleased I selected PowerVault. From start to finish the interaction with the company has been great. They helped work out the size of PowerVault needed for my house/family, and then the survey and install was carried out professionally. System works brilliantly, the app and monitoring is easy to use and very intuitive. Highly recommend PowerVault.
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. Firstly after my initial install, and then following up some enquiries.
Nice looking unit
Nice looking unit, compliments the solar panels well. Amazing how much solar power is wasted, wish I had bought one ages ago.
