Protek Warranty Reviews 

We needed to get a retrospective warranty on our self build home. Circumstances and Covid meant that we had been living in our home for some time without a 10 year warranty. I contacted Protek and explained that I had ,in fact ,paid for the warranty but had not sent in all the documentation. Natalie Walkling became my "go-to" contact and she patiently explained what I needed to do and which certificates to send in. She organised an independent survey for us and finally today we received the Certificate! The process was sometimes baffling but ,to be fair, only because this was something I am not used to on a day to day basis! So a great service and handled professionally and courteously . Thanks Natalie and Protek!

Cannot reccomend this company enough, very efficient, very professional and really helpful in all aspects. Would definitely use again no question and from a personal level, I dealt with Holly who was fantastic.

We have done several self builds and every time we had the same building inspector. He used to be a joiner / builder in the past. Both houses were rejected for the insurance as they were built to Scottish standards and the inspector doesn't know anything regarding Scottish building standards. Absolute joke. Don't use protek. Never again.

Very good and quick telephone customer service. The website customer portal should be good but fails to update it seems and can be a little difficult to interpret. Overall a very good service though and quite cost competitive.

Despite warranties and insurances being a necessity and not an exciting expenditure. All the guys at Protek were helpful and knowledgeable. When small adjustments had to be made they were patient and understanding. I did especially appreciate Ely's help. When she found out the urgency of the adjustment that had to be made, she prioritised my request and within a few hours, I had received the amended documents. Great customer service!

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Protek.
Jack has been outstanding in his level of service and professionalism.
It has not been an easy journey being the 1st Self Build we have built with various issues and unknowns but the advice and support from Protek ( from both Jack and Holly) have guided me through the process.

Joe who I spoke with explained everything very well regarding the site insurance he was pleasant and patient. So very pleased with Protek's service.

Protek were really efficient at arranging the site insurance I needed for a large renovation project on an end of terrace house which required a party wall award.
They were the only company out of three that I approached that were prepared to go through the application on the phone which was extremely helpful. Joe Boss that I dealt with was brilliant and obtained a good value quote for me very quickly and explained what I needed to do, which made the whole procedure very easy to achieve. I also spoke to three of his colleagues on the phone and each were also very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend Protek for site insurance.

Protek throughout the build were a nightmare, electing not to insure things that were passed by building control, attempting to exclude flat roof sections for a variety of reasons which were covered. A commercial section of the build was included with no guidance at the depth. Getting responses from them has taken days, if not weeks, and once received they are copy paste jobs. Absolute disgrace will never use again. Tried several times for extra inspections at extra cost.

Very professional, friendly service. Totally understood our needs, with good, clear explanations of everything. No hard sell at all. Good choice if options and very easy to renew. Would definitely recommend

Being a complete novice with regards to the self build process I relied heavily on Proteks customer support team particularly Felicity who was in one word amazing, She went above and beyond to guide me through the process of obtaining the warranty with regards to inspections and addressing any defects that arose, and was always avaiable to help me navigate the process. I would not consider using any other company if ever I repeat the self build process again for a warranty or site insurance .

During my 3-year build, everything seemed smooth and efficient. What I didn't know was that the inspector had flagged "deficiencies", which he didn't tell me about at the time but went onto Protek's log. Reports were apparently sent to me, but were sent to the wrong email address! They didn't notice the bounce-backs from that email address, nor did anyone raise concerns about long-outstanding deficiencies - right until the end, when the build was completely finished. I then had to try to prove that bolts had been tightened on the steel frame, more than 2 years ago. This has taken a huge amount of my time. Eventually they accepted the photos that I could provide, but honestly, I wish I'd gone to another warranty provider.

Holly made the process of renewing our site insurance really simple over the phone. A good experience all round with Protek, though we've never claimed anything so I can't comment on that side.

I had the pleasure and luck of dealing with Felicity who helped me out of a very difficult situation and from start to finish she was a superstar who I can’t recommend highly enough. We needed a retrospective warranty for our barn conversion in a very short space of time, and Protek pulled out all the stops. The whole process, from our first contact with them to the provision of the warranty took only three weeks. Jack and Patrick in particular were very helpful in guiding us through the process, and keeping us up to date with developments.
