A mixed experience
I recently had 3 tyres changed at Protyre on Richardson Road and, unfortunately, the experience wasn’t as good as I’d hoped.
The tyres were late arriving, which I appreciate can happen, but I wasn’t contacted to let me know the work had been completed. When I got back into the car, the tyre pressure warning light came on. I know this can happen after having new tyres fitted, so I reset it and carried on.
However, just a few hundred yards down the road, the warning light came back on. I reset it again, but a few days later it returned once more and I had to reset it again.
I subsequently took the car for its MOT, where it failed on the one tyre that hadn’t been changed. That tyre had a fairly large cut in it. I obviously can’t say that the cut was caused by Protyre, and I don’t want to make an accusation without evidence, but it does seem quite coincidental that I’d had no previous issues with the tyre pressures and then, shortly after having the other three tyres replaced, I started having repeated warnings before an issue was found with the remaining tyre.
Overall, I was disappointed with the communication and the fact I had to keep resetting the tyre pressure warning. I would have expected the tyre pressures to have been checked properly and the warning system to have been reset as part of the job.
Hopefully this was just an isolated experience, but unfortunately it has left me less confident about using Protyre Richardson Road again.

Friendly staff.
I was able to book an MOT at a few days notice which was really appreciated. The guys were friendly and helpful in running me home and picking me up. I would undoubtedly use them again and would have given five stars but it was not clear when I booked that they were not actually doing the mot on-site but subcontracting to another local garage which meant I couldn’t wait for the car. Not a massive issue but would have been good to know in advance.

Excellent service provided by the Protyre Swansea team
Dropped into Protyre Swansea this afternoon to loosen free up wheel nuts as done up way too tight by another tyre place, as I was there also asked if they could also change two of the alloys over for spare ones which I had in the van, not a problem from this team.
Brilliant service by really friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic service from them and even got a cuppa while there.
Definitely popping back there in future when new tyres needed

Straightforward dealing and friendly…
Straightforward dealing and friendly service from a small team. Perfect location for taking a seafront walk and a coffee while you are waiting.
Ordering the tyres and booking a time were very easy online beforehand, as well as paying upfront. Deals on particular brands were also visible on-screen, which gave me £20 off two tyres.
