I got sent the forms really quickly. It took me a while to complete them as I was scared to go to the next stage but eventually I did and soon after I had my ADHD assessment. Later followed my ASD assessment a few months later. The total time from the initial screening to getting my assessment results was 10 months. If I had done my forms quicker I believe this timeframe would be shorter. I highly recommend going to Psicon.

Long wait times, very very difficult to manage to speak to someone. Emails aren’t responded to for a couple of weeks, and when they are they are a standard cut and paste without answering the actual query. Queue times on the phone can be over two hours. Overall a disappointing experience that has felt more difficult than needed.

My daughter was referred to Psicon through Right to Choose in September. She had her ADOS in May. We then had her final appointment in June. Communication was good throughout the process and all the clinicians and staff that we met with were professional and friendly. Very pleased with the process and considering using them again for my son.

From the original referral through to the actual assessment, Psicon have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Their communications are clear and straight forward and they manage your expectations beautifully, which was very different to our experience elsewhere.

My youngest son was recently assessed for ADHD through Psicon, and overall the experience was positive. The referral process was very straightforward — I completed the required forms and sent them to my GP, who referred us to Psicon. From there, Psicon contacted both myself and my son’s school with the necessary paperwork and kept communication clear throughout. The waiting time for the assessment was reasonable, and once my son received his ADHD diagnosis, I was sent a really helpful information pack explaining the condition and outlining the next steps if we wanted to explore medication.
The assessment itself was initially a little stressful. The assessor came across quite stern and clinical at first, which made both myself and my son feel uncomfortable. I asked if he could speak in a slightly kinder tone, and he responded very well — he listened, adjusted his manner, and made the rest of the assessment feel much more supportive and relaxed. I appreciated that he took our feelings on board.
Overall, I found Psicon organised, communicative, and helpful. The process was easy to navigate, the outcome was clear, and I felt listened to once I expressed how the initial tone of the assessment affected us. I’m grateful for the diagnosis and the guidance provided afterwards.

The caller was polite and the call went well, but I personally feel that that the time taken over a video call is not enough to give a correct outcome. Myself and my child's school strongly disagree with the outcome and feel that a video call is not sufficient in making informed choices, which is a shame given the nature of the call and the need for an accurate outcome.

Daughter now in medication for adhd. Listened to at every step. Offered alternative meds for sleeping to help boost child’s learnings. Lady clearly knows her stuff in adapting meds for children. Very pleased.

We were referred to psicon through right to choose. We had been on a waiting list with another service but had never got anywhere. We was told our waiting time with psicon and excepted the time frame. Within 2 months we were offered our first assessment. And within a month our second with the clinician. What a relief and how amazing was the team and the process. I can't thank them enough. Just waiting on the report to come through which will be 8- 10 weeks for a child. But we have an official diagnosis now.

Rakel is great. I was worried about how my child would cope with the length and nature of the assessment, but Rakel struck a brilliant balance between making a connection with my child and setting them at ease, understanding and working with their needs, and getting the information she needed to make the assessment. My child had a great time (which is certainly not what I would have expected to say!) and for my part, I am very grateful for Rakel’s incisiveness and the insights she shared. We are moving forward with a greater understanding of what our child needs in life and that is the hugest relief. Thank you.

Credit to Rakel. I was nervous about how my son would respond to a stranger but from the moment Rakel met him, she made him feel safe and comfortable. Such a warm and welcoming lady who definitely knows her job well. She was also super patient with him. Thank you.
