We were referred to psicon through right to choose. We had been on a waiting list with another service but had never got anywhere. We was told our waiting time with psicon and excepted the time frame. Within 2 months we were offered our first assessment. And within a month our second with the clinician. What a relief and how amazing was the team and the process. I can't thank them enough. Just waiting on the report to come through which will be 8- 10 weeks for a child. But we have an official diagnosis now.

Rakel is great. I was worried about how my child would cope with the length and nature of the assessment, but Rakel struck a brilliant balance between making a connection with my child and setting them at ease, understanding and working with their needs, and getting the information she needed to make the assessment. My child had a great time (which is certainly not what I would have expected to say!) and for my part, I am very grateful for Rakel’s incisiveness and the insights she shared. We are moving forward with a greater understanding of what our child needs in life and that is the hugest relief. Thank you.

Credit to Rakel. I was nervous about how my son would respond to a stranger but from the moment Rakel met him, she made him feel safe and comfortable. Such a warm and welcoming lady who definitely knows her job well. She was also super patient with him. Thank you.

A very efficient and helpful service that I would definitely recommend to anyone needing assessments for their children.

Pretty quick to take your money, assessment call seemed like the easiest thing to 'pass' from my side of the table as an accompanying parent but then nothing... over six months (despite chasing emails) asking if medication was possible. Called and told no idea why no action or response made.
If we're lucky we will have medication 9+ months after diagnosis confirmed.

My daughter had her ADHD assessment today with Rakel Morenike via Teams, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of her. Even though it was online, she created such a calm and welcoming environment that immediately put my daughter at ease.
Her approach was so natural and understanding, and she really took the time to connect with her in a way that made her feel comfortable and heard. It’s not easy for young people to open up in these situations, but Rakel’s warm and reassuring manner made a huge difference.
She was incredibly thorough, professional, and genuinely caring throughout the whole process. You can tell she truly understands young people and wants the best for them.
We’re so grateful for such a positive experience — thank you so much.

Psicon were amazing and made my son and I feel very comfortable through the whole process. The wait time was less than a year. We were told at the final assessment that my son had Autism. All the staff were amazing, from receptionist, through to the OT, to the final doctor. I can’t thank you all enough.
Even since the diagnosis, we received an email confirming the diagnosis in writing. My son and I were also sent seperate information packs explaining further about Autism. My son is 9 so the document was age appropriate for him and he felt comforted to read it, as did I.
We are now just awaiting the final report which is sent within 6-8 weeks.
I’m so glad we went with Psicon and would highly recommend.
When I asked my son what the Autism diagnosis meant to him he said “Hope”.

As a late diagnosed woman with ADHD I was unsure of my diagnosis causing some confusion and confusion. I was fortunate to speak to Krystal when discussing the possibility of medication. She was so supportive and understanding and explained the symptoms I was describing were very likely to be related to ADHD. She has been a huge support and I have no hesitation in recommending her to others.

Rakel assessed my daughter on sunday and she was absolutely amazing with her . She put us all at ease , took the time to really listen & make my daughter feel comfortable enough to open up .
Would highly recommend using psicon. The wait times are not as half as bad as i expected & weve already had proof of diagnosis sent to us & just waiting on the full report. Thanks so much 🤩

Psicon has made my son’s ADHD diagnosis much easier to understand. They have been very helpful, responded quickly, and always got back to me promptly with any questions or enquiries I had. The support throughout the process has been excellent.

I’d like to state first that I am not a private patient with Psicon, or RTC, I was placed with them automatically by the NHS when the assessment pathway I was registered with shut down a year ago. That may have affected the service provided to me.
All the support staff I have interacted with across the queries and bookings teams at Psicon are incredibly kind and friendly, however where things fall apart is a lack of timely, concise communication. There is a pattern of having to chase for updates at every turn, and zero consistency, both in the people you speak to, or the information you are told. Psicon’s management seem to have set their staff up for failure as each team does not seem to be aware of their own team's or others' processes or policies, and they appear to be overwhelmingly understaffed.
My assessment was the worst experience I’ve had with a mental health professional. My assessor was 20 minutes late to the appointment, frequently checked notifications on their phone and watch whilst I was speaking, and left the room twice to take phone calls during the session. When speaking themselves, it seemed like they were reading from a script. If I asked for clarification on questions asked, they chose to read the question again rather than helping me to understand what information they were looking for. The latter half of the assessment seemed to be a speed run of yes or no questions without any opportunity for me to provide context, and I was interrupted if I attempted to do so. They also misquoted me multiple times later in the session.
I did not receive a result at the end of my assessment, and was given ‘inconclusive’. However, instead of breaking down the specific reasons why or giving me other areas to research that may be more relevant to my situation, I received a strongly delivered monologue about how recent ASD/ADHD diagnosis rates are the new prozac epidemic, and even a comment about how their colleagues “ask me all the time why I don’t just diagnose people, because wouldn’t it be easier?”. They then called directly to their level of seniority as the sole reason why I should trust them. I don’t believe any of this was appropriate to say in an assessment scenario and if any of the comments are in fact true, it does not present Psicon’s clinical team in the best light. Nor was this a constructive use of the time allocated for my assessment.
I have now been in limbo for four months waiting for a conclusion, and I’ve been given conflicting information by everyone I’ve spoken to regarding what type of appointment this will be, who it will be with, how it will be conducted, and when it will happen.
Initially I was told by the enquiries and clinical teams that I would not have to see the same clinician again given my experience, so I submitted the supplemental information requested to assist with the inconclusive decision, believing this to have been passed to the senior clinical team as this was what I was told. I have since had multiple calls from the bookings team attempting to book me in with the original clinician. I would not have submitted anything further had I been told this would be the case, as I am incredibly uncomfortable giving the original clinician any further insight into my life.
The only options provided to me as a solution by different people in the clinical team at a later date were to either speak to this clinician again for a conclusion, or to receive whatever notes are unfinished from my initial inconclusive assessment so I can raise a diagnostic dispute.
Unfortunately, the latter could result in my complaint being dismissed, and I would then be discharged from the service with an inconclusive result. Whilst I later managed to get the clinical team to allow me to opt out of a follow up call with the same assessor, and request my conclusion in writing instead, these choices forced my hand into allowing someone who has made me feel incredibly dismissed and uncomfortable to read through my supplemental evidence in order to complete the assessment process. The lack of formal processes for dealing with this scenario seems like a massive oversight in Psicon's approach to patient safeguarding.
Edit: I have now received my conclusion report, which lacks any depth and includes no recommendations for further support that wouldn't be easily found on page one of an online search.
I would not recommend choosing Psicon if you have the option to pick a different provider.
If you are already registered with Psicon, the name of my assessing clinician is not found across any of the positive reviews posted here on Trustpilot. If you cannot find a positive review of your named clinician on review sites, I would recommend declining and requesting an alternative person to give yourself the best chance of having a positive experience.

We were given clear timelines throughout the process which were accurate (or shorter than expected). We were also emailed periodically during this time, with support agencies signposted.
The assessment itself was conducted by staff who clearly know how to engage with children. My son seemed happy and calm throughout. Outcomes were clear at the end of the process.

Wow! This service is amazing! Their wait list for my son was only three months and helped every step of the way, keeping us informed all the way though. The waiting rooms were calm and lounge like with a fish tank and toys for my son which made the whole experience a positive one for him and us. Highly recommend!

i went with Psicon with right to choose as i needed to get a diagnosis quicker than the other service we originally referred to, so i went through Psicon instead. I had to travel for the appointment I do not drive luckily I found a coach trip that was on the day of appointment the team were really accommodating with this and made things as easy as possible. They arranged the second part to be by video, which helped a lot Everything was handled clearly, professionally and with good communication throughout we are at the moment just waiting for the outcome notes which i was told can be 6 to 8 weeks to receive them.
