Tons of equipment, friendly staff (well, mostly) and people who go there always seem mostly nice. Been going for a little over a year now and it's a nice place, don't think I'd go anywhere else

I am one of Puregym members for many years now...been using it in London for many years and now in Andover since we moved here 3 years ago...
None of Puregyms that i have used don't have such a not adequate atmosphere (the background music barely can hear it or none...when are classes you can hear the instructor shouting all over the gym).
The toilet is very poor clened smelly and the soap dispenser it's broken for the entire 3 years since i start coming to this gym.
The cleaning station most of the time doesn't have liquids to spray onto the tissues in order to clean after using the equipment and the bin bag it's always overflowing.

Showers have been broken (freezing) for months, never actually been hot in the ladies for the 2 years + i’ve been a member. Now sourcing an alternative gym to join as i need to get clean after training. Such a shame Puregym corporate don’t care about their clients as the staff at Andover are lovely but can’t do anything about the gym failures such as broken equipment, ablutions, wifi without some corporate authority which is never forthcoming.

No hot water for 3 months. It’s freezing outside!

Mens changing rooms are disgusting. Holes in the wall where someone has punched it. Dirty and smell awful. The gym is really busy in peak times. I won't be renewing my membership.

The overall hygiene in Andover pure gym is very poor, there’s a strong odour that’s noticeable as soon as you walk in and especially up stairs

Instruction is great but it would be good to have a more varied class schedule i.e. it would be nice to have a pump class in the evening on weekdays. Also yoga or pilates would be great. Otherwise very happy.

The equipment is in good condition. Most of the time there are no towels for wiping them down. The shower have not worked for a month plus the hair dryers are in the same state.

The gym is fully equipped and perfect for what I need. There is only 1 negative which is the showers lately have been very cold first thing in the morning…..

Been a member for sometime now, before joining Andover gym, I did research and read the reviews of which there seemed to be only one consistent and major complaint - the male changing room facilities and primarily the showers.
The changing room constantly wreaks of urine and the showers just simply don’t work.
I’ve had ONE hot / warm shower in over 6 months while attending the gym approximately 4 times per week.
Complaining to the ever rotating staff is utterly pointless as they simply don’t want to hear it anymore as they’re simply ignored by management, of which they freely admit don’t give a toss.
Management are a disgrace, never seen any regional or above personnel visit the gym, it simply operates on a pay your money, we don’t care basis.
It’s a well supported and busy gym but the disdain of which users are treated or considered is unacceptable.
If there was a relatively similar alternative I’d be off in a shot, which is similar opinion held by the majority of users.
On the basis of the above I can only rate the gym / company 3-10.
Note.
The response below by Pure is comical, no surprise they clearly have not read my review with any seriousness.. and is as I expected.
Say what you like about your intent etc.. the reality is at Andover..THE SHOWERS DO NOT WORK AND THE CHANGING ROOMS STINKS OF URINE.

Ease of access and never overcrowded. Good car park as well.

Multiple class cancellations with limited notice. Poor equipment not correctly maintained. Lack of certified staff.

I was a member of PureGym Andover for many years. My membership was recently terminated for an incident that took place with a former friend, who happened to be a member of staff at the time, outside of the gym and not on the gym floor. That member of staff was the subject of many complaints that the management failed to pursue due to personal loyalties. Said member of staff has now been sacked, as a result of my providing evidence to back up those years of complaints and allow nowhere to hide, PureGym have today confirmed they will not revoke my own membership termination, even though that incident took place between friends outside of the gym and he now no longer being a member of staff. Utterly disgraceful and I emplore anyone thinking of joining PureGym to reconsider. This poor management goes to the very top.

Nice gym has a lot of equipment but it is hot and sweaty in there as soon as you walk in needs air con, I am thinking of moving gyms because of this.

Reply from PureGym UK - Andover
Been a member for 12 weeks and in that time:
- Ladies toilet hand dryer has been broken the entire time.
- Aircon is never on. The place stinks and is so hot in there now the weather is improving that it makes me feel physically sick before I’ve even started. Tonight I was dripping sweat and nauseous after 15 minutes and I’d only done gentle seated hip ab/adductions and was contemplating leaving, and that was 5pm. I can’t face the idea of going at midday on hot days.
- When staff are there they’re never at the desk. Stood waiting 15+ minutes trying to flag staff about something but in the end gave up as had too much to do to keep waiting.
- Disabled parking is in no way enforced, regularly full of non-badge users leaving wheelchair users unable to access the gym and walking disabled like myself struggling to get in/out of regular spaces.

I go to Pure Gym 5/6 times a week and thoroughly enjoy the gym in Andover.
I mainly go to classes in the week and I find Ash and Vicky's are the most motivational and upbeat there! Great Music and they keep you going every second!
I do PT with Vickie at the gym also, and she is a fantastic teacher!
Things to work on:
- The parking 100% needs to be reviewed as is always chocka! Is there any spaces we can park if you are full?
- Spin bikes there is a lot in there that do not work which can be frustrating! Please can we look at this as means a lot of classes are full up with minimum people.
- The showers are FREEZING so this needs to be fixed please.
- Is there aircon? It is always super hot in there and smells horrible, with the summer coming up please can this be reviewed.
- I have also turned up a few times and my class has been cancelled but no one has emailed out...please work on this especially when you drive 40 odd minutes from work to get there!
- After loosing 6 stone I feel amazing but the scales are hit and miss often telling me I am 1ft lol.
Overall 9/10 but Pure gym just needs to fix a few bits for a 10/10 :) Would recommend

Good gym. But no air con as advertised always hot and sweaty in there and smells!!

Reply from PureGym UK - Andover
Please can you sort out the air con. It absolutely stinks of sweat in the Andover gym. It is so hot and stuffy that you get a sweat on even before the class starts let alone breathing in what germs are floating around in the stale air.
Asking staff at the gym, all they say is its on and controlled by head office. Well having been a member since it opened it is not working as it should.
Please remember that there are some of us who suffer from Asthma or other breathing issues, anxiety and as such a stuffy stale smelly environment in which to workout does not help.

Repeated surveys have not changed the urinals stinking, equipment out of order for months (steppers) and showers that are freezing.
