Great gym
Clean, tidy and not too busy. Showers are clean, warm and never had an issue with being too busy. Staff are helpful and give good instruction.
The reason for my review though is one of the instructors for the classes. Mox leads the class with enthusiasm, energy and encouragement which isn't easy at 6.30 in the morning. The energy she brings to the sessions gives me such a boost of motivation and makes the sessions really rewarding.

Really friendly and great gym
Great gym and all of the staff are amazing. Really friendly atmosphere. The classes are always brilliant and Mox and Kira are fab and really keep you motivated to get the best from each class. I was really anxious about getting back to the gym but I've been so surprised with how friendly and great Barnstaple pure gym is. Would definitely recommend.

Clean facilities with good equipment
Clean facilities with good equipment, although quiet a busy gym a lot of the time so not always Enough equipment to go round and often waiting for other members to finish before use of equipment is available

Great space to train in
Great space to train in, all the staff are happy to help and show you how to use equipment to make sure you get the maximum benefit and reduce risk of injury, the classes are excellent and allow you to work at your pace but with encouragement from the trainers to push for your best effort

The pure gym I frequent in Barnstable…
The pure gym I frequent in Barnstable at weekends we have noticed it is becoming grotty I am afraid to say . Skin cells , tissues , stains, smells, etc. these are noticeable. On the tannoy you pipe on about “deep cleans” I not sure this is what’s happening here . We are put off by this issue , and to rub salt in wound you have made our experience more expensive:/ so it would be good to see the problem improve.

Love the gym
Love the gym, reasonably priced, decent equipment, friendly staff. Unfortunately dropped a star due to the cleanliness of the showers in the mornings when I use them.

Difficult to get on some equipment at…
Difficult to get on some equipment at busy times. Only one bench press. No hip thrust frame so you have to use boxes or benches that move when using high loads. No room when there is a class on using the downstairs space. No roman chair which is handy for building ab strength. Assisted pull up handles are too wide for small hands. Staff are fab and friendly. It is great not having a contract and being able to use other gyms. Lots of helpful info on the app.

I never used to go to the gym, I've always been tempted to go and lose weight, I weigh more than I should and I've been going for 2 weeks, and the difference is immediately noticeable. I fully recommend going if you want to get lean and lose weight!!

Love the concept of Puregym
Love the concept of Puregym. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only criticism is that a couple more resistance machines would be useful, specifically chest/shoulder press as these seem to be constantly used, even on quieter times.

Loved the Sweat 30 class I went to
Loved the Sweat 30 class I went to. First gym class I had been to since before COVID and one of my first times back at the gym since October 2020. Instructors are super friendly, encouraging and accommodating to the different people in the class.

PureGym has enough variety of fitness…
PureGym has enough variety of fitness machines and equipment that is used to build up strength and secure weight in bother upper and lower body. The machines are easy to use than was I was expecting which is a positive. The personal training I have had has also been great as I have been shown clearly on how the machines and equipment as well as advice on what exercise to start on each day I arrive to the gym without training.

Great little gym but little being the key…
Great little gym but little being the key word, Barnstaple needs to expand into the unit next door. At peak times there are waits & queues for equipment, there's no spins section and only 2 normal bikes, come on pure, catch a trick and expand
