I used to really love this gym
I used to really love this gym, however these days the place has turned into a complete mess. Multiple machines don’t work and/or take weeks to get fixed, there’s kit all over the place, paint falling off the walls…it’s such a shame as it used to be a really lovely, pleasant and clean environment to train in. I know that lots of members feel the same way. The PTs are all lovely but something about the place has changed drastically

In a constant state of disrepair
Once upon a time it was good. Now, there's not enough plates to go round, machines stay broken for months, there's not enough benches or machines during busy times. More than 60% of the lockers are broken, the toilet doors don't lock, the cold water tap doesnt turn off because its broken, the walls are dirty and the paint is chipped. There was a hole in the wall in the mens changing room for months. Just looking very run down and uninspiring for the last year with no signs of improvement. The only saving grace is thr PTs at the moment. Let's see how long are they going to stay...

The Monday cycle class is phenomenal, the instructor changes it up every week so you get maximum benefit & work majors of anatomy. I look forward to this class weekly.

I love my gym
I love my gym, the only thing that could improve is if we had the late spin class every day rather than just Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and that the 45 minutes classes are actually 45 and not 30 or 35

Puregym Birmingham Arcadian Centre…
Puregym Birmingham Arcadian Centre (Digbeth):
Although I visited the gym during suggested hours to get someone for a tour, no one turned up after ringing the bell several times. No staff in the gym (facilities unattended) as far as I heard.
Also the phone number provided at the entrance doesn't work.
Poor management.
Apart from that, I finally found a gym in Birmingham not stinking, divided into three floors with plenty of equipment to workout anytime time of the day regardless the number of people on the gym.
The music is not the best (I can happily provide a few sets that everyone will enjoy) but the environment is above the average after 4 attempts in other gyms in the city.
This will be my gym while I am in Birmingham for the next year.

We are also sorry to hear this! We advise members to visit the gym for a tour Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm as this is when the staff are most likely to be around. We do not have open phone lines but Member Services can assist via email or social media.

Not great
Not very good access to water or pure water, the gym was okay but quite busy and the atmosphere was dull, no music and dodgy energy in the changing rooms.

I find this gym extremely clean and very tidy with equipment cleaned daily.
I use the gym on average 3 times a week and always found this gym to be accessible and the staff are friendly.
The classes are excellent and very full on too with clear instructions and confident trainers.
