This gym gets so busy
I used to think this gym was okay as there is lots of cardio equipment to use and lots of space, aircon works good (compared to Sutton Coldfield), but yesterday I was so annoyed. The gym was packed at 4.30. I couldnt even find an unused locker and was about to leave but ended up finding an empty one higher up. A lot of them had no padlocks on but clothes stuffed inside! The women’s changing room was just filthy. Didn’t see any cleaners about wiping down surfaces. Only reason I go here is because it’s close to work, but it just feels like a students gym.

The gym is good with lots of equipment…
The gym is good with lots of equipment and a big strength area, but once you go to changing rooms and toilets, its quite a mess over there sometimes. For me it's a big turn off! They should have more cleaning staff to care about this situation.

I've had a very positive experience…
I've had a very positive experience with Pure Gym. Although I had to cancel my membership due to an injury, they honored the 14-day cooling-off period and issued a refund without any issues. The service exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend Pure Gym to friends and family.

Almost every treadmill button is messy
Almost every treadmill button is messy. Either they don't work or if it gets pressed, it keeps on increasing/decreasing the speed.
I used the gym around 6 times and water dispenser was out of order for 2 times.

We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible.
If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can to discuss this further.

The gym was alright but I would like to have seen cleaning stations for the machines and that but there was none of that.

Great gym at Birmingham Snow Hill
Great gym at Birmingham Snow Hill. Tons of equipment and good classes. Always people around cleaning the place. Only downside is lockers in the changing rooms need maintenance, takes me a while to find one which isn't broken sometimes

Free pass won my heart
I went there on the free pass and I absolutely enjoyed my time . The equipment are constantly been cleaned and it has a lot of equipment available. I didn’t have to wait too long to use a particular equipment and the atmosphere is very welcoming. This is gonna be my gym definitely

Great gym
Great gym. Loads of space and equipment. I wish there were spray bottles throughout the gym with a mandatory spray down after each use policy for the equipment. Also a mandatory deodorant policy. This would greatly reduce the body odour.

Person sleeping rough, poorly maintained gym
There was someone sleeping rough inside the gym, in the studio area, which made me feel quite uncomfortable in the space. The equipment was very run down, missing medicine balls that all the PureGyms I visit have too, and so much of the equipment was left scattered around the whole gym. I travel a lot and have been to PureGyms up and down the country, and this was by far the worst I’ve visited. The stretching / yoga mats seemed very un-clean, and again, were scattered around the gym spaces. It was difficult to do my normal HIIT workout, and gather the equipment I’m used to finding quickly and generally felt like gym that was unstaffed and poorly maintained. Not one I’ll visit again!

Not enough kit
Not the best pure gym I’ve used. Not enough Olympic bars or plates to go around. Lots of standing about waiting for wannabe influencers on their phones. Plenty of running machines to be fair.

Snowhill - Don't use the lockers
The equipment is OK as far as PureGyms go and the atmosphere is much more pleasant than the Broad Street PureGym. The showers are also nicer than Broad Street PureGym. However the security
of the women's changing rooms in an absolute state. 90% of the lockers seem to be broken or seemingly hogged by selfish people who have locks on the only ones that work (seems like the rule about overnight locker use is unenforced). After just a few visits my locker was robbed despite having a padlock on it. Another woman's toiletry bag was taken by the same thief.
Thankfully I had no valuables in there but I go to PureGym to save money, not have £40 worth of skincare and personal care items stolen from a supposedly locked locker. The layout makes theft very easy. I think in future I'll go to a different gym where the lockers actually work. What a shame.
