Excellent Gym Experience with Professional and Supportive Trainers
I am very happy with this gym (Grafton Cambridge). The variety of classes keeps every workout interesting and enjoyable, which really helps me stay motivated and consistent.
I would especially like to mention Harvey, who is an excellent trainer. He is very professional, attentive, and genuinely cares about everyone in the class. His positive attitude and dedication make every session both effective and enjoyable.
I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a supportive and well-organized environment to work out.

Reasonably good value for money
I have been using PureGym for almost four years now. Their pricing is competitive and affordable, with enough purchase options to maintain flexibility (there has been some price increases throughout the years but understandable due to inflation).
While reasonably good value for money, I would advise Puregym to focus on two major areas:
1. Ensure more attentive cleaning of all areas. For example the spinning machine area, thanks to the angle of lighting, reveals crusts of dirt and dust that is almost never mopped or hoovered
2. While difficult, members of staff could and should discourage antisocial behaviour in the gym (e.g. being excessively loud despite the already fairly loud background noise, groups of people occupying equipment and chatting despite not actually using the kit etc.)
Overall, a decent gym for its price, but plenty of scope for affordable improvements by being better managed

We want to provide our members with a safe space in which they can get a great workout in and do so, in a clean and friendly environment. We do our very best to ensure that our prices are affordable because we believe everyone should have the chance to experience the gym.
Where possible, we ask that members share equipment between sets, to ensure that all members are able to get the most out of their workout. Although sometimes this isn't possible, we do ask that other members are taken into consideration when taking breaks between sets.
If you have any specific concerns relating to this matter, please speak with a member of the gym team where they will be able to assist further, however we are really happy to hear you enjoy using the gym overall!

Excellent joining and first day workout experience. The gym is clean, proper lighting and sound, excellent equipment. On the things to improve it would perhaps be helpful to see more information about fire evacuations.

I had to pay twice to gain access to the gym
I had to pay twice to gain access to the gym since it appears either I selected the disabled assistance category or the web page caused an error. I used two separate emails so hopefully I can be refunded the extra day pass I bought. Regardless, there should be a confirmation of disability selection with a notice that you will not be able to enter the gym during non-staffed hours.

Overall great experience!
Overall this gym has been fantastic and joining has been smooth. I got a good January deal and it’s a very reasonable price per month given all the equipment and most of the classes are included. I was able to book a very helpful induction session with one of the trainers. The only thing that threw me was that I turned up at the gym the first time expecting there to be a reception, with staff I could talk to about membership, but there’s no reception (just automated entrance doors which you need a code to get through) and when I tried pushing the button for attention nobody came. Now I’m a member I understand the system and entering the gym is no problem, but it’s quite off putting to visitors that there’s no way into the gym to make enquiries.

Creeps everywhere and always…
Creeps everywhere and always understaffed didn’t feel safe there. Over the course of a year I had more than 10 times feeling harassed and a actually saw a guy with full clothes on including a coat in summer stinking so bad using all the machines, as usual no staff there to supervise!

The gym is a bit small (grafton centre). It’s a good Location however the value compared other less expensive pure gyms I have been to is bad. The opening hours are limited, consider reducing the price perhaps due to the lack of 24/7 access.
Staff is nice and equipment is what you need - but the space is tight.

We're sorry we've not been able to open the gym 24 hours due external factors such as local licensing regulations, but we are always looking to extend the opening hours when possible so keep an eye out for updates.

Generous Gym
It is a very good and generous gym. The one I go in Cambridge is constantly being cleaned. On site showers/dryers/lockers/vending machines are all good. The equipment is well maintained and the variety is very nice and there is always space. Their app is perfectly designed, overall quite happy, value for money!

It has been 3 months and the hand dryer…
It has been 3 months and the hand dryer in women’s toilet hasn’t been fixed! Please fix it. Sink and floors get so wet and the tissue hand roll placed near sink is always wet.

PureGym in Cambridge
Went to Cambridge Grafton PureGym with my daughter for the first time. The changing room is clean. Great facilities. Joining in terms are quite flexible. Opening hours aren't 247 but I think it's still good as we went in on Sunday afternoon at 5pm and came out at 7pm and saw people still staying and coming in the gym. Highly recommended!

I tried signing up for the membership…
I tried signing up for the membership and then at the last minute it asked me for a bank account number. I’m not British so I don’t have one, and that could’ve been warned first. Besides, there’s no data coverage in the area before entering the gym (so I had to scan the QR code and go downstairs to sign up)

For all Monthly direct debit memberships this does require a UK bank account. Alternative memberships include Day Passes (1/3/7/30 days) or a Fixed Term membership (3-12months) which can be purchased with a debit or credit card. Thanks, PureGym

Too busy
Far too busy. Not enough machine variety. I’m suprised they let so many people in the gym that quite clearly cannot accommodate the amount of people. Waiting for equipment. Not a pleasant work out. Maybe better other time of the day

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day.
