Review For Rahmel Hewitt-Powell
If you’ve ever managed to book one of Rahmel’s Ride classes, you already know that getting a spot is a workout in itself—everyone wants in! His Ride sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are incredibly popular for a reason. The classes are challenging in the best possible way: high energy, motivating, fun, and guaranteed to give you a proper workout.
Even though I have a spin bike at home, Rahmel’s class is one I will happily get out of bed for. His expertise, dedication and upbeat style make all the difference. I’m genuinely grateful to have such a fantastic instructor and class right here in my local area.
I’d absolutely recommend Rahmel and his classes—though that might make it even harder to grab a spot, lol! If you want a great workout led by an experienced and committed trainer, Rahmel is your guy.
Thank you, Rahmel!

I have had multiple issues with PureGym, Rushey Green Branch was once ran professionally. The gym went from Professional to very unprofessional, It really feels like a street gym for a certain type of person not welcoming for all. Over time I felt like I was in a wierd competition with others when all I was trying to do was boost my strength, recover from my eating disordered patterns and get healthy again. I felt judged because of my size, regardless of the bogus reassurance from the PTs, the sneaky unprofessional judgements from Tannika da Silva, The Gym excessive attempts to get more money out of me because my motivation would promote good buisness.Khi Rockall...the instructors working here are all full of themselves, ego driven and very unprofessional. its rarely about the client, I wouldnt reccommend this gym to anybody. Not only that, the customer service system is set to leaving all responsibilities to the gym branches and stands well out of the way for customer related issues. Ive made several complaints about the conduct of the staff here aswell as the hygiene at other branches. I have been back into a severe eating disorder pattern. During my time at Rushey Green There was even a point where I felt coerced to spend £900 for personal training with a PT Rahmel Hewitt Powell who knew nothing about Eating disorders, his policy said no refunds....that was all my savings on no real growth and such unprofessional service and scheduling. The managers here give way to unprofessional PT practices, allowing flirting as banter Nick Templar (while flirting with a guy during several boxing classes )and just soo many unprofessional standards. The Managers need to sort out the policies. When I had addressed this in person at the time it was like my complaints were strugged off. One of the managers Marcus Angel said, "it was soo long ago" while continuing to dismiss my complaint on some "bro code"level wlth the PT. This is a very polite review considering how much pain this has caused me in the long run. This is a long await review. The no care, no accountability and dismissal lead me to withdraw from all my progress and left me suffering in silence. that is why I left Pure Gym.

cc. In reply to your email. Yes fair enough you need to keep up with staff cost running cost and maintenance fees, thats a must. And you have given a month notice which is very reasonable. At my last gym before pure gym and smaller in size and demographic , they very much valued they customers and members and had end of term parties , competitions dj's a and other incentives , i v been pure a gym year now at Catford Branch, and I find some staff very motivating and others very dull and not motivating.
sometimes you need something outside of the your regular time table to energies and uplift people other wise the experience becomes very robotic.
And i dont mean to be personal or be dis respectful but I kinda feel the extra £1 or so , could also towards not just bills and fees but creating a environment that wants to be there snd part of the improvements to equipment and other activities. But thats just me. its just what I see. A very busy gym and lots of zombie type people not connecting heads down in and out _ and then the odd few up beat characters to help with building a uplifting vibe. Anyway its up you what you do and im just giving you some honest feedback from relatively new member. I hope this feedback reaches you in the best of health and more . Thank you for listening . b

A nice clean and tidy environment, plenty of free weights and assisted weights, better than it used to be.

I've had a really good experience at this gym. The staff are friendly and approachable, which makes for a comfortable environment. There’s a nice variety of classes available, and the instructors do a great job of guiding you through the sessions and correcting your form when needed. The gym is consistently clean and well-maintained, and I’ve never had trouble finding the machine I want, even during busier times. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience here and would highly recommend it to others looking for a reliable, local option that’s open 24/7.

Marcus, the manager at my local PureGym made me feel instantly welcome and explained everything very well and told me who would be the best PT for me.

I joined this gym on 30 July whilst visiting the area as the joining fee was waived. Plenty of equipment to use but some are used more than others, so a small wait is required.
Downside, there's a lack of clean down spray for the equipment after you’ve used it & the showers are not the best, very smelly and the nozzles are in desperate need of descaling as the water sprays everywhere but where you want it.

Friendly staff, good amount of equipment, although there does seem to be only one leg extension machine. The changing room facilities are very clean.

Was having a good time in this gym the past few months until a new member of staff spoke to me very rudely. The staff member was Tannika (member of staff responsible for putting the dumbbells back).
She spoke rudely to me when I put the dumbbells back but in the space for dumbbells of another weight class. When I explained that I did so because the 20kg spots were all used up she cut me short. What did she expect me to do? Make space on the 20kg shelf and then put the original weights that were there back? Then the gym should hire me as this is tidying up the gym essentially.
Even when I complied and put the weights back again, she kept mouthing off on me and saying I will get suspended.
If the gym expects me to do this with such perfection, next time I see an unused barbell with weights still on, I will find Tannika and ask her to remove it as that would be reciprocative.
Besides, there is no reason to behave rudely with a paying customer or anyone for such a thing. Speaking nicely will get better responses thats basic human psychology.
Gym management is welcome to contact me regarding this incident by using the name from this google review and cross referencing with the client database. I will be updating this review with their reponse to this (if any).

Being disabled I did not like having to have to come in, waste my time just to be shown a few emergency evacuation doors. Being a professional I am aware of the legal requirements for me to have knowledge of the location of these doors.
I need the knowledge of the location of these doors but did I really need to physically waste my time when being given a map of these locations of the doors would have been a lot more effective.
