Needs to focus on Cleanliness
I recently had to join PureGym in Chippenham and the mens locker rooms and the wash rooms need more attention.
Because I go to the gym from work, i have to change and have a shower there and you can barely breathe due to the bad smell inside the shower room.
And the taps in the locker rooms stink as well.
The actual gym floor is very clean and the staff is great but that would be the only thing I would recommend them looking into.

Great place to work out but has issues
The gym is generally a great place to work out, it's kept clean and well maintained, however, there are a couple of issues that never get addressed:
1) There are a significant number of members who I know for a fact are under the age of 16. They regularly hog equipment in groups and therefore prevent legitimate members from using that equipment. The staff seem to turn a blind eye.
2) Some members leave their padlocks permanently attached to lockers thus preventing others from using those lockers. Again, the staff seem to turn a blind eye to this issue.

We have a strict age policy which is 16+ for health and safety reasons. Anyone believed to be under this age, will be spoken to by our team, however if you do have concerns regarding this please speak to the Gym Manager when you can and this can be investigated further. Under age members are a significant issue
Really like the gym — there’s plenty of equipment, things are repaired quickly when faulty, the areas are always kept clean and the staff are great. However, there’s a major issue with underage members who come in groups, hog equipment and show absolutely no gym etiquette. Surely the staff could check IDs on a member’s first visit to confirm their age and/or carry out random spot checks. As I said, I do like the gym, but this is a significant issue.

Pure Gym Easy to join
Joining was easy on line with simple instructions and well configured menu's. Already booked induction and several classes.

Be careful at checkout when paying for your membership
At the last moment they changed my membership and put me on a plan to pay more and now I can’t change it back.

Infuriating app and website
All the stars for my great coaches and facilities at my branch. Beyond that, terrible, infuriating app that crashes, website crushing all the time, and the tech support is literally non existent. You have no direct access to any membership options besides upgrading, and good luck if you have a tech issue. Emails are sent out without the right links, so even if you wanted to book a PT you can't!! Get a move on and do something about it. Add some more good people in customer services and invest on some IT for goodness sake!!!!! We don't have time to be faffing about every little thing!!!

Never going back
So so overcrowded, dirty, no staff anywhere, no clear reception. Booked in for a starter lesson/ guide around the gym and nobody turned up. No machines avalible. No paper and spray to clean any machines when done. All gym equipment really outdated. Never going back.

Our gyms are indeed very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website to see how many people are in the gym.

I’ve not renewed after my first month. It was cramped, impersonal and without character.
It would be improved with bike shelter outside the gym and a larger changing room (cleaned more often).

I found the Puregym App very easy to use.
However, I wasn’t offered an introduction with one of your Trainers? I had to search for a
session.

We always advise that new members have an induction to ensure they are familiar with the lay out of the gym and understand how to use the different pieces of equipment. Inductions are usually placed on the class time table.
You can also get in touch with the Gym Manager via email, and an induction can be arranged for a specific date and time.
Alternatively, members are able to speak to the staff in the gym (if they are not on the gym floor, please feel free to knock on the staff room door) and have an induction. Thanks, PureGym

No customer service
There is no restriction on the amount of time you use the gym but there is a parking restriction which resulted in a £100 fine. There is no signage to make members aware that there is a parking restriction. I contacted Puregym but they are not interested in any issues I am having. I suggest that there is some kind of message reminder that could be sent to members who are in the gym when their parking allowance is about to expire. They are happy to take your money but not interested in helping with any issues you may be having.

PureGym don't have control over parking pricing, timing or fines because most of the car parks are owned by seperate external companies not associated with PureGym .
Many of our Gym's provide free parking if you validate your registration plate and parking at the tablets within the gym. For the branches this is applicable, it is explained with signage throughout the gym and on the specific gym homepage.
We recommend appealing the fine, via the steps outlined in the letter you received from the parking company, screenshotting your attendance log from your members area as proof .
