Too busy and not clean enough
I have been going to pure gym on and off now for 4 years, the cleanliness has gone down hill, there is never any member of staff to talk to, you might see 1 or 2 but they are doing PT lessons.. And the gym is so over crowded, I used to go at 6am, really busy, I now go at 9am or 3pm...3pm there is no point as its so over crowded with students taking pics or videos of themselves so you struggle to use any equipment, I also can no longer shower there in the mornings after my workout as there is always a male cleaner in the changing rooms..Therefore ive decided to leave and work out from home, the roof also has been leeking in several different places for months

Good experience for first visit
My first visit to Colchester Retail Park Gym. Lots of equipment and clean. I did a Mind class which was great. Very welcoming and friendly instructor

It was my first time in this gym and i felt nervous at first but everyone made me feel very welcome and they were all very kind

Toilets really stink
Toilets really stink — both male and female. The smell is strong and unsanitary. If regular cleaning or maintenance was scheduled, the gym should’ve been closed until it was sorted.

Not enough variety with people who know what they’re doing.
I left pure gym due to the lack of good classes & instructors. A couple years ago there was step (with Lizzie) which was amazing fun. You need fun classes to get people through the doors that will stay. We don’t all want to do the weight training thing.

Immaculate gym
Immaculate gym. Always clean, staff friendly and are always cleaning. Good amount of equipment. Please do something about members hogging equipment, dead scribbling on phones. This is frustrating especially when gym is busy. Standing waiting for equipment, when people are just playing on there phones. Some signage to ask people to be considerate, would be helpful.

Where possible, we ask that members share equipment between sets, to ensure that all members are able to get the most out of their workout. Although sometimes this isn't possible, we do ask that other members are taken into consideration when taking breaks between sets.

Purchased once, no pin was given but payment was taken, then bought another day pass, got a pin but was immediately told my membership had been blocked

All my experiences are good At pureGym 🏋️♀️ everybody is very friendly and upbeat. The classes are great. It gets a little busy at times. Always have no trouble parking and have the option of 2 to 4 hours depending on what I’m doing.👍🏻

Decent first visit
Good facilities available, lots of stuff I enjoyed using. Very busy (not your fault) but must say it was rather hot, like uncomfortably hot

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day.
Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym.
Temperatures in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Thanks, PureGym

First time at PureGym Colchester
First time at PureGym Colchester. I try to use running machine. Two available but surprised not working, no staff available to help. I cancelled the membership after that.

We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club.
Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken.
We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible.
