Great local gym
I love this gym. Has everything you need. Just the right amount of people, who are friendly as well. Just needs to be a bit cleaner. It's the only thing that lets it down.

Boxing day opening times not as advertised
I have been a member of puregym since spring 2024.
I invited some friends who had come from a distanceto visit with me on boxing day) they planned to takea free 3 day pass. The app said the Knaresborough gym would be open inormal hours on that day. When we arrived at 5.30 it was all in darkness and a sign showing Xmas opening hours in the window saying it had closed at 4pm.so I had to take them to Harrogate puregym so they would not have had a wasted journey. This meant I had to swap to upgrade my membership for this one visit. I raised this with puregym who basically said I was lying about the Knaresborough gym closing at 4pm on boxing day

We adjusted our opening hours over the festive period to give our staff some much needed time off with their families.
Whilst we do usually operate your gyms with “unstaffed hours” throughout the year we have a huge team behind the scenes ensuring our members are safe in our gyms, they need time off too!
All gyms specific opening hours would be displayed inside your gyms during this time. I can confirm Knaresborough was operating on Boxing Day between 8am-4pm.
Any unused Day passes during this time can be re-booked with our Member Services team. To re-book you can reach out to them via email or socials. Thanks, PureGym

Lack of atmosphere and unable to readily get on equipment. Too many people on phones instead of training. However, the facility gives me everything I need for a good workout

Unfortunately, we are unable to monitor the usage of phones in our gyms, however if people are sitting on equipment we would strongly advise approaching a member of staff on the floor who will be able to help further.

I joined up for Knaresborough
I joined up for Knaresborough. Joining was just so no fuss compared to some other gyms. Just complete autonomy to do what felt best for you and able to do everything directly online myself and get set up straight away. The app is great, so that worked immediately and is straight forward and great to use.
Everything r.e memberships and signing up was so clear. Facilities in Knaresborough are great. Always had a really good experience with Pure Gym
