This is the worst pure gym ever ! The building is old and no natural light, dirty gym , smells bad, Man's toilets are very dirty, showers are dirty and smells bad . I don't like at all .

Penalty charge notice due to gym providing misleading parking information
I’m writing this review to highlight the poor customer service and lack of responsibility shown by the gym in Bermondsey. As a new member unfamiliar with the area, I followed the parking instructions provided on the gym’s website during one of my first visits, and still received a penalty notice.
Despite sharing screenshots of both the misleading instructions and the penalty notice, no action was taken. I also struggled to reach anyone who could address the issue properly.
This experience was extremely disappointing, especially as a new customer, and new resident to the area. I would not recommend this gym and suggest looking for alternatives in the area, as there are better gym providers.
Update 07/11/2025 to PureGym response:
It’s impressive how quick they are with replying to my negative review here, which definitely shows that the reason for not receiving any response from them when I flagged the problem with customer service was intentional ignorance. Additionally, their response totally ignores the reason of the fine, following their misleading parking instructions on their website, which I can prove with screenshots. Lastly, I have followed the process and appealed the penalty notice, showing pictures of the gym attendance, but the parking authority expectedly refused my appeal.
Therefore, I strongly advise Pure Gym to not provide misleading information on their website about using third party parking providers that offer parking for their customers, while there is no such agreement. I also advise that when situations like this happen, a company with such a reputation should at least take full responsibility over the mistake they’ve caused and compensate their customer accordingly.

The car park is operated by a third party company in which we do not have any affiliation with. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to cancel such tickets. Information regarding parking is available on the home page of any PureGym which offers parking. The correct parking procedures must be followed, to avoid a parking ticket. We would always advise that you appeal the fine and explain the circumstances. If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym. If your appeal is rejected, we would suggest submitting a case with POPLA. POPLA are an independent appeals process which works with the Ombudsman Service. They investigate whether this fine was issued correctly in accordance with the terms and condition of the car park; whilst reviewing evidence provided in the appeal. On the rejection notice, there should be a 10-digit verification code, and you will then be able to submit an appeal with POPLA via their website: http://www.popla.co.uk/poplaappealprocess. Although we cannot guarantee they will cancel the fine, we do hope for a positive outcome. Thanks, PureGym.

Very bad now
The gym itself wouldn’t be bad, but unfortunately there are no times during the week when it’s actually possible to train — way too many people and not enough equipment: 2 lat machines for 120+ people, 1 cable row, 1 chest press… (The team will just reply below saying to check the app for crowd levels). The managers put up signs warning that if weights aren’t put away after use, accounts will be banned — nobody cares or has been banned, it happens all the time even right in front of them and they say nothing… The gym becomes a dangerous place with weights lying all over the floor. Many rude people go there, refusing to alternate on machines. This place definitely needs a major upgrade, especially now that new buildings are coming to the area and over 1,000 more people will be moving in.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym

I haven’t tried the gym yet but upon registering Crystal the manager was very accommodating as I was anxious and nervous about joining but Crystal made me feel comfortable immediately!

Clean gym, excellent range of classes. The staff are approachable and the gym managers always make time to chat to members and answer any questions or help with equipment etc

I'm not happy with the help support because I tried to solve a problem yesterday and was unsuccessful, my monthly fee is being debited twice in the same month, I'll be going in person, talk to someone at the gym

Bermondsey PureGym is becoming really rundown. The bathrooms are always dirty and gross, the machines are old and dated and even the walls of the gym are falling apart.

Couldn’t gain any access to the gym…
Couldn’t gain any access to the gym 27th December. It was around 9:30 no staff was available to help, t he e customer service via app was not helpful. Doors will not open and I pay a full membership subscription and recorded a message stating that my subscription Doesn’t permit me to use the doors? Very disappointing
