It was easy to re-join, with a range of membership options which offered a reasonable price, and a good choice of gyms

I changed gym because I had time out with an injury & I wanted somewhere new & closer to home. It is impossible for me to not compare Better & PureGym, but in so many ways also unfair. Range and availability of equipment is good. Cleanliness is good. Main thing is different brand of equipment, which cuts two ways - what's expected, what's useful. Better have TechnoGym, PureGym have Matrix. I will adapt, but fond memories of TechnoGym kit.

Greenwich movement has been shocking recently! Studio class bookings being made last minute to ‘functional area’ which is a very small space and busy with other people on the gym floor and when I questioned the change the instructor said ‘are you worried about other people looking at you down here’ which is so unprofessional! If I wanted to use the functional area I would book a class in the functional area. If I book the studio I would like to have my class in the studio.
Friday lunchtime class cancelled with no warning when I have to travel there by train on my lunch break is just not acceptable. This gym is becoming a joke and unfortunately I’m cancelling my membership!

It is a place of relative comfort to achieve my fitness goals and was easy to use the equipment.

I would have given this gym a 5 previously (been coming here about 4 years). It used to be the less rough/noisy/intimidating sister to London Greenwich, the staff used to be so friendly & upstairs there was not loud music blaring. Yeah those days are gone. I was there this evening the music was unbearably loud upstairs, last week there was a young man rapping at the top of his voice the whole time I was in there ( I could hear him clearly through noise cancelling headphones) and the assistant said not one word to him. There's so many things wrong that I'm cancelling. Such a disappointment it's become like London Greenwich which is frightful.

All good, given 4* due to lack of music upstairs. They have music downstairs but not upstairs. This keeps happening every week.

All good with the gym so far but I consider it unacceptable to have a carpet throughout the gym for hygiene reasons ( I think this is the case across all your gyms ). Carpet shouldn’t be put in any area of the gym. Regardless how well/often is cleaned ( if it’s ever sanitised ) it’s still a carpet and definitely not suitable for a public space, especially a gym. I understand it may be the cheapest material to put on the floor but it should always be quality over price.

Great equipment and good locations, not too busy.
The only nuisance is the Protocol used by the personal trainers. Haven’t often seen this in other gyms where the PT keep a multitude of equipment occupied during 1 hour sessions. It’s very obtrusive to other paying members and seems to be PureGym protocol?
