Hello,
I am writing to formally request the immediate cancellation of my and my partners membership at PureGym Kingston and a full refund. My first visit today was extremely disappointing for several reasons:
1. There were groups of children entering five at a time using only one access pass. This creates a completely chaotic, unsafe, and unregulated environment. It is unacceptable for a paid gym to allow this kind of behaviour.
2. Regarding the lockers: being told I must purchase a £6 padlock was shocking enough, but the fact that this is required after paying a £35 membership fee is simply unreasonable and feels like an exploitation of customers. I have never seen anything like this in any other gym.
3. I am also convinced that many of the positive reviews for this gym are artificially inflated, because my experience does not match the high ratings advertised.
4. Additionally, when entering the car park, I scratched my car’s wheels due to the extremely tight layout. This is known to be one of the worst parking facilities in Kingston, and it is concerning that this is the option chosen for your members.
Overall, the visit was highly unsatisfactory and far below even basic expectations of a professional gym. As this was my first and only visit, I am requesting a full refund of all fees paid. I do not wish to continue with the membership under these conditions.
Please confirm the cancellation and refund process as soon as possible.

I like all the equipment
I like all the equipment, they seem to be up to date. However I don't like the fact there isn't any anti bac cleaning materials to clean the equipment and mats after each use.

PureGym prides itself on being able to offer state of the art fitness facilities to our members in a safe and welcoming environment. We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols, including the introduction of cleaning stations, to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste.
We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment.

A clean gym with good facilities
A clean gym with good faculties and functional areas. A good selection of classes. I had a great class with the personal trainer called Samuel, aka Sam. His energy and charisma made the experience awesome.

This gym feels unsafe
This gym feels unsafe. Every time I visit I see people who are not members coming behind others through the entry gates for free. Sometimes these people are with members and sometimes they are just chancing it behind strangers. It seems word has got around that the gym is free. I've seen people wandering around who are not even trying to use the gym, and are in the gym for other reasons unknown to me. Recently I observed one of the managers having to physically throw a group of young lads out of the gym who were just running around. I've seen this group of three a few times running around in their coats and jackets with no intention of using the gym. This is not a safe environment, The managers/staff should not have to act as security guards as I'm sure that is not in their job specification, and is extremely stressful to deal with. There is no point any manager replying to this review asking for dates and times of incidents so they can investigate, like they reply to others. I'm sure they know it happens all the time, so watching back their security videos in any 12 hour period will give them plenty of examples. Management can't ban members who break the rules if they never catch them. And they definitely can't ban people in the gym who were never members in the first place. This gym is unstaffed all weekend apart from a few hours each morning on a Saturday and Sunday - when the staff are running classes anyway. You can not trust the app that tells you how many people are in the gym as this just tells you the number of people who have swiped in, which does not equal the number of people in the gym due to the tailgaters. If a manager does reply to me with the reason why Kingston does not have the entry pods like any other PureGym I've been in, that would be more helpful and if there are plans to install them in Kingston. Those pods would alleviate much of the problem. It also seem disingenuous that several staff members have put reviews of this gym on Google reviews - which goes against the spirit of the rules on Google reviews.

Nice and easy joining experience. I could see the difference clearly between memberships. Opted for the basic one as I don't think I'll be taking any friends with me as guests and I dont need access to other gyms.
