I attended a scheduled GLC class on Monday, 22 December 2025, at 1:30 pm. Upon arrival, no one was upstairs, so I politely went downstairs to ask if the class was happening. The duty manager responded with aggressive, rude, and intimidating behaviour, raised his voice, made hostile gestures, and repeatedly denied I had even been there—claiming the cameras could be checked.
He then said the class could not proceed because only one person had booked. This interaction was completely unprofessional, intimidating, and disgraceful. It left me distressed, emotionally shaken, and unable to continue my day or follow through with my plans, including attending the gym before travelling.
On top of this, staff frequently arrive late to classes, yet members are reprimanded for even minor delays—a clear double standard.
I have cancelled my membership and will not return. No member should ever be treated this way. PureGym Marylebone must address staff conduct immediately.

No cleaning towels I'm the entire gym. That's just gross. I was forced to lay on benches where someone's sweat is still there bc there's nothing to clean the equipment with. For the price you pay this should never happen

The Leg Curl/ Ext machines were a bit less than ideal, especially if your foot is long as it kept scraping the floor if I wasn't careful, bit this is nitpicking.

So I paid and instead of accessing the app and being provided with a pin etc it reverted to start. I checked my email and I have a sales receipt for the payment - not great as I now don’t have my pin to access either the app or the gym

Sewanu Hotonu gave me a thorough tour of the facility and sold me on joining for my five weeks in London. I was very impressed with the physical plant as well.

I have been a member of this PureGym ever since it opened. I have returned after a long break and here are my thoughts:
1. There is a massive odour problem. As soon as you enter the floor you are met with a stench of stale body odour making it difficult to breathe. The air circulation needs to improve.
2. Self employed personal trainers failing to lead by example. I witness one constantly running from one end of floor to another. This is a health and safety risk, why is there a need to run here? Also why is it the self employed PTs are no longer wearing PureGym uniform?
3. I see members receiving trainjng from other members. I thought this wasn't allowed. Staff turn a blind eye.
4. Members failing to return equipment and clean after themselves. It is really disgusting to come to euipment that has sweat stains or sweat dripping.
The gym is wonderful, and the people are friendly. Shaquille has been very helpful in assisting me with my lifts and has taught me several techniques, making the process straightforward.

My gym is the one at Marylebone and originally I joined as it was close to me. However, I find myself avoiding the gym because of the smell. I would enter the gym and immediately want to leave. Furthermore the cleaning equipment is often missing and weights are a mess. It is still a functional gym with reasonable equipment. Just not an experience you necessarily look forward to
