Signing up via a bar code on the wall a pain. Returning payments taken unexpectedly,to long winded via league time of return emails.
Can’t be contacted via phone if there is a problem.
So will never use again.

Gym is terrible, management is terrible and PT called PK is a joke. Sereen doesn’t resolve any issues.

Thank you, Maria, for your kind words and for providing additional insight into the previous insidious behaviour. Your update was truly eye-opening. That said, I’m at peace with it now and view this degenerate group with a fresh perspective—perhaps even with a bit of amusement.
The PT we both identified as a bully is shockingly bad, isn’t she? Wow! She certainly made me feel uncomfortable on a number of occasions. Thank you so much for shedding light on her and the other staff. I feel much better now that I know about her past transgressions. She’s lucky I’m not the manager. I can’t mention her name again, as my review keeps getting flagged and removed. However, I’ll refrain from saying anything rude, keep this comment professional, and leave it at that. In the end, karma will catch up with them all.
The weights were everywhere I spent more time looking around the gym for them than working out. It's very dirty and the equipment has not been very well maintained.

I had hoped to attach video of a PureGym London Southgate staff meeting, alas that is not the case.
As a member, myself and others have been unjustly penalised, threatened, bullied and assaulted amongst many other things. Be warned, off-site staff do not care about the public and neither do many of their on-site gym staff.
The London Regional and Cluster managers may try to strong-arm you into a meeting whilst avoiding speaking with you directly via email. You may receive emails signed “Head Office”, then have any subsequent request to speak directly with anyone from Head Office ignored. When your goal is simply to share a plethora of evidence.
Should you make a subject access request, they may well claim data was accidentally deleted.
Toxicity seems to be endemic to their work culture, with little to no attempts at rectification.
If you are sexually assaulted, expect attempts to silence you. Have a quick look on Twitter if you're in doubt.
Just don’t go here.

Update: Thank you Customer b and I'm also so sorry about your experiences. It's such a shame to see the recent reviews pouring in. I know this has all been going on for a very long time.
Many have echoed your sentiments. PTs who make a job out of being around members. Most likely in the hopes of new friends or clients. Then go on to treat them terribly, habitually. Your review really upsets me, again I'm so sorry.
I agree that many of them seem to have a mistaken sense of ownership over the gym. I also do believe Cgbodyboost is a bully who seems to enjoy upsetting people. She's definitely not the only one. Though she has been at the centre of so many issues, particularly with women. Her ex member friend turned collegue who's in short shorts on the website for God knows what reason, is more covert, but almost as bad. You know when people are so similar but can't be friends because they don't like each other, that usually says it all. There are a few who are problematic.
I'm so sorry for how she treated you and you would also have had my full support. They seem to think PTs who are overgrown mean girls or who participate in sexual deviancy using work as their playground are A-OK, and their behaviour should be covered up.
It's disgusting, especially when they have a duty of care for the public. I do hope more people will share their experiences. From what I've heard and seen, it's been a whole lot of toxic nonsense for a very long time.
I believe Head Office are aware of what we've discussed. If they are not, that is the responsibility of their subordinates. They have a long list of complaints from myself.
At the very least it's someone's job to review these reviews. They know.
I'm so sick of the abhorrently poor treatment of myself and others. They do not seem to even understand the gravity of how they've treated people and how they behave.
I was really hoping things would change.
If this behaviour does not change, I will give the go ahead to publicise everything. Enough is enough.
Terrible dirty gym. Staff are no where to be seen.
One of the trainers Prakaash has tried to speak to
my girl on many occasians and she has now
terminated her membership. Inappropriate
behaviour seems normal from this trainer.
Outrageous behaviour witha management who
does not care! AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND GO
NEXT D0OR TO A LEISURE CENTRE.

Budget gym with unfriendly staff. Shocked at the behaviour of one of the pts called pk who spoke about clients and members as if they were objects. Absolutely unacceptable

The entry is a cluster during busy times and multiple people trying to enter as a guest had problems and there’s absolutely no help available real time. Also the women’s locker room and bathroom were dirty and there’s very little cleaning supplies in the workout areas to clean off equipment. Water is in short supply as well…plenty to buy though.
One of the massage bed doesn't work, and no one is care for it.
And, when I want to go to gim and the car parking is closed, I have to drive around to find a place to park my car.
The car parking is closed, because it is for the stuff only.
So, we - the clients give our money, but we can't park.
The stuff is taking our money, and has a car parking.
Is there something wrong?

Classes were great, but more varieties as we’re heading into the New Year. I particularly liked the Circuits class.

Atmosphere and staff great. Classes well managed.Gym equipment is now rather tired, facilities ( loos, showers) out of action for weeks on end. Maintenance of showers ( clearing drains/ smells ) needs improvement.

Pure Gym Southgate is a great gym with super friendly staff who are constantly cleaning and putting away equipment where users haven't put them back. It's also a very diverse gym which I love...

I am posting this review after reading a comment from a PureGym Southgate member who discussed harassment, GDPR, and the need for a safe, anti-harassment gym environment.
I experienced harassment and bullying from Antony Prokopiou and a gym member named Savina Lala after I stopped being Antony's personal training client. I initially agreed to a trial session with Antony during an induction in January 2023. After the trial, I decided to continue, but I regretted not checking the other trainers’ profiles. During one session, Antony treated me poorly, completely ignoring me while focusing on Lady Lala, even though I was paying for the one-on-one session. I was confused by their interactions. I was unceremoniously sent out of the gym at the end of that session by Antony, as it seemed he prioritized returning to Lady Lala over respecting his paying client. This showed a complete lack of respect for his clients, his profession, and his workplace.
After that experience, I decided to stop the sessions and train on my own, ignoring him as he clearly needed to be a better version of himself before calling on his clients to become better versions of themselves after training with him. Unfortunately, this is when the bullying and harassment began. Both Antony and Lady Lala would gossip, exchange glances, and snicker whenever they saw me. Antony would deliberately be present around me or walk past when I trained alone. I attempted to clarify any misunderstandings, but there was nothing to clarify; this was simply Antony taking out his grudge.
Unable to tolerate this treatment any longer, I reported the harassment via SafeSpace and decided to quit the gym, despite having a month of paid membership remaining. On the day I canceled my membership, Antony began showing up near my home. Soon, Lady Lala and former PureGym Southgate PT Diana St Hilaire also appeared. (Diana works as a senior project manager with the Croydon council )Diana gave me knowing smiles. My GDPR privacy was compromised, along with my training goals and personal address. The harassment continued outside of the gym, with Antony visiting, driving around my neighborhood, and honking whenever he saw me on the street. I felt like a prisoner in my own home, which caused significant anxiety.
In summary, I fully support the member who reported harassment and felt compelled to share my own experience. If anyone is considering joining PureGym Southgate and looking for a personal trainer, I recommend Ebenezer, Connor Ward, Jules Renner, PK, and Kadeem.
As for Serene Stewart, I believe there should be a focus on all lives, not only black lives. Antony needs to stop playing the victim and take accountability for his actions.
The fitness industry requires stricter regulations and perhaps a media expose to teach these trainers a valuable lesson!
Posting with a date of October 28 2023, unable to go back as far as 19th march 2023 on trustpilot which was the date of incident. Quit gym in June 2023.
30th October 2024 - sent email to safespace. I spoke to Fiona Wharmsby previously. If it's the same person again, I can guarantee a zero outcome.

It was very easy to re join the gym simply by clicking re-join button on my app. I like the flexibility of the app and the ease access to the gym. I also like the fact that there is no contract so we can easily cancel the membership via the app.
