Giampaolo Manca was 10 out of 10 with his service and professionality and his encouragement was what really got me to sign up

Just completed another class at St Pauls. Today’s was run by Giampaulo (gym manager) and he provided excellent technical guidance throughout to maximise the benefit of the experience. I’ve noticed over an extended period that he maintains a very visible presence in the gym and demonstrates a keen interest in making the experience a good one for members. Superb value for money!

I’ve been a member at PureGym St Paul’s for several years now, and I can confidently say that the quality of this gym has steadily declined over time. What used to be a convenient and decent place to train has now become an uncomfortable, frustrating environment.
First and foremost, the manager’s behavior is completely unprofessional. Multiple times, my friends and I have noticed him staring at us while we work out, making us feel extremely uncomfortable and self-conscious. This is not the kind of atmosphere you expect in a gym – it’s invasive, unsettling, and completely unacceptable from someone in a position of authority.
The equipment is another issue, the gym seems to be filled with unnecessary equipment, especially a ridiculous number of bikes that hardly anyone ever uses. Meanwhile, the functional or in-demand machines are left in disrepair.
Let’s not forget the lockers, which are barely functional – they get stuck or fail to lock properly, leaving you worried about your belongings while you train. It’s a basic facility that you expect to work without issue.
Despite raising concerns, nothing has changed. It feels like member feedback is completely ignored. I’ve watched this gym decline steadily year after year, and sadly, it’s now one of the worst PureGyms I’ve been to.
If you’re looking for a gym that respects its members, maintains its equipment, and provides a comfortable training environment, St Paul’s PureGym is NOT it.

There are trainers and there are professional trainers who know structure, form and strength. It is an art form to be able to train and conduct a class. He cares for all people in the class and adds a personal training touch to each individual. I have been attending Pure Gym for nearly a year. He is the stand out trainer. All the classes are very good but it is his way of training, there is no ego. His technical knowledge in regards to muscle and weight training is very advance.
His classes have structure, form and flow - the exercises run into each other seamlessly. The whole body is worked in a format that is balanced. He is very experienced, consistent and reliable. What you see with Wesley is what you get - A trainer who has a heart, is meticulously professional and a cut above everyone else. An asset to the Gym.
I have never had an injury and my body shape has changed and become stronger, leaner - slow and steady is his method. Wesley's friendly approach and work ethic makes everyone feel welcome and at ease. Don't be fooled you are there to work.
I hope his classes continue. I have learnt so much. Thank you. He is my choice for a personal trainer eventually; I just have to work a little harder....
Pure Gym - London St Pauls really is great on all levels. But Wes is a class act.

The bodytone class on Mondays is excellent. Aline does a very curated programme and is the best trainer! Love her workouts!

The staff are welcoming and talkative, the equipment is up to a good standard and the gym is rarely too crowded at peak times considering the size of it

This gym is ideal, as it’s close to work. It’s clean and amenable with a variety of equipment.
The staff are friendly and professional, supportive and approachable.
More floor space for stretching would be ideal when busy.

Sadly, there is a particular personal trainer that does not stop interrupting our work outs to say pointless things under the guise of health and safety. Me and my friends have been going to the St Pauls gym almost a year and no other PT or member of staff does this so there obviously isn't any issues with what we're doing. The complaints are clearly to start a conversation. Of course, to be a personal trainer you need to be personable but his over familiarity was off putting and because my friends were not engaging in his persistent conversations, this has turned into a constant telling-off for no other reason than to aggravate us.
The constant interruption from that one person who is trying to look 'busy' is not only irritating but mainly intimidating and ultimately not helpful. Due to this, me and my colleagues are all considering switching gyms rather than deal with the confrontational nature every time we gym.
Please kindly ask him to rein it in so that we're not forced to move unnecessarily.

Bad air quality. Bad smell in the air. Lacking plate weights. Equipment is old and dirty, especially the bars. No safety bars on the squat rack in the “functional” area
