Good prices, friendly and helpful staff. Selection of classes, but a bit annoying that some classes are just 30 mins. The timetable changes quite a lot though, so it's difficult to build a routine.
Male showers not working again. Probably 5th time in the last 6 months and this time it's been going on for over a week. I e-mailed members service, their suggestion is they can cancel my membership i... See more

Really easy to use, access code worked and the gym itself was week equipped and clean

Overall I like puregym facilities, but not Whitechapel. It's probably worst I ever trained in. Needs a proper cleaning, renovation, hygiene and new equipment.

The gym itself was great, but I got charged for a day pass despite having a code that said it should be free, and the total on the screen saying £0.

It was great, all facilities were clean and personal trainer Sam answered my questions and was super helpful.

Decent range of equipment, however some of it is beginning to look a bit tired. Availability of equipment was good when I arrived at 10:30 but by 11:30 it was getting quite busy, particularly the free weights area. I was disappointed to see that the Matrix elliptical machines appear to be older models that you cannot adjust the range of movement and they have limited programs.
Cancelling my membership. Very irresponsible and tone deaf of the CEO to express anti Palestinian sentiments whilst a genocide is in full force against them. The CEO needs to be sacked. If the CEO is sacked and the company apologises then I may reconsider joining.

Both manager and deputy we're really welcoming and friendly.

Honestly it has a lot of potential but a few things are lacking
1. The smell - AC is not working and has been 'looked at' for some time, never improves.
2. The damp - I'm pretty sure the downstairs has damp which clings onto your clothes.
3. The clientele - During busy hours, there is too many little kids laughing and standing around the bench instead of working out.
Otherwise, it has a decent set of equipment and space.

On Sunday the temperature is unbelievable hot, actually it could be even risky when working out.
On the other hand, no member or gymgoer uses a gym towel to lay on benches, seats or chair backs and this is a public health issue: people's sweat and humidity is the perfect envinronment for germs and bacteria to grow. And I will not comment on how it feels to sit down or lay on somebody's sweat or the smell you get. This measure must be compulsory without hesitation. It is compulsory in all European countries and gyms. It is a question of public health and gym etiquette. And no excuses please saying the gym managers in the room keep everything clean because they do not and cleaning is not their duty. I was shocked.
Finally it is publicly well known the continuous material disorder which makes users waste time. Gym etiquette again.

Very sad that I bought a plus membership but can not bring friends to exercise

This review is about classes only as it to attend them that I joined the gym. The classes are often cancelled last minute, if at all. It happened regularly that I just showed up and the class was cancelled even though it was booked. The quality of the classes, when they happen, is good, but this management issue made me leave this gym and the group after only a few months. Regarding the reply, this should be investigated internally and not me to chase. I emailed when I first had the issue and was told I had to go and see the manager at the gym. No contact given and I have never found him.

Really friendly staffs, well managed equipment and lots of variety of exercises and workout to choose from.

Showers can’t be used after 11pm.
Adverts all say 24/7 access so assuming to showers and changing rooms as well.
But no, even after speaking with customer service the issue wasn’t resolved.

Things have improved vastly at the gym. Staff are engaging and friendly. Staff turnover is less and team seems stable. Giampaulo has done an excellent job managing.

13 days and counting and all showers are still out of order. Manager is hard to contact. And when the showers are working, you cannot use it between 12am - 5am which is the time I would like to go.
