A really simple joining process without the need for a longterm commitment plus the app includes great home workouts and workout plans that are all included in the price! Great value.

Hugely oversubscribed for such a small gym, spend most of your time waiting to use the very basic equipment staff are however friendly. Ab Salute is opening in town, hopefully that will improve things.

Great atmosphere, Well managed and friendly.
I have been training for over 60 at gyms around the world and this is one of the best gyms for friendliness and help from staff should you require it i have belong to. Not as much variation of equipment due to size but perfectly adequate for new to training, cross training to keep fit and strength training.

Before I begin, it seems that things have not really changed since my last review of the same gym a few years ago.
Basic medium sized gym, open 24 hrs per day, good location next to 3 large supermarkets and lots of free parking outside. If you are looking for something flash with sauna or steam rooms - this is not it.
Can get a bit overcrowded at certain times - but that is normal.
Staff need to be more friendly and approachable. You feel as if you cannot ask them about the equipment i.e. safest or best way to use it effectively. If you do, they try to get you to sign up to their personal PT business. They never ask you if you are ok or if you need any help. They only time that I see them interacting with anyone, is if they are doing a 1-2-1 PT session or holding a class.
The toilets and showers are ok I guess. I rarely use them.
Overall, the whole gym could do with a spring clean. As its on an industrial type shopping estate, the ceilings are very high and when you are doing floor exercises and look up, you can see years of dust and cobwebs high-up on the ceiling. I am sure that this not good for the air quality.
Overall, it is not a bad gym. Just needs some TLC and some staff who are not afraid to smile and interact a bit - otherwise why are they there??
Oh and please change up the music a bit. Even if its Heart or Capital Xtra or something. That club/dance music sometimes gets too much.

I’m sick of this gym. Recently joined but will be leaving. It’s always crammed full with groups who are either talking or on their phones most of the time taking up equipment they’re not using. It seems to be the accepted culture that equipment is just left laying around rather than re-racked. Then there’s the showers and toilets…absolutely vile and I’m not exaggerating. The toilets are frequently left unflushed, urine over the seats, toilet roll on the floors and as for the showers, I can’t even imagine what people are doing in them to leave them in the state they’re in! Yesterday I went in and there was some sort of black liquid over the shower floor, up the walls inside and outside the shower. No way did whoever left it there not know, but the thing that’s done it for me today is coming in and yet again smelling Cannabis throughout the gym. It’s not ok. It’s bad enough having that smell forced in your nose everywhere you seem to go in the street nowadays but there’s absolutely no place for that in a gym and evidently no one there to encourage the customers of Puregym to have any respect for the gym or other customers so I’m out. The only positive I will say is that the staff who are there are really friendly and approachable so this is not a criticism of them directly as this is largely an unstaffed gym. But maybe it needs staff when the customers behave like this.

To be honest the day fee of £10 is a joke, the lack of space used for more equipment is crazy.
Waited around more trying to get on anything than I did work out
Feel completely let down by this gym
Never walked away so deflated in a long time. Would like to know how I could get my money back it was that poor.

I wouldn’t recommend going to puregym I tried a free pass to see if I wanted to rejoin but glad I didn’t. I went at 9pm hoping it wouldn’t be too busy but unfortunately not a lot of machines and was left trying to wait for leg machines and squat racks to be available… people hang on machines for too long stopping anyone else being able to use the gym.
Glad it was only a free pass..I won’t be returning and will look at alternative gyms

£9.99 is expensive for a visitor session. My husband has a membership. Shame I couldn't join him for a cheap option on my first time.
I'm not a gym enthusiast like my husband. Just trying to get fit and started slimming world. Busy nurse and mum.
No Bluelight discount for a one-off session sadly.
I enjoyed the equipment and the atmosphere. The gym is clean and well kept.

Good gym but hard to get on machines when a few a people are in the gym, especially leg machines.

I use the gym 4 to 5 times a week and it’s ingrained into life style now. I have a personal trainer 3 times a week and without the care and knowledge he has imparted, I’d have injuries. Thank you PureGym for all of your help and support.

First the negative things: some equipment needs an upgrade and has wearing issues. It's not serious, just odd. There is a shortage of light dumbbells, no dip bar and lockers have ruined locks. Now the positive notes: the gym is well organised, the staff very kind, toilets are clean - this is very important and a big plus!

This is a really friendly gym. Big thanks to Ella for a brilliant induction. She is so motivating and was a big help after a number of years away from exercise. Just what I needed. I see her when I'm there and she always checks in. I've since recommended to others
