Decent gym, good atmosphere
I've been going to pure gym for a few months now and I enjoy it. It's definitely not as big as it should be regarding equipment (there are way too many treadmills in comparison to weight lifting machines) and it often gets very very busy so you can be waiting for a bench for a couple sets on weekends or when the kids are off. I was a complete novice to lifting but I have managed to gain a lot of confidence as the staff are friendly, and there is a good atmosphere in the gym mostly (a part from a few individuals but you will find that anywhere) overall it's a good experience.

A gym without air conditioning
Probably the only gym in the country without air conditioning the whole summer. We have been asking for fixing the air con the whole summer but it’s been moving on without it. The gym is well located and it makes it very popular but no ones is responsible for us sweating in and the smell and lack of oxygen

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers.

Everything is good
Everything is good, but the lockers are old, most of them broken and uncomfortable. They really have to be replaced.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

Equipment is not updated since opening 6 years ago
Location and opening hours are great for flexibility but the Equipment is not updated. Most of the machines are not advanced like some other gyms.

The gym is over capacity on a daily basis and needs a reestablished set up, as a patron I would recommend reducing some of the cardio space on both the 1st and 3rd floor to expand additional training space for users.

The gym is always clean which gives a positive vibe.
Especially Shawn and Juan , who makes sure that gym is nice and clean always.
Always feels good to speak and learn from Shawn and Juan.
I haven’t spoken to any trainers but I am sure the trainers are good resource for gaining knowledge on diet , training and nutrition.
Forgive me if I haven’t spoken about anyone.
PureGym for me is like a second home.

Good amount of equipment, friendly staff and easily accessible. Because of this it can get overwhelmingly busy especially during peak times, which can’t be helped. Unfortunately there are a number of flaws. Firstly, not enough done to stop ‘gym bros’ (even some staff) leaving the place a tip after exercises which ruins the experience for others. Use the CCTV if necessary, give them a warning and if repeated, ban them. Secondly, the hygiene stations are sometimes empty which is inexcusable and could be a reason why people don’t bother wiping equipment down. Lastly, there is the odd piece of equipment thats poorly maintained and could do with either being repaired or replaced. Overall, deserving of three stars.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this.
If you have any concerns/specific feedback we advise raising these with the Gym Manager so they can take a further look into this.

Limited mat space and not many squat racks for the amount of people that are there as it gets very busy so there’s limited equipment you can use.

Way too crowded!!!
Way too crowded! Impossible to work out at normal times. Only possibility is like 7 am or 11pm. If you’re gonna allow that many people, might as well make the area larger and buy More machine/equipment. One of each is not enough for the amount of people that come daily.

The team will also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, from dumbbells to treadmills and everything in between, so you can train with confidence. We've installed new self-cleaning stations so you can clean your kit before and after use, for added peace of mind. Cleaning stations are located in all key areas of the gym to make it as easy as possible.
