Everything was simple and the rules clear and everyone was so nice and helpful. I’m not sure what’s to say but my first impression is a good one.

I think it’s been a great experience for me and my partner considering we’ve never used a gym before and I think it has a lot of equipment to use and everyone is friendly and you don’t feel like your being looked over all the time. I think the app is great as well it gives you all your workouts that you could use at the gym and it even gives you different healthy meals to make

Newport Gym - Staff are great, but gym is outdated and feels forgotten about by PureGym. No real updates a couple of years now, feels as though all money has gone into Cardiff. Equipment is basic (which is fine) but often kit is out of use for a number of weeks, and no signs of adding any new kit in, which would be great during busy times as often there’s a wait for equipment. Most lockers in the changing rooms are broken and have been for a number of years. Weights section is fine but lacking racks. Would be great to see some improvements to the space that many other PureGym’s seem to have had. If it wasn’t for convenience and the only 24/7 gym in the area, I’d be going elsewhere.

Whist I have not been able to attend my local Puregym as often as i would wish, I have noted it looking quite shabby and run down on my last few visits. Some of the weight lifting equipment have parts missing which renders them partly or totally unusable, some of the lockers look smashed up and the showers which were renovated earlier in the year are already looking care worn.

Could do with more variety in equipment ie like a sled, I've been going to the gym for over a decade and I play rugby I believe more variety will not only help local gym goers but seasoned lifters too

Not happy with the changed timetable.
I usually train mon-thurs about 5-7pm. I do spin and then my own workout. I used to do a core class once a week. This is not now possible as both times there is a core class but it overlaps with spin. I have mentioned this to several members of staff for the last month and nothing has been done. There should not be an overlap for the same 2 classes. One of the core times should be made available.
Also there seems to be a lack of staff on general duty on several occasions, not doing their role. This has definitely got worse.
The locker situation is still very bad which has been the case for over a year!
The cleaner uses the bins to prop open the mens changing room door which means the changing rooms are full of rubbish.
I have always tried to be very supportive of the gym but things are going downhill quite quickly and something needs to be done.

Enough equipment to use, the layout makes no sense to me though
Free weight area is never organised properly, all weights are scattered, either in wrong label or wrong end, so constantly looking for correct weights

Good utilities, good option of resistance machines and free weights. Massive section for cardio. 3 star rating is because of how many youngsters are in the gym and treat it like rubbish tip. Weights left everywhere. Paper towels hanging from machines. If the clients were more mature, I would give it a 5 star.

Great experience. Clean, friendly environment, well equipped.

It’s almost 30 degrees outside and the gym didn’t even have the air conditioning going
We walked in and straight back out again. Get the basics right for a start
