Gym fine - until you need help
Gym itself is fine, but getting help to deal with problems is awful. Buddy code hasn't worked since I set it up, spent 20 minutes trying to find someone who worked there. No-one on shift - on a Saturday! Health & safety? Wrote this complaint to the Pure Gym email address, 7 days later no reply. So, I guess they have so many members the strategy is to not worry about the ones that need help because as they leave, someone else will join.

The workout itself was great—equipment was clean and everything I needed was available. It’s a solid place if you just want to get in and train.
However, the staff experience was disappointing. No one greeted us, showed us around, or even interacted at all. I expected a bit more energy and engagement from the team, especially for new members. It felt more like a self-serve gym than a welcoming environment. A little effort from staff could really elevate the whole experience.

I’ve created my membership today , I’ve come to gym at midnight on 16th March 2025.
And it’s closed due to something.
This is a 24hr gym .

Only one pair of good handles has forced me to bring my own (appalling)

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment are fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym.

Good but room for improvement
App Experience:
The splash screen of the app takes a bit too long for the QR code to load. On a current iPhone 16, it should be faster and more responsive, especially when trying to quickly access the gym.
PureGym Preston - Layout Concerns:
At PureGym Preston, the free area with the green strip seems to pose a safety risk, especially when people are running up and down it. It encourages potential accidents, particularly when the area is in use. I suggest relocating this strip near the wall, where there is less foot traffic. However, I’d recommend removing the green strip altogether and replacing it with more machines. The space feels poorly utilized, especially since the redesign a few years ago. This area could be better maximized with equipment to improve the gym's layout offer more equipment.
Overall, it’s a good gym, but there are opportunities to make it even better.
