Too busy
I used to come here all the time during university, and really enjoyed it.
It seems to have changed recently, with a large amount of members joining which means I’m waiting for equipment. I’ve been a few times and haven’t bothered with my full workout. I’ve since left and joined an independent gym which I’m having more fun using.

All in all a well rounded gym
All in all a well rounded gym. Always equipment available. The staff are human and like a chat and actually hear what you have to say.
Highly recommend

My experience
I’ve been going semi regularly for the past three months, and the amount of things I see is unreal.
I’ll start by saying the good points;
They are a 24 hr gym, which suits my schedule well.
They have free weights that are monitored to an extent.
There is an overflow car park which is free (even for the locals to dump there car in).
Now for the bad;
There is no limit on memberships, causing the gym to be extremely busy. Having to wait for equipment is normal in any gym but it’s unreal the amount of people sat on the machines doing nothing for 10 minutes or taking selfies.
The men’s locker room is too dirty, there needs to be a cleaner coming in halfway between shifts. After the night clean it’s great but just before that there is rubbish everywhere, bottles left out, urine on the floor etc.
Also, during the evenings the smell of weed is sickly. I’m not talking about a little bit either, it hits you as you enter the locker room.
Lastly, I have had sixty pound taken out of my wallet which was in my pocket inside a locked locker! The padlock just left on the side, how they got in I have no idea, but be careful and use a key padlock and not a coded one.

Disappointed
Wednesday's was a day I used to look forward to in the gym but now the class change has had an effect on me as I'm not keen on the instructors who do the class that I can make.
I'm now not coming to the gym enough with the change in times for classes which I used to enjoy doing.

The classes have the music and audio…
The classes have the music and audio from PT way too loud. Especially on the 30/01/23. Multiple people I spoke to didn't appreciate how loud it is. I can't hear my own music nor concentrate on my workout.

Friendly gym, good prices and lots of equipment
Range of equipment is great, loving the new machines. Great atmosphere. Please can you remember though to fill up the hand sanitizers, the last few times I’ve been both have been empty.

Preston venue classes i enjoy
Preston venue classes i enjoy, such as spinning, body pump, pure ab, no longer offered at weekends, late afternoons. It is difficult for me to train weekdays and nights.

I had a homophobic experience and I…
I had a homophobic experience and I think the necessary means to stop hate/discrimination don’t go further than a tape recording. Other than that PTs and the machines are perfect, I have been having a great time since the incident. I think it is just a bit of lack of security.
It's a good gym with good gear
It's a good gym with good gear - it seems to have gone a bit quiet in recent weeks, in terms of membership attendance - gents showers need towel hooks and somewhere to put your shower gel other than the basin floor
One other thing that needs addressing (in the Preston gym) is the noise from the classes - a few times, when I've been in at lunchtime and a class starts, for some reason the female instructor uses a headset and mic system which is linked to speakers - the exercise area is largely open plan, with no sound insulation - so, what the rest of us gym users are then subjected to is 30-45 minutes of loud music, which drowns out the normal background music, and also the excessive decibels of the instructor shouting and screeching into the mic - it's very annoying and totally unnecessary as there is often only a handful of people taking part in the class - I've put a date in below but that might not be right - I'm just referring to the lunchtime classes that take place during the week
Also, on the background music - mix it up a bit - a lot of your gym members are 30 and above - play some music from the 70's 80's 90's and 00's
At busy times the instructors/staff could be a bit more proactive in encouraging people to either use the equipment or get off it - it’s a regular occurrence for a couple of people to be sat on a piece of equipment for 15 minutes just on their phones or chatting to someone
