Personal journey.
Last October, I made the decision to return to the gym with the goal of losing weight and getting back into shape. I had become overweight, and my diet was not in order. I had finally had enough and decided to speak to a personal trainer who offered one-on-one boxing sessions. I thought it sounded fun, even though I had never boxed before. Kamil helped me turn this sport into a reality/hobby, and I have managed to lose over 15 kg in the space of 3 months. I have also improved my diet and become more focused at work. I am truly looking forward to the next sessions and continuing my fitness journey.

Clean gym and enough machines free. Sometimes it can take a while when broken machines to be fixed which could be improved.

Over priced gym!!!
Saying my direct debit failed which has happened twice now and then try charge you £50 is a joke! pure gym pricing is also a joke how can I pay £18.99 for the Southampton branch which is better and bigger than Reading but at Reading I have to pay £32? For a smaller gym! Until they sort the pricing I’ll go to The Gym which is twice the size, doesn’t always have broken machines and doesn’t try pretend your direct debit Failed and charge you £20 to set up a FREE direct debit facility!

As stated in our terms and conditions, accepted upon membership commencement, we are able to charge up to £20 in admin fees, for a failed payment. We are notified by the bank when a payment has failed; we then notify the member via email. In the email, we state that for a very limited time, we do give the option to make a payment using a debit or credit card for:
• Instalment Amount
• Administration Fee £ 5.00
This can be done via the members area of our website https://www.puregym.com/members/ with your email address and PIN number. By using this facility, members will not incur the Resubmission fee of £15.00. Additionally, we do have a dedicated Member Services Team on hand to respond to members if they need any help.

Dirty
Dirty. Almost never any cleaning equipment. Staff don’t enforce use of towels. Benches full of sweat and hair gel. No handwash in toilets. Urine and excrement on toilets all the time.

Boxfit session
I've been going to PureGym in Basingstoke Road for a few years now. I really like the atmosphere there, and staff are very friendly and professional.
I'm not giving 5 stars though because I'm very disappointed that they have removed the Boxfit session on Mondays with Kamil. In my opinion it was the best class and it was always full. So please bring Boxfit back.

Great equipment
Great equipment, enjoy the spin classes…and these are easily booked on the app, the 24 hour opening is great (shame it’s shut Christmas Day), just avoid busy times which you can easily check on the app.

Shower drains always stink sometimes…
Shower drains always stink sometimes unbearable to have a shower coz of the smell, and showers are luke warm at best, women PTs are miserable as well

There is no access to the toilet after 12 AM. Don't go to the gym after midnight if you are diabetic.

The separate-sex communal changing room doors are locked between 11pm and 5am, however, your PIN can be used to access the changing room. There is also individual-use, gender-neutral, inclusive changing room in all gyms.

Ive just joined this gym and at least 2…
Ive just joined this gym and at least 2 of personal trainers that work there are extremely rude, on my first day I asked one of them for help and he told me to go and ask someone else and on a different day I asked a different member of staff for help and he told he couldn’t do anything to help me!!! No one seems to be able to help in there, as there is not many personal trainers around either. I’ve always used gyms to work out and never been in a gym like this

Great first visit today with PureGym
Great first visit today with PureGym, plenty of equipment to use and room to move around in, wasn’t too busy which was good, only slight draw back was trying to find brackets for the free weights as had to hunt around a bit, other than that I’m looking forward to continuing my road back to fitness there

Good Value but not to keen on the music…
Good Value but not to keen on the music video choices.
I have been a member for 2 year's and I haven't had a bad experience and all the staff seem nice and helpful. And this is good value hopefully long May it continue!
The music and video choice is more down to my age I suppose nothing beats a 70s/80s kid... for music in my opinion but I'm sure the Z generation wouldn't agree.
