Those people who cannot be bothered to return equipment and leave it for others to sort out should NOT be welcome. One warning and out.
If Puregym wish to set a diversity standard then they need also to protect us from these selfish peoples

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this.

James Luke is a amazing manager for puregym, caversham. His is caring and being a good listener is been very helpful in my settling in the gym. I love this gym!!!!
I love this gym!!!!! The hydro massage beds are heaven! The fact i can attend classes that motivate me and make me sweat is amazing! The gym equipment is all up to date and usually multiple of each, the gym is always tidy aswell as the changing rooms. I'm especially happy they have started up aerobics and combat classes! Only thing that would make this gym better is a boxing bag!

A good range of equipment and classes
I joined Pure Gym 3 weeks ago now, and in general I am very positive about it. I like the fact that you are not tied into a long membership contract, so if you are away, you can pause your membership.
It is easy to use and, though very busy at times, you can choose to go when it is quieter.
There are a good selection of machines and plenty of weights.
A couple of things I’ve noticed though, that are irritating:
The downstairs water fountain at my gym has been out of action for 2 weeks now, as has one of the most useful machines. They should have been fixed right away, and the fact that they haven’t is irritating and it makes the gym users feel unimportant.
Cleaners come mornings and evenings, but the gym soon gets untidy and messy, and it would be good to have someone on duty just to keep things straight.
All in all, I find it one of the easiest gyms to use and it is well worth the subscription.

The gym itself is fantastic but I…
The gym itself is fantastic but I wanted to do classes and I tried the Zumba and the step supposedly suitable for beginners and advanced but the Step was way too hard for a beginner. I couldn’t find any other classes specifically for beginners.

At 56 and a first time gym goer, I feel very comfortable, with no issues, the staff are helpful and friendly and always there to help or give advice. The gym is clean and very well laid out.... I have recommended to others that are anxious or in two minds about joining a gym

Pure gym is very unfair they terminated…
Pure gym is very unfair they terminated my membership because I asked an other member not to remove my clothes of a machine as its coronavirus and the virus will be transmitted easily so he got upset and they ended my membership

I'm giving a 1 star because three years later I get a parking fine after I was a member and using PureGym in Reading.. I'm now checking with Citizen Advice on the right actions to take.. I do understand they are having hard time.. But treating previous customers with no respect... Disgraceful...

We are sorry to hear that you received a parking fine whilst using the gym. The car park is operated by a third party company in which we do not have any affiliation with. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to cancel such tickets. Information regarding parking is available on the home page of any PureGym which offers parking. The correct parking procedures must be followed, to avoid a parking ticket. We would always advise that you appeal the fine and explain the circumstances. If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym. If your appeal is rejected, we would suggest submitting a case with POPLA. POPLA are an independent appeals process which works with the Ombudsman Service. They investigate whether this fine was issued correctly in accordance with the terms and condition of the car park; whilst reviewing evidence provided in the appeal. On the rejection notice, there should be a 10-digit verification code, and you will then be able to submit an appeal with POPLA via their website: http://www.popla.co.uk/poplaappealprocess. Although we cannot guarantee they will cancel the fine, we do hope for a positive outcome.

Equipment clean
Equipment clean, staff helpful. As a middle aged woman who hasn’t been a member of a gym for quite some time - I find the atmosphere comfortable and not intimidating.

Good gym
Got everything I need, equipment is well maintained. I train early mornings and haven't experienced any issues with too many people etc.
