Gym closed.
The gym has been closed on a number of occasions recently - not a 24/7 gym as advertised. I was asked to leave during my workout as the gym was “unsafe” due to CCTV going down - even though a member of staff was present! Not compensated for not adhering to your contract!

As per our terms and conditions - There may be occasions where we have to close all, or part of, the gym of which you are a member. We will do our best to let you know of such closures in advance of them taking place, unless the problem is urgent or an emergency. We will use all commercially reasonable endeavours to ensure that such closures are outside of peak visiting hours and are kept to a minimum, in both duration and frequency. You will not be entitled to a refund

Well equipped and Very Clean
The Gym is well-equipped and very clean. There is a good cross-section of members and the Gym manager is pleasant and helpful.
I marked 4 not 5 because I always seem to have problems with the QR entry and exit code and I don't like the unisex changing & preparation area with no seating facilities.

I mainly go for the classes which I really enjoy. Staff are fantastic. Excellent equipment.
Only negative I've noticed is that the toilets don't seem to be cleaned regularly.

I have nothing bad to say about staff…BUT
I have nothing bad to say about staff etc they all seem lovely.
What I don’t rate is the layout of the gym kind of expected more from PureGym compared to the ones I’ve seen in the past. There needs to be more cable attachments such as straight curling bars and ropes there aren’t enough. The space could have been used better I understand you do classes but there are essentially 2 large rooms not really being optimised for more machines or weight based areas.
Just my opinion but I know for a fact other people will agree with what I’m trying to say. Might be worth considering a layout change in the future but for now it’s okay.

Had a few issues with the internet…
Had a few issues with the internet which caused it to close during out of manned hours times about 5/6 times. For people who mainly train in them hours it’s been very frustrating. Also the heaviest dumbbells are 40kg, it would be good if there was heavier ones. All the equipment is new and nice to use and when it’s not closed in the unmanned hours it’s a great gym.

Fix your vending machines
Tried to buy Key fob from the vending machine, said card transaction declined yet still charged £6 and no key fob!

Gym is always being closed
Gym is always being closed. Full of kids as well at any point and is way to small for a pure gym and the amount of people that use it

In the space of two months
In the space of two months, has already had to remain closed 5 times, there’s a lack of kit that I’d expect from a PureGym, machine bicep curl, tricep extension, side lateral, and incline press.
I also there’s think there’s too much space given over to class and functional areas.

I like that it is quiet on weekend…
I like that it is quiet on weekend nights. The gym intro was not the best but the equipment seems nice and I usually get to go on whatever I like. I wish classes ran later in the evening

Uttoxeter PureGym
I’m loving the new Uttoxeter gym, the classes are great and it is well equipped. The only negative is that the water dispenser does not offer chilled water and often it is warm, or at best, tepid. Otherwise a great facility for the town.

So far.. not great
No wifi, member of staff was pretty rude when I asked to be let out as I couldn’t access the app due to zero service. The water fountain is awful and not good enough for such a huge chain. Do better!!

New Gym with good access, but why has it been closed through night three times this month
A clean Gym (well its new so should be), and easy way to train with QR Code access, but seems to be having teething problems with opening through night. I am a very early morning Trainer and therefore like to arrive at 04:30 and earlier. Their has been three occasions this month (including this morning), where the Gym is closed and not opening till 06:00. Emails are sent, although one email on the 25.1.23 was sent at 02:45 and I missed it as on road and was already at closed site. I have though found that users are respectable and friendly.
