Everything about the gym is great, clean loads of available equipment, the flavoured water for £4 a month is worthwhile if you use it. I have about 3-4 a session 5 days a week, works out about 20p a day.
BIGGEST LET DOWN: Parking for 90 mins is not long enough, when you factor in warm up, cool down, stretching, shower, I'm always getting copped for a quid for being 10 Mins over which is effectively doubling my membership . 2hrs is reasonable

Parking is a big issue
The parking as part of the membership is disappointing and frustrating when members are faced with fines and penalty charges due to the omissions of both Puregym and Nexus Parking by failing to keep the permit parking machines working in order for members to benefit from free parking. In fact members feel very angry where they find themselves paying a lot more unnecessary due to no fault of their own. The issue has not been addressed and remains a big problem. Nexus and Puregym need to resolve this if they wish to continue their members attending and not going elsewhere due to the frustrations experienced. Attending gym should be a pleasant experience and not where members leave the gym very concerned and angry.

Hi Harminder - Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. We are sorry to hear that you received a parking fine whilst using the gym. The car park is operated by a third party company in which we do not have any affiliation with. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to cancel such tickets. Information regarding parking is available on the home page of any PureGym which offers parking.
The correct parking procedures must be followed, to avoid a parking ticket. We would always advise that you appeal the fine and explain the circumstances. If you get in touch with Member Services, we can also provide you with an appeal document which will be an official letter from PureGym Head Office, stating that you are a member of PureGym and your attendance log for the date in question, will also be provided as proof to show you were in the gym.
If your appeal is rejected, we would suggest submitting a case with POPLA. POPLA are an independent appeals process which works with the Ombudsman Service. They investigate whether this fine was issued correctly in accordance with the terms and condition of the car park; whilst reviewing evidence provided in the appeal. On the rejection notice, there should be a 10-digit verification code, and you will then be able to submit an appeal with POPLA via their website: http://www.popla.co.uk/poplaappealprocess. Although we cannot guarantee they will cancel the fine, we do hope for a positive outcome. Thanks, PureGym.
Joining from Friend membership
Initially, I was on a friend membership after I had used my 4 visits I wanted to join and get my own membership but had a lot of difficulty as there were no options to change over smoothly. Once my friend remover me as a friend I was able to joint the gym with no issues. Would have been helpful to have been told that i needed to be removed as a friend before I could get my own membership. Apart from that the process was great.

Hand dryer issue
The men's hand dryer in the toilet has been broken for months & not replaced. I have told the members of staff who have put in a request for a new one but nothing has been dome. Why is this??

Good work out area
Very good location, variety of equipment to for working out, studio is spacious.
Very cold gym environment. Toilet & showers are very dirty need improvement.

Gym is really clean and tidy
Gym is really clean and tidy, plenty of classes to choose from and the manager gave us a lovely tour he was very helpful.

The gym is quite good, but there is no cleaning equipment, and I didn't see anyone cleaning the equipment.

PureGym prides itself on being able to offer state of the art fitness facilities to our members in a safe and welcoming environment. We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment.

No WiFi, Faulty Equipment & Increase in membership prices
I have to admit the standards have dropped since PureGym Walsall decided to move to Crown Wharf.
Firstly how can a gym of this size not have wifi still available?
Surely it is health and safety for all equipment to be working, however I have noticed that there is a faulty cross trainer that is half broken and I nearly slipped off it.
Also there are treadmills with faulty buttons which don’t increase or reduce speed, surely this is dangerous???
I think PureGym has scarified its customer service and experience and instead has decided to increase membership prices without providing the customer the basic equipment and facilities to exercise.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.
