I’ve been with RBC for over 15 years…
I’ve been with RBC for over 15 years never had a problem until they merge with HSBC. Got my visa number no card they merged my husbands account to my account becouse our signature are on both account. My husbands never received his number or Visa card. Lost three cards up till now.easter Monday I took my husband of my account so I could have my account. Told I could use my original card unknown to me after not being able to get petrol found out they cancelled that card. Still two weeks still waiting for card. So phoned today the guy on the end told me my husbands card works on my checking account. So I explained it did not. So he suggested we change accounts again . Well at that point for the second time in two weeks I lost it. So iam sorry RBC until you get staff on phone that know what they are doing i will be in branch tomorrow at 930 on the dot closing my accounts with you this whole merger has been disgraceful. Ps customer service is bad.
Terrible experience with this bank
Terrible experience with this bank. Definitely not the best for newcomers.
No real people only robots that glitch
Called 200 times throughout the day at not once would it accept my card number (which is correct) and switch me over to a real person on the phone. If it wasn’t for the weekend I’d be switched already. I have two bank accounts and Scotia bank is the better one. RBC is a waste of time and are scammers
Terrible bank
Terrible bank, pray for the worst for your buisness and everyone who works for it.
I could say that this is the worst bank…
I could say that this is the worst bank ever. Their rbc banking is not a user friendly!!! Its the worst ever.
Would rate 0 if I could
Would rate 0 if I could. I signed up for the chequing account promotion with the Apple Watch. I live over an hour away in a small town and have a comfortable account that I’ve had no problems with, not even once. I decided to give RBC a chance as my husband and I wanted to create an account together. Well, I completed the required things to be able to get the watch on 17of Feb I believe. First they “had the wrong email.” Then I was promised an order form email in three days guaranteed. I waited five, still nothing. I called back, there was no evidence of the claim. I filed a complaint, there’s been no follow up and it’s now April. I have spoke to five different customer service representatives and nobody will do anything but tell me to wait. This feels like a scam. RBC is trying to rip people off, I wonder how many other people they have not held their end of the deal up towards? RBC lies and takes your money. They do nothing to solve any problems and nobody seems to know how to give an answer besides “wait”. The only time I felt I was taken seriously was when the man answered (I am a woman). Ever other representative I e spoke to was a woman and they seemed to either not give a dang or get defensive and sassy when I’m asking what’s going on. I do not deserve to be scammed, played, lied to by anyone, let alone my bank. I will soon be removing any account with RBC if this problem is not resolved by the end of the week. RBC is a joke.
Never deal with RBC.
I'm giving one star because, there is no zero rating. I had 2 credit cards with RBC - A Mastercard and Visa (which was closed a year and half ago). I do my banking with TD. While paying my bills, instead of paying to my Mastercard, I paid towards the Visa card that was closed long back. After I realized this, I spoke with 20+ RBC customer support staff, collections department,++++++. Its more than a month and half and rbc blames it on TD that they have to do the reversal. However TD says, if the Visa account was closed then the payment shouldn't have been accepted by RBC and RBC should move the money from VISA to Mastercard.
Atleast TD has been consistent with their messaging, but team RBC is filled with liars. Many reps with whom I spoke would tell me that they have initiated a refund and should take 5 business days for me to see the money. When it didn't happen, the next rep will have no idea to what my problem was. Obviously many peope lied here. I also visited the main branch and they couldn't help me either.
I also raised a complaint online with RBC on Feb 28th, 2024. Other than an auto reply, there has been no call or email from RBC.
If the credit bureau penalize the card holders for not paying the dues on time, why there is no penalties for the corporate banks who steal money from public? Since I see the rating of RBC is so poor, I believe many Canadians face the same type of issues as me. Hope RBC starts caring about their customers atleast in future.
Your employees are cutting off the…
Your employees are cutting off the lines.
Check a phone call with Jason on 30/03/2024 at 10.59 a.m and check how he was talking to me and cut off the line while I was talking with the first phone call after migration from HSBC to RBC.
Worst experience ever
Will work on taking all my accounts and business from RBC .
We understood that the merge process might take time but at least employees should answer the phone calls politely especially they know that the problem is from their side
RBC must be the worst bank I have dealt…
RBC must be the worst bank I have dealt with in my life.
I was on the phone with one rep after another who seems clueless as to what setting up automatic payment for a credit card issued by RBC means. I want to set the payments from another bank where I have an account, and these guys ( I have talked to 5 reps so far) are so confused about my request.
it's as if RBC grabbed some people off the street and is training them in real time. they kept putting me on hold to go do god knows what. Spent 2 hours on the phone till I got the damn thing set up. Still I am not sure there won't be a hiccup give the level of confusion and ignorance on the RBC side.
Never meant to deal with this bank
Never meant to deal with this bank. I was an HSBC customer and was pulled in during the merger. The transition service is terrible, new credit cards not sent in time, causing a risk of missing payment deadline. Nobody out of the 4 people they had me bouncing around on the phone was able to propose a solution. The new services supposed to replace and equal HSBC banking services are nowhere near advantageous as the premier chequing account of HSBC.
Zero customer service
Customer for almost 20 years, customer service has almost disappeared completely. Need to speak to a person to ask specific questions about my business account but options are to be on hold forever or schedule a call for hours from now!! I need answers now!! This company makes billions a year but can’t afford to hire a few people to answer phones?!?!?! Profit over people.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!! my dad and I are from Canada and came to the USA for golf. We have a RCB travel credit card that does not work when we travel! This is a traveling credit card and they cancelled it when we travel and send us on loops for 5 hours trying to get a hold of someone to fix it. We have been in the USA for 3 days now and can't buy anything because of this card. If we didn't have another credit card from (NOT RBC!!!!) We would be stuck here with no money. We have been calling for 3 days a total of 15 hours on hold for absolutely no change. I would suggest NEVER IN 100 LIVES go with RBC, their customer service would be better if I was talking to a wall. Do not in any case go with RBC!!!
RBC is the best bank in Canada
Terrible service
Terrible service, repeatedly. The bank employees seem poorly trained and unable to resolve issues.
Very slow in processing files
I applied for pre mortgage approval of house on Sept 26th .
Their mortgage advisor didn't answer till Sept 06 until I asked him atleast 10 times for yes no response.
Having enough money for down-payment in my account ; whose mortgage was gonna b after a year. I have been client with rbc since8 and half years with excellent credit historyRbc could nt provide me nt even waiver option for mortgage of new house.
It's my biggest mistake to b with rbc
People who wanna grow in their life never go with rbc
Absolute garbage customer service
Absolute garbage customer service. My credit card got compromised and I needed a new one. I was advised by the RBC advisor that I should get it shipped to the branch instead of my address since I would not be there and this would be faster. I had TWO people confirm the branch address. I never received a call from the branch to say it came in so I tried to call them. I waited on hold with what turned out to be head office (branch number not actually listed). They gave me a number for the branch which is not ever answered and had a full voicemail. I called back and waited on hold again to be told there was no other way to contact the branch. I finally drove to the bank and had to wait forever. The customers at the tellers were mostly also experiencing frustrations with RBC. I finally just walked up to someone who did help and she discovered that despite TWO people confirming the branch address, RBC still sent the card to the house I am not at in a different city... Impressive how much time of mine they have wasted. I now have to drive to a different city to get my card to top it off.
Been a customer for 18 years
Been a customer for 18 years. I had a credit line opend when I was 19 with them (for 30g) and in interest charges alone I paid over 32g and now they are unwilling to do a consumer proposal. Never once were willing to help me with intrest or payments. The worst answering service on the phones you can imagine. A all round horrible bank.
Worst bank ever
Worst bank ever. Long hold wait time, bad in customer service, transfer many times, asking repeatedly for my personal information.
Was told if I paid the visas on the day…
Was told if I paid the visas on the day they were due I wouldn’t not recieve any interest charges. Come to find out I did in fact get charged interest when I paid the day they were due. Called to speak with a rep and was on hold for 1 hour and 5 mins. Finally had to hang up so I can get on with my day. Absolutely unacceptable to do that to a paying customer of 15 years with 3 company visas
