I had put my points towards a 40 dollar gift card for Walmart and I received no email or text

Receipt Hog is terrible. They got the wrong name and whenever I have it correct and it say it duplicate. Receipt date was on 3/28/2026 that it had the wrong name in it and it should be Sno Cafe for $19.65. Also, there's no customer service to contact to have this correct except through the app itself.

Not pressednwith Receipt Hog! So tired of submitting receipts to only end up being rejected when another receipt app is use [accepts them. Now I'm getting e-receipts rejected because they're illegible and a receipt rejected for store threshold.

Cheating me out of receipts. Bad customer service. Awful.

Horrible App and Horrible Support. You have to be a Software Engineer in order to link an app or an email account. The rewards are horrific...

This app absolutely sucks. I have scanned well over 3 thousand receipts and I never get any points to be able to cashout. The app is 100% a scam and a mkney farm for the creators of the app since they never wanna be giving cashouts.

I tried to get my $25.00 credit from Chewy. They refused to honor it. No way to contact anyone about this matter. Always having trouble with camera quality when trying to take clear photos on here not anywhere else. This whole scam is a waste of time.

If you shop at a mom and pop establishment and they write paper receipts as oart if their charm Reciept Hog refuses to acknowledge the receipts. If you are that closed minded and big business driven SHAME ON YOU!!!

Worst support who’ll ban your account once u try to redeem

I am, and have been experiencing some difficulties with the application.

Firstly, I have been unable to link my Amazon account. Despite following the provided steps multiple times, the process either displays a "Hang tight! We're Connecting your account..." message for an extended period (over 30 minutes) or ultimately fails.

Secondly, I've encountered consistent issues with receipt uploads. The system frequently reports that receipts are blurry or that the transaction date is missing, even when all the necessary information is clearly visible.

Finally, I've had trouble accessing customer support. I have requested login links and codes multiple times to access my account, but these have not arrived in either my inbox or spam folder.

In contrast, I've found the Fetch application to be more reliable. Receipts are easily readable and upload without issue, and their customer and technical support teams are readily accessible and communicative.

Scammers , they will sell your personal info and give you nothing at all

Frequently, the ap will accept the picture of the receipt saying it has all the necessary info and at a later time will dispute it being valid and not count it.

So far so good except I want to know has anyone lost $30 when using PayPal to get paid. Somehow I chose PayPal to get $5 and when I looked at my Debit card it said a Gift card company took out the money in the amount of $30. At around the same time I requested payment for Receipt Hog. Having a hard time getting the $30 back

Not responsive to rewards questions.
Not getting emails to get redemptions to rewards such as Amazon. Lots of rejected receipts ie; "unreadable" Too much "No date" retakes blah blah etc.
If they want to stay in business they must improve. Waste of time and honest efforts to earn a couple of bucks and that takes away the enjoyment of a little passtime. Please get your act together!

Fraudulent App, Do not do business with them. I am surprised they have a 4.6 stars. Their app wasn't working for an extended period of time therefore I was logged out and couldn't log in. In that time frame my points expired which is completely crazy because I worked for years to get my points. Now they have my data and nothing to show for it.

Will be deleting and don't recommend anyone download this app. If for any reason their app malfunctions you will lose your points.

I have been with receipt hog for a really long time and I've made around 20 dollars a year which is fine really. It had a lot of issues, claiming duplicate receipts, rejecting some very valid ones and increasing the payout requirements several times over the years but I never complained about that.

This year i managed to refer a lot of people from my uni to sign up with my referrals and I managed to reach the $40 payout twice. On the 2nd time the redemption never came and my account was disabled.

I contacted support and they straight up mentioned that I violated the terms and conditions by submitting fraudulent referrals. Keep in mind that I made sure that almost every single referral of mine was real on the spot to avoid this same exact scenario. I later realized that the highest payout is an illusion to bait and switch after selling your data.

About a week later, I left a 1 star review on the app store to explain my situation and they replied to me and kept sticking to their story saying i was providing fraudulent referrals and ever since every single person I referred had their users disabled despite most not using the app since my referral.

It's just a bait and switch method like the others have mentioned. Your data is valuable and avoid selling it to these cheap money grubbers.

They just use automated replies to avoid confrontation like the one that will show up under this review ''As explained to you over email, your account goes against our Terms and Conditions. Thanks for understanding.'' I requested proof of my referrals being fraudulent and they just replied with an automated message about my account going against the terms and conditions ''Receipt Hog reward funds are generated by our ability to report on household spending habits. Without reliable data, we would not be able to reward users for their receipts. By protecting our data, we are also protecting our ability to reward. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to revoke all earned funds when suspicious behavior is witnessed.'' No proof of suspicious behavior and no explanation over a 4 email discussion.

Terrible app.It either rejects legitimate and current receipts or gives you the points and a day or two later takes the points back with some bs message saying “receipt blurry” or “old receipt “ and the receipts they reject always seem to be the more expensive ones where you get 15 or 20 coins.Checked the app today and found out a $148 receipt they gave me 20 points for days ago was now rejected and my points taken away as well as another expensive receipt that was approved then rejected and points taken away.While I did like the app for awhile it has become too annoying and has too many issues so I will be deleting it and looking for a better app.

I have been using the app since July, diligently scanning receipts. At first, everything seemed fine: a small initial test payout (5 EUR) worked seamlessly. This built trust, so I spent months saving up to reach the 40 EUR tier.

However, the moment I requested the 40 EUR payout, my account was disabled without warning. It feels like a classic "bait and switch" tactic: small amounts are paid out to hook users, but as soon as you try to cash out a significant amount, your account gets locked.

They were happy to accept my shopping data for months, but when it came time to pay up, I was kicked out. Support only responds with canned messages and shows zero interest in resolving the issue.

Conclusion: You invest months of work, provide valuable data, and end up with nothing.

Don't use this app. The past two times I have requested my money Receipt Hog has rejected the claim citing some problem with the receipts I have entered over months. In my opinion that is very unfair. I deleted app

I have now been using Receipt Hog for about eight years and getting rid of this BS app receipt Hog!!!! Fetch is muck better easy to take pictures of your receipt. I will be staying with fetch much,much,much better when taking pictures of your receipt so easy and then they have other incentives, Love Fitch they ROCK❣️
