Great little company highly recommend as purchased a kala ukulele which had fault and contacted them and replaced immediately and do helpful with advice

I bought a lovely Celtic Knot mountain dulcimer because Steve listened to what I thought I wanted and suggested what he believed would be an appropriate instrument.
The dulcimer arrived in tune, ready to play, just as Steve said it would; it had a lovely ringing sound to it.
Sadly, the dulcimer isn't the instrument that my old arthritic hand can cope with so I returned it, but I couldn't have been better served by Red Cow Music

Steve did a brilliant job of repairing my family heirloom accordion to my satisfaction . Communication between us was clear and effective and the price was competitive. I would thoroughly recommend Steve as he is clearly an expert in his field and provided a top class and friendly service .

Bought a s/h 30 key Stagi Concertina. Nice instrument and RCM were a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered a concertina from Steve at Red Cow Music (love the name) he was very friendly, helpful and honest. He explained that I had missed the post that day but it would be tested and posted the next day and it should arrive by Friday or Monday 9 Sept. As promised it was posted the next day but instead of Friday or Monday it was received on Thursday, excellent service. Had a small issue after receiving the concertina but telephoned Steve who quickly resolved it to my satisfaction. First Class Small Family Company, pleased to recommend them to any prospective buyer.

I do not give one stars lightly but, when a company provides the worst customer service I have ever received, I need to register my dissatisfaction.
I bought four self-adhesive felt chord bar strips for my autoharp, all four were clearly defective as received, and must have been in that condition when packed and despatched.
The protective strip covering the adhesive was very wrinkled and when I tried to remove it the adhesive layer came away with it.
I took very clear photographs showing the issues, but when I emailed these to Red Cow they refused to accept my complaint without inspecting the felts themselves.
I emailed back saying I would happily return the defective felts, if they would refund the return postage - this was ignored.
I still have these useless felts - they are not high value items and I am not prepared to lose more money sending them back, especially when the photographic evidence is so clear, and as any further stock they had must have the same issue.

That reply proves my point - it is the same response I have had all along - despite my provision of photo's giving graphic evidence that these items were defective!

Excellent service, really knowledgeable and helpful.
We made an appointment to purchase a concertina, not really knowing what we needed for a beginner. Steve was incredibly helpful, and was able to answer all our questions. It wasn't intimidating even though we had no idea these instruments. He spent a lot of time with us talking through the options and we bought an entry level English Concertina. We are really pleased with it, and we will no doubt be going back for more as we are all fighting over who get to play it!

I recently purchased a rosewood hammered dulcimer 10/9 from Red Cow Music for my husband. It arrived very quickly and had been tuned by Steve, who also packaged it really well. It's a beautiful instrument, very reasonably priced and my husband is thrilled with it.

I have been looking for an 8 string ukulele for some time. Decided to visit Red Cow music. Started with a phone call to discuss what I was looking for.... an 8 string tenor. Made an appointment to visit the next day. On arrival Steve had three instruments ready for me to try. Really good to play each one and come to a decision without being rushed or pressured. I am delighted with my new Kala KA-8. Beautiful rich sound. After only two days at home it is already staying more or less in tune, I'm confident it will be holding tune perfectly by the end of the week. Altogether a great purchasing experience and well worth the 350 miles round trip to buy from a specialised ukulele retailer. I recommend.

Superb range of instruments and equipment. Red Cow couldn't have been more helpful in getting my purchase delivered on short notice (also the best-packaged musical instrument I've ever had delivered!)

I realise that dulcimer buyers are a vanishingly small minority, but I can certainly recommend Red Cow. I told Steve what I wanted, as a complete beginner, and he selected an absolute jewel for me. I play it a lot at pub sessions, and it’s very well received. A great company to deal with.

I bought a Appalachian Dulcimer from them and it arrived at my door in two days (even after ordering on a Sunday). The dulcimer is in great condition, as are the strings and capo I also purchased. Will definately recommend to others.
