Longleat unbearable noise from Lorrie's beeping all day long
We paid a premium to have a lodge within easy access. What they neglect to mention is the lodge is near a construction company so beeping Lorrie's and chainsaws going all day. Not the peaceful escape in the country. I phoned up to lodge a complaint which did not go well and was very unhelpful. Be warned you may well end up listening to the sounds of a lorry park. Room
201. Avoid.
Surrounded by constant demolition/construction work all week
Spent the week surrounded by construction work due to nearby lodges being refurbished. We called guest services every day at 0750 when they started, and was told nothing could be done, and that they shouldn't have been allowed to start work that early.
We were given a voucher and 3 hours of spa access to get us away from the noise for a little while, but told there was nothing else that can be done on site.
After 4 more days of daily complaints and visits to the guest services, we were given an email address of the head of guest services who we were told would be able to compensate us further, but we had to wait until after our stay to e-mail them.
The response from the complaint took several weeks to come back, and we have been told there's nothing that can be done as it's in the terms and conditions that it's possible that you could end up in the middle of a construction site for your holiday. They have offered us an apology in an email and £100 off if we book again.
Useless customer service.
Horrendous (non) booking experience.
Trying to book with a Gift Card and just a truly awful experience. Happy to accept the cash up front for the gift cards, make it completely impossible to then redeem the gift card.
Cant use it booking online, Cant email booking details, Nobody answers Contact Center phone number. 400 quid down on a gift card I cant use.
This is our 5th trip and last
This is our 5th trip and probably our last, love coming here but tbh I'd rather just stay at home over all this, over £500 plus pet sitter, hundreds on food and drink here
On arrival couldn't find any disabled parking, couldnt find any signs at all, so that was great.
Windows and doors in the lodge are awful, nothing works properly anymore, room with disabled bed radiator doesn't get hot and no obvious way to adjust.
Break was really ruined by my son being ill not CPs fault, but as he's laying in bed all we can hear is HORRENDOUSLY loud music for over an hour. Turns out they're testing the lights in the forest thing that doesn't open until AFTER we leave. So now a crying teen, being kept awake with loud Disney music being blasted round the forest. I went over to check so i know it's staff making the racket. Guest services just said we'll tell security when it's STAFF MAKING THE NOISE.
Pretty close to packing up and leaving early, we're in a disabled adapted lodge with doors and windows shut and it's all we can hear.
The toilet in the disabled bathroom was presumably fixed to the floor by sealant alone as it's broken now with the toilet moving as you sit on it, bad enough for a "normal" toilet but a disabled one? If not for handles I mightve fallen off.
We didn't come to the middle of a forest for a gig. We didn't come so an autistic teen can't escape the noise is an adapted lodge in the middle of Thetford Forest.
The temperature in the dome is nowhere near what it used to be, air temp feels acceptable, back in the day it was HOT, water temp in main pool feels luke warm at best. I'm sure someone will reply that temps are the same but there's just no way. It was the same at a local pool supposed to be 30c but they kept turning it down to save money I suspect before it closed down.
Only one out of 4 hot tubs work. They're all hotter than the pool but only one has working jets and no CP don't reply telling me they go on/off I know that the other 3 don't work we've sat in them for ages they never come on.
Oh both Rajinda Pradesh and Hucks ran out of certain gluten free options too, the shop doesn't sell much suitable so we had to rely on our food brought from home too.
Also if you're Vegan and Gluten free, stay home as they can't cater to both. Try getting gluten free vegan chips, the easiest thing to do and nope
Also if you have allergies they do have a good portal showing what you can eat BUT all you want is a gluten free menu instead staff tell you they're not allowed to help and in a big family group I'm there looking at my phone trying to figure out what my son can eat, instead of a menu I have to scan a QR code, log onto their WiFi and wait for the page to load to see what I can order. This whilst everyone is staring at me whilst I'm trying to figure it out.
Also £5 chips plus £5 for what most would call a small drink just too much.
Staff wouldn't even advise on a vegan matter either. Really poor attitude I'm there to connect with family and wildlife IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST I don't want my nose stuck in my phone.
I've spent the past weeks worrying whether I have cancer, booked this as either celebration or take my mind off it. Luckily got told its benign week before as really disappointed vs when we started coming 15 years or do ago
Some things have changed like refurb villas and the changing rooms are so much better and new activities (extra charge obv) but so many other things disappoint. Every time you walk past the loos in the pool near the showers it stinks.
Oh and there's ZERO privacy in the pool now as seems it's fair game to have a camera out everywhere in there, in the main pool, down slides even the big one, down the rapids and even in the hot tubs. All made worse because Center Parcs sell waterproof device cases so now adults are filming, kids are filming. There's a time and a place for discreet photography but this isn't discreet and CP actively promote it too!
Outstanding spa day – relaxing, spotless, and beautifully designed
I had an excellent day at Aqua Sana at Longleat Forest, and it genuinely felt like a proper reset from the moment I arrived. The spa is thoughtfully laid out, immaculately clean, and calm throughout, with staff who are friendly and professional without being overbearing.
The best part is the sheer choice of experiences—there are 24 nature-inspired rooms, and each one feels different and purposeful rather than “samey”. My favourites were the Forest Cavern (such a calming atmosphere), the Moonlight Steam Room, and the Lava Sauna—perfect when you want that deep, warming relaxation. I also loved mixing in some contrasts like the Ice Cave and then heading back to a hotter room afterwards.
There are plenty of quiet areas to properly switch off, and I really enjoyed taking breaks in the more tranquil spaces (especially the Forest View-style relaxation areas). Finishing off with time in the outdoor spa pool was the cherry on top.
Food and drink were great too—Vitalé Café Bar was a lovely mid-spa pause and didn’t feel like an afterthought. Overall, a genuinely top-tier spa day that felt well run, peaceful, and worth every penny.

This company has charged me twice for a transaction without my authorisation, i’ve raised a complaint to the head office team and the “executives” do not have the brain capacity to work out that I have been charged twice. It’s like pulling teeth talking to them. I’ve spent probably ten hours now trying to get my money refunded. The exec team talk to you as if they are above you. Zero empathy shown.
In addition to this, sherwood forrest is rubbish, over priced. The restaurants are awful, I saw rubbish on the floor and not enough towels are provided for a lodge.
There are loads of construction works happening which is a complete eyesore
the worst thing about it however is the customer service in a time of need
Unfortunately we encountered a problem…
Unfortunately we encountered a problem while away at Elvedon center parcs but Charlie on the customer service desk was amazing, very friendly and professional and got things resolved for us. We don't do many activities as we like the pool which is always fun, slightly cooler we thought compared to previous stays but then the outside temperature probably doesn't help.
Harder to book than Mitchelin star!
If you’re trying to make a large group restaurant reservation, forget it! You’re better off trying to book a mitchelin star restaurant a week before you want to go!
Group reservations are about as much use as a chocolate teapot. We’ve been trying (and failing) to book a large group in at the (apparently world-renowned) Amalfi and Hucks at Woburn Forest for almost 2 months now. Multiple emails, forms filled, calls made and even social media mails sent. Still no booking.
Last year we went through the same rigmarole, this time we booked and paid deposits, only to find one of the bookings still wasn’t made. The amazing on-site team still got us seated anyway but there is some serious miscommunication or understaffing in the group bookings team. Center Parcs isn’t exactly cheap - it should be a pleasant experience, not a hair-ripping, angry voiced one!
Sort it out Center Parcs - and give your holiday makers the experience they are paying for.
Center Parcs Could be so much better
We love Center Parcs mainly for the experience of being in the Forest, smelling the fresh woodland scents and being around nature. Its a nice place to be to relax and get away from the hussle and bussle of daily life.
However, What really let's Center Parcs down is the cost, the cleanliness of the lodges and the strict arrival and departure time in to your Lodge.
Me and my wife paid just short of £650 for 5 days. Out of those 5 days we enjoy only 3 full days without stress. Here's why...
Upon arrival on the Monday, your Lodge isn't available to you until 14:30. At 14:30 everyone with their car's are queuing from the carpark to get to their Lodge which is quite stressfull. By the time you've managed to get to your Lodge and unpack the car, return the car to the carpark and walk back to your Lodge its almost 4pm. 8 Hours of the first day of your break lost!
"You are allowed to arrive in the morning and enjoy the park up until 14:30 when your villa is available to you which is fine.. but when you buy frozen food stuff from your local supermarket before you left because the supermarket in Center Parcs is expensive, you dont want it sitting in the car for hours thawing out. So this doesn't work for everyone"
On our last visit to Center Parcs and on entering our Lodge, it smelled awful and wasn't particularly clean. It smelled like dirty unkempt people. We had to go buy air freshener sprays and disinfectant to clean and freshen the place up!
Our stay for the rest of the week was and usually is good. We hire bikes and cycle everywhere we go. The restaurants and shops are a little over priced "as already mentioned" so we generally food shop and cook in the Lodge as im sure most probably do.
On Friday when its time to leave, the stress begins again. You have to be out of the Lodge for a strict 10am. So no lazy morning on the last day of your Holiday! On our last visit the "So called Cleaner" arrived at 09:50 to clean, 10 minutes earlier than scheduled!
So you have to either pack on the last night of your stay or wake early on the Friday and pack, then go fetch your car from the carpark. Oh and if you hired a bicycle, that also has to be returned by a strict 10am, so no last day fun on the bike for the remainder of your Holiday.. Center Parcs has had your money and your done.. at least thats how we feel about the whole thing. Hence why we no longer go.
Once you packed up the car and returned it to the carpark, you literally have the rest of the day to find something to do which usually consists of spending more money on expensive activities or restaurants or just simply go home on what is supposed to be a fun last day.
Why you cant arrive late Sunday afternoon and leave early Saturday morning so you get a full week to relax i just dont know. Its a beautiful place and we love it but the whole experience is spoiled because of the above mentioned issues. We will never go back just like many we've spoken to who have experienced the same issues. Center Parcs could be so much better. So all in all, out of the 5 days you've paid to stay at Center Parcs, you get 4 nights and 3 full days. Rip off!
Im sure everyone's experience is different but the general consensus is the same as ours.
Went to longeat back along
Went to longleat back along . .
Arrive to find cashless ...FURIOUS.
The reason for 1 star
CASHLESS
EXPENSIVE ACTIVITES ontop of EXPENSIVE stay, can now do same at other large campsites/centres cheaper.
NOW PUTTING ON A AUTOMATIC % service charge on your food bill ,you have to ask to remove to make you uncomfortable.. .disgusting.
Centres parcs pay your staff properly your charging to stay a small fortune for people who still go ..
Did I mention CASHLESS . this alone never go again
The one star that saves it ..The free pool and deer ... but there are places that have deers and pools cheaper .
Longleat Centerparcs
Arrive at Longleat Centerparcs on the 11th August 2025 the lodge we stayed in was sort of clean till you looked more closely in the bathroom the mirror was rusty, there was mould in there as well, the main bedroom ceiling had been painted over where the roof must off leaked and it stank of mould as well, being someone that suffers with Asthma the spores from the mould did not help that at all, you only had one set of towels for 7 days, there was 5 of us, everything from the restaurants, activities, was so over priced the only thing free was the swimming pool, you could not eat out everyday, we found an Asda cooked inside the lodge, the pots and pans handles were nearly falling off, the gas cooker lit when it wanted to, and after 9 oclock everything shuts down, thats your lot,and for £3,200 we paid was not the lodge we were showen on line they need ripping out and refurbish again was not worth the money we should of went else where do not waste your money here will not be going back.
Good experience, so-so value for money and some corner cutting but a nice time!
Good experience at CenterParcs Elveden Forest. Lodges were adequately maintained and central facilities were absolutely fantastic, especially the pool and spa. What's stopping things from being excellent is perhaps some of the wrong corners cut in the name of venture capital ownership, which is slightly disappointing to see. I get that shareholders need profit, but if you're paying well into four figures for a lodge with 3 bathrooms, offering 1 small bar of soap between isn't the way forward, there are other ways to save money that don't make it look cheap and thrifty to the customers. Other than that, an enjoyable experience.
Terrible Longleat Lodge Experience and Inept Customer Service
We are currently on our holiday at Center Parcs Longleat, and it has been a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience. Our stay at Lodge 286 has been plagued by a series of issues, including a severe moth infestationfollowed by an ant infestation. Would upload photos if I could.
The most shocking part of our experience has been the guest services team. A series of duty managers have been evasive and unhelpful throughout, consistently refusing to commit to any remedies in writing. We have been made to feel as though we are being difficult simply because we declined to move to another lodge that was not a viable solution—it was on the other side of the park and had a non-functioning shower.
Despite our serious concerns about moth eggs potentially accumulating in our clothes, it took them over three days just to provide us with plastic bags. They dismissed our request for on-site laundry facilities and only offered an inappropriate steam cleaning service.
The lack of accountability and the dismissive attitude of the staff has turned our holiday into a stressful and upsetting ordeal. The service we have received is completely unacceptable and a far cry from what you would expect from a holiday provider of this standing. I am sharing this review to warn others of the significant decline in standards and the poor level of care.
Centre Rat Parcs
On arrival a small queue, nothing too bad . Got the keys, eventually found the lodge , 1st impressions it was all clean and nice even if the exterior needed a buff up. Then the rats, didn’t see on inside but the dirty rodent were having a disco on the patio, this issue was never sorted, complained a few times , not sure why they could have done instantly anyway, but it seems they do nothing so the problem will get worse. Essentially it’s a lovely day and you can’t use the patio area, at least you can’t leave the doors open . Didn’t see any in the restaurants so that was a small blessing . Not talking one rat here , talking 10’s qt a time . I get it’s a forest, where rats are supposed to be , but not what I want running round outside , kids not impressed either . Can’t say the site was dirty , they’ve just lost control of the issue . Long email of complaint will be sent to them later .
I would appreciate that Center Parcs…disappointed guest
I would appreciate that Center Parcs Woburn Forest update their web page to clearly show apartments in hotel area some do not offer self catering. We were there a few weeks ago and had booked one when we checked in found there were no cooking facilities in the apartment. When we queried it were told that if no cutlery symbol this means not available for self catering. We were offered a lodge but had £210 to pay. Management were no help would not come and speak to us face to face. We were disappointed with their attitude and would like to warn other guests to be careful when booking these apartments.
Also we were given a free bottle of proseco and tray bake which was to be delivered to our lodge this never arrived. You really need to do better Center Parcs!!
I've now tried twice to get through on…
I've now tried twice to get through on the telephone each time having given up after 15 minutes, of course as soon as I connect there's a message that says that they're experiencing a particularly busy time. So knowing that this busy time is coming up and is so frequent, why don't they hire more staff? We all know the reason for that. So rather than spend money and invest, they obviously care less about customer service.
Having only just returned from the…
Having only just returned from the Longleat parc 11th -14th July 2025, one of the hotest time this summer. Was seriously disappointed that the only areas with air con in use was the shops! Not the resturants ir the sport centre or under the plazza dome. It was unbearable, not because it isn't there, but because they are saving money, this we were told by a staff member. So they entice you into any of the shops to be cooler and spend more money! Having been to this parc many times over the years, pretty much since it opened I think it has changed, and not for the better. We had 3 different villas, one of the more expensive ones with pool table, hot tub etc, a standard villa and an executive one .bed. The executive one had a damp feel and bedding felt cold and damp. The most expensive for 8 had only a 2 slice toaster as opposed to others having 4 slice. The oven, gas, burnt bottom of food and top half raw. Activities expensive. Far away from plazza inspite of saying we had one person with mobility issues. £68 for a mobility scooter, which didn't think to bad for the necessary freedom that provided. If you want to choose your villa in advance thats an extra £40, why? No clean towels, stayed in expensive one in September, fresh towels were delivered then! Only small bars of soap in way of toiletries ( the more expensive villas cost thousands not hundreds) my son who was visiting from Australia paid for the trip for family time and that we had, but at a high cost.
False sense of security
False sense of security — my son’s bike was stolen, and Center Parcs did nothing
We chose Center Parcs for a peaceful, family-focused break, trusting their promise of a safe and secure environment. Instead, our trip turned into a deeply frustrating experience when my son’s bike was stolen — despite being securely chained and parked directly under a CCTV camera, next to the main pool in a designated bike parking area.
Security told us thefts are “very rare,” but that clearly isn’t true — a quick look at online reviews and crime statistics shows this happens far more often than they admit. It’s misleading and irresponsible.
Worse still, no CCTV footage was provided. I strongly suspect the cameras don’t even work — or if they do, they’re not monitored or used effectively. Staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and seemed completely uninterested in resolving the issue or even acknowledging the seriousness of it. We were just left to deal with it alone.
We paid a premium for safety and peace of mind, but instead got negligence and indifference. Families deserve to know the truth — Center Parcs is not as safe as it claims to be. We won’t be returning, and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before bringing valuables — or children — here.
We’re just back from a four night stay…
We’re just back from a four night stay at Whinfell Forest and we all had a great time. There’s so much to do, staff are lovey and the food is great. The cabin was nice and clean, there is a great range of activities for all ages. No complaints from any of us, was 10 out of 10
Always there to help
Went to Center Parcs Sherwood Forest with my whole family (14 of us!). 3rd time visiting. Clearly we love the place. This time however my mobility scooter broke down over a mile from our chalet. Great service to give me a lift back and next morning a return trip. This took all the stress away.
