A Wonderful Experience

Accommodation is great. Various activities like water sports, cycling, aerial adventure are fun and excited.

Staffs are helpful and facilities are in good condition.

Prefect for a family holiday break.

Over charged to cancel.

I was charged a 10% deposit, and had free amendments. I had to cancel, they advise amending and cancelling are different so I had to pay my deposit. They then advised my deposit is in fact 30% of the booking cost - the 20% I didn't pay upfront (aka a deposit!) was just "deferred" to be paid with my balance. This wasn't made clear - a deposit is by it's very nature upfront. It's unclear, unfair, and they don't care at all.

"Good will gestures don't exist here"

Booked sherwood forest for June and it stated if you find your stay cheaper then they will change it for free, have just tried to change the deal over the phone as it would be cheaper to do so with day passes added but apparently the deal no longer exists, no good will gesture even when i explained its for my terminally ill daughter's grandad and uncle so they can spend time on holiday with her, more than likely they will still come but shady move Center parcs shady . Infact Center Parcs should be called Shady Acres and looking at recent reviews I'm not the only person they're coming up short for in recent times. Poor show before even arriving what a great start.

sadly had an incident at our spa suite during a recent spa break in Woburn, have done what everyone should do and contacted center parcs directly twice now and via post stay feedback request and not a single word reply. Not what your expect from this special break package, basically an employee walked in unannounced to our suite to deliver prosecco and cookies for the next guests whilst we were still in residence, wife was getting changed. Not good CP had opportunities and right to reply which you did not take. Spa suite was special and aqua sana wonderful all tainted on day 2.

Beware of the centreparc scam

Beware of the centreparc scam. Family booking at Woburn for June 2025. Took booking and money, then a few weeks later emailed to say maintenance happening and multiple swimming pools are shut. Ask for a refund and Under their terms and conditions you lose 30% of booking (£325). Centreparcs know in advance maintenance times but do not state this until late on when everyone has booked, as they know this would affect people booking if they advertised in advance. Just be aware of being caught out by this scam!!!!

Appalling doesn't cut it!

My letter to Center Parcs Guest Services....
To whom it may concern.
I have been told to email you once I get home with all my concerns and disappointment from my Center Parcs holiday. But as I am so unwell, I figured I'd do it now.
We arrived on Mon 3rd and went swimming before going to our Lodge 525 Birch. It was all so exciting, but that soon changed to disappointment and frustration. I had to call Guest Services within 25 minutes of entering the lodge. This was due to the thermostat in one of the twin rooms not working, and it looking as though no one had cleaned it before our arrival. The high chair was filthy, as were the carpets, the toilet wasn't clean, there was a half eaten child's sweet under the tv, food left in the wardrobe, and dirty cupboards in the kitchen. On later inspection, the cots provided were both broken also. Your guest service team was quick to 'rectify' these issues, but I shouldn't have been expected to go round the lodge with a fine tooth comb to find out what else was wrong.
The following day I was offered an unaccompanied activity as compensation, for which none were appropriate with a 4 year old and an 8 month old. We went for bowling though, but my 4 year old very quickly lost interest.
I then went back to guest services to explain there were still dirty things in the lodge, and that the activity wasn't suitable. They again wanted the cleaners to come round, and try to rectify it. These issues were hairs around the bath, cobwebs in the bathroom, and dirty utensils in the kitchen. I accepted the cleaner to come out, as I was then offered £20 voucher for the Village. I was called after the cleaner had left, and was asked if I was happy. I explained no as none of the issues had been sorted, but the person on the end of the phone made that out to be my fault as I was here and should have checked what she was doing. I am on holiday with my children, and don't expect to have to make sure something is being done that should have been done without 3 further visits!
Tuesday night we ended up having to call Guest Services for more bed linen as my daughter and I have been very poorly with vomiting and diarrhea. They were very quick to provide us with new linen which was appreciated. I then got a phone call in the morning from the First Aid Centre just following up on how we are. I said how bad we are, and I got offered more toilet tissue, and I asked for more soap. My husband went to the shop as we felt we needed to deep clean the areas we were poorly in. He purchased bleach and kitchen roll. There was no antibacterial spray or wipes anyway, and there was no hand-wash (antibacterial or otherwise) in the shop. This is extermemely disappointing as it has made us feel dirty and unable to clean correctly what should have been done in the first place.
I have no doubt that we are poorly due to the standards of cleaning here. We saved for a long time and used our Christmas money to buy this holiday. We were very excited, and to be honest, all I want to do is go home (which I would do if I could last the car journey).
Woburn Center Parcs has been very disappointing, and I would like some/most of my money refunded please. I was told to send this when I got home, but seeing as I can't currently get off the sofa, I thought I'd send it now.
I await your response.

Food in the wardrobe in the main bedroom.
Food under the TV in the living room.
Dirty cupboards in the kitchen.
Dirty cups in the kitchen.
Hairs and dirt on the bath, cobwebs, mould at bottom of the bath in the main bathroom.
Filthy cleaning cupboard.
Dirty floors in the bedrooms and main area.
Dirty highchair.
2 x broken toilet seats.
2 x broken cots.
Non functioning thermostat in the bedroom

Areas of the swimming pool closed to…

Areas of the swimming pool closed to maintenance during our stay. Asked if we could return for a day visit to use the closed facilities in the future due to the inconvenience which was declined. Only option offered was to book elsewhere and pay the difference (we booked a year in advance and now 2-3 months out, prices have dramatically increased). Very disappointing lack of customer service.

Disappointing stay at Sherwood Forest Center Parcs

Recently stayed in Maple lodges for a midweek break.
It was not as relaxing as I thought it would be. There were tractors and works going on around us making lots of noise.
I went to the pancake house and ordered a gluten free Black Forest only to be told “we don’t do that gluten free we only have 2 options now because of a menu change”.
I said it is not an allergy all I need is the waffle to be gluten free everything else is fine.
Well the novelty was gone when they put a plate of just a gluten free waffle in front of me. When asking the lady if I had any sides?
Her reply was “I don’t know I’m new, I don’t know anything”
She came back with 3 small pots, 1 icecream, 1 cream and 1 cherry compote. Missing the chocolate flake and toppings.

When the guy who first served us returned I mention there were toppings missing his reply was:
“Oh I thought with you asking for gluten free that you wouldn’t want that mixing with the waffle”
I reminded him of what I originally said but left just disappointed. The customer service was shocking waiting 20mins for drinks as well.
I felt there could have been better management on the rapids. My daughters said they were getting kicked in the face and at one point a grown adult male landed on top of my daughter nearly drowning her. No patience or consideration for others which is probably down to the people not the staff. Just very overcrowded.
Honestly was enough to put me off ever going again!

Poor pre arrival service

Poor pre arrival service. It’s supposed to be a family friendly and easy resort but I have spent hours and hours pre arrival just trying to get basic bits of admin sorted. Disappointing start to our trip.

Please bring back your amazing Customer Service that you used to have!

We go to Center Parcs every Christmas and very often once through the summer as well and on the whole have always been happy. We’ve had the odd issues but when they’ve cropped up Customer Services have been amazing.
That is until now! Christmas 2024 we turned up very excited for our annual break. To find out we had the neighbours from hell! Every night banging and shouting until 11pm and beyond. We lived with it, it’s there holiday as well. But Christmas Day night we went to walk back to our lodge and had to pass their lodge to have to walk through a fog of cannabis with our children. They were then up shouting and screaming until 1/2am. That’s beyond our measure of putting up with it so Boxing Day morning went to Guest Services. I did explain that I knew it wasn’t actually their fault but at this point they’d ruined our Christmas that we’d paid a fortune for and I wanted something done. The lady in Guest Services assured me something would be done and I would get a phone call later that day. That phone call never came and Boxing Day night was just as bad.
Got home and emailed to complain as by now I’m not just cross about the party lodge next door but was furious that Guest Services had just ignored me when they’d promised it would be dealt with! Eventually got a reply quoting terms and conditions that cannabis isn’t allowed but basically being told they can’t really control what happens and need to be told about it (I did!) and basically it’s tough.
You pay too much money for this sort of thing to happen and also for this sort of customer service. Center Parcs in the past your Customer Service has been exceptional, we’ve been loyal customers since 2015 but I’m not sure what has happened internally as Customer Service has gone downhill beyond belief.

Neelah the call centre star

This is a review for an experience with the Centerparcs call centre in Rotterdam. We had booked a holiday with Centerparcs yesterday but due to a failure of their website the booking wasn't confirmed even though the payment had been taken. I called just now to query and rectify this mistake. The call was answered by Neelah (not sure how to spell the name correctly, sorry) and she was the most patient person I have ever come across when calling a call centre! Even though the whole procedure was very difficult and complicated for her and for me, as I was calling on someone else's behalf and did not have all the details at hand, and even though the call centre was extremely busy, she remained patient and professional. So I would like to commend her for her patience and say a big thank you via this review.

Overpriced and tatty

After the below review a patronizing email sent back regarding a gift when I rebook. Disgraceful customer service, almost a month to reply and fobbed off. I have been going for 30 years and not even a courtesy call or offer of some money back.

have just returned from 4 days at Elevden and for the price paid I am bitterly disappointed with how run down the resort has become.

We usually come once a year and actually came last January and it just seems very tatty for the money paid.

The main sports plaza has buckets everywhere with water dripping, holes in the ceiling, I even saw a broken tile that had glue just tipped on it rather than just replacing. The lodge we stayed in (326 pine) has bits of wallpaper ripped off and had just been coloured in with a pen, there was also bits of silicone hanging off in the second shower and bits of red stuff in between the tiles which I had no idea what they were. They also had Ill fitting cupboards and the large hob ring did not ignite.

The food quality in the restaurant has gone down its very expensive and the quality of the food is quite basic. We tried to eat in Bella Italia and despite the opening times being clearly displayed were told the chefs were not back until 4pm, maybe this should be displayed somewhere or make it clear the restaurant closes for an hour.

My son was also looking forward to having one last go on the pirate ship on Friday and was extremely disappointed and upset that it was closed. The water temperature in the outside rapids was also hit and miss being cold. We also noticed the cyclone slide has what appears to be algae on the bottom of the areas that you get in and out and the changing rooms quite dirty (I appreciate there were cleaners around) but on Friday one changing room was full of sand and also had the hassle on more than one occasion had to move all our stuff as the locks did not work.

Overall we spent a hell of a lot of money for 4 days over £2500. The activities are expensive so we expected the areas to be well kept and the activities well run. Santa was rushed and to be honest £48 for two children, in and out in 5 mins and not very engaging.

I have actually been a regular visitor to Center Parcs since I was a child and a tradition I have been keen to upkeep with my children but after this and the cost of the holiday, activities, food and drink etc I really think next year I will reconsider. I have attached some pictures of some of the areas.

Charged twice on sports bar app!!!

Double charged on app in sports bar. Was assured on the day it would be sorted but head office are dragging their heels saying they have no record despite us showing evidence we’ve been charged twice. AVOID - do not use app in the sports bar.

Woburn Santa experience terrible and not child friendly

We visited Santa at his Woburn village. While we were there our 3 year old needed the toilet. We asked to use a toilet and the staff declined telling us we needed to go back to the village or nearest restaurant. I explained that our daughter wouldn’t make it that far before an accident. They refused again. Our daughter then had an accident - she was distraught. I asked if I could now change her somewhere and the staff said no. I would have to walk back to the lodge. It was 2 degrees and my daughter was wet through.
Appalling treatment. Appalling facilities for children at a ‘child centered’ activity (which we paid for).

Mixed feelings

We recently had a long weekend at Longleat. Mixed feelings about our experience. We were a large party; we dined at the restaurant; the ambient volume prevented easy conversation with each other. My Daughter asked for a bottle of Merlot, then Malbec, then Shiraz, all of which they’d run out of, so she had to settle for whatever they could muster, which was more expensive. When the shift Manager passed by, he asked if everything was OK. When my Daughter stated she’d tried to order three different bottles of wine all of which were out of stock, the Manager became defensive, pointed to our glasses and commented, “Thats red wine isn’t it?”, then left. Then, my wife had paid a £70 deposit for the meal. By pure coincidence, two of our party opted to pay for their own meals, which came to £70. The restaurant only deducted one lot of £70, forgetting to deduct the £70 deposit. They rectified this error the next day, but only after some lengthy discussions. On the plus side, I was walking back from the car park to our chalet which was in Firs area (a long way from the main area) and Lesley, a member of the site security team, stopped her vehicle and vey kindly gave me a lift back (thank you Lesley 😘). Hmmm……it’s not as if it’s cheap to stay here.
