Always exceptional service from Tara
This is the third trip we've booked with Rhino Africa / Icon Expeditions which Tara has managed, and as always it was flawless! Tara responds quickly, organises all the tricky details such as bush flights, is really flexible, and knows fantastic places to recommend. Previously we've stayed in several places in South Africa for Cape Town, Kalahari and Sabi sands safaris, and we've really appreciated the attention to detail and the quality of the accommodation and making sure all flights, transfers etc flowed perfectly. This time it was Kenya for the great migration and our expectations were high, but still exceeded - it was Incredible and we're already thinking about our next trip. As well as adding value in terms of planning and organizing, we have found that we get a better price than booking all the individual parts by ourselves, which we really appreciate. We've also found really nice personal touches each trip which I'm sure Tara had a hand in, such as birthday treats and messages in our hotel - really thoughtful. I wouldn't book an African trip with anyone else.

Professionals in luxury holidays
Thanks to our Rhino agent Daniela, my husband and I had a most amazing holiday in Africa. After listening to my requests, she gave us great advice and promptly created an itinerary tailored to our budget. We had a comfortable and easy start from Cape Town where we could get over our jet lag and recover from our long journey. Followed by Kruger National Park where we stayed at Chitwa Chitwa Lodge. Everything was just way beyond our expectations. Room, facilities, service and meals were exceptional! The last 2 nights of our trip were spent at Victoria Falls. The staff at the River Lodge were so friendly and warm; the room was so spacious and beautiful. But we had to call for a buggy to get to and from our room, due to the danger of elephants that roam into the hotel grounds. There was only one buggy to service the 8 rooms, but what an experience!
For anyone looking for a luxurious holiday in Africa, I highly recommend Rhino Africa. Hotels, tours and transfers/transportation were so well-arranged. Rhino has made our trip truly an experience of a lifetime.

Daniela was extremely responsive in the planning stages. She pretty much offered all we requested. Our safari experience was stellar!
Through no fault of Daniela's, we had a little glitch in Victoria Falls,(2nd stop), having booked a private tour of the Falls & getting put into a group. It seems that Wild Horizons is the primary tour group in Zimbabwe, which saddens me, as the way this was handled was unprofessional. In addition, the driver who met us at the airport created discomfort, pushing a helicopter tour when we inquired about other things to do with some time we had.
Our last stop, back in Cape Town was also superb, with our guide Rico feeling like family.

Trip of a Lifetime with unforgettable memories
Working with Tara was an absolute pleasure. Every part of our trip was flawlessly planned and truly exceeded our expectations—it was everything we asked for and so much more. From the moment we landed in Nairobi, we were met by a helpful representative who assisted us with our luggage and smoothly guided us through customs.
Even when one of our bags didn’t arrive with us from the U.S., the team immediately stepped in to help us file a claim. Once the bag was located, they ensured it was delivered to us all the way in Samburu—talk about five-star service!
Our journey took us from unforgettable overnight stays to thrilling bush plane rides, and breathtaking safari experiences in Amboseli, Samburu, and the Maasai Mara. We wrapped up our adventure with a magical stay at Giraffe Manor.

Great trip planning and guidance!
We received great planning and trip guidance support from Rhino Africa! It was our second trip with them (first time in South Africa and this time in Namibia) and everything went as planned. The descriptions regarding how to get from one lodge / camp to the next were simple and easy and everyone was ready for us when we got there. All of the places we stayed were nice, clean and the food for both breakfast and dinner were excellent! We had a great trip!

Kristy at Rhino took great care of us. All the greeters were there to meet us and deliver us to our various locations and/or airports. Camissa House in Capetown was beautiful. Our 3 safari camps-Londolozi, Old Drift Lodge and Shinde were fantastic and we had lovely jeep mates. Our drivers/trackers were knowledgeable and successful in finding many animals to observe. Camp staff/tours guides from laundry service people, servers, cooks, managers were excellent-courteous, friendly and sincere. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this company.

Our group of 10 friends decided we wanted to go on Safari for game drives in Africa. We researched different companies and decide to utilize icon expeditions. Tara, the travel consultant, put together a package deal for us that included luxurious lodging, and the game reserve that has been around for almost 100 years. Rhino Africa is a superb choice to book your travel.
I would 100% recommend this company to put together a fantastic African adventure for you. We wanted to see South Africa; our main interest was a safari.
Tara Beckett at Rhino Africa put together a perfect balance of city and scenic adventures, and also wilderness for us.
When traveling from a distant country, in our case central United States, you need your tours when you arrive to allow your body to adjust from the jet lag and new time zone (+7 hours). Tara had us start out in Cape Town. We arrived late in the day and the following morning had a half-day tour. This was perfect.
You could also start in Zimbabwe and see Victoria Falls; this would also allow your body to adjust to the time and the tour schedule is flexible.
Save going to the safari after you have adjusted a couple of days. You get up early and have a fantastic day, so you want to feel alert and rested.
My wife, Tracy is a self-proclaimed city-girl. She was happy to go on this trip, but it wouldn't be her first choice for destinations. This trip changed that opinion, and she absolutely loved it. We both said we originally thought this would be a "one and done" trip that we would not repeat. We both had such a good time that we are certainly planning on returning in a few years.
All of the trip was very good, however, the peak highlight was the experience at Londolozi, both the game drives and also the people there. The people really make the experience wonderful.
I highly recommend using Tara as your guide, it all went smoothly and she responds quickly and is helpful if you have questions or need help while you are traveling. We will use Rhino Africa again.

Fantastic trip, perfectly arranged and coordinated …
We so appreciate all of Carl’s efforts to create and coordinate an amazing trip for us. We started planning over a year ahead and planned a complex trip covering many countries and experiences. All of the places we stayed from city hotels to safari lodges to lodge for gorilla trekking in Rwanda, were beautiful with incredibly giving and attentive staff. All of our guides and drivers were similarly professional and kind and a joy to spend time with. We also had a complex series of internal flights and transfers, many across borders, all of which were quite smooth and seamless for us but we know required a great deal of coordination from Carl. In the planning as well as while on our trip, Carl was very responsive, helping us transfer two different packages to our last destination in Johannesburg so we didn’t need to carry them into intermediate safari destinations. It was an amazing trip and I would not hesitate to recommend Rhino Africa /Out to Africa and Carl Preller to our friends.

Family Trip of a Lifetime
My family and I went on a 3 week once in a lifetime vacation to Africa. After a lot of research, I went with Rhino Africa and Candice was awesome. I explained what I wanted to do and she put together an amazing trip that met our budget, but did not compromise the experience. We started our journey from Cape Town, South Africa and made our way via air to Chitwa Chitwa outside of Krueger National Park and then on to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. What a fantastic and magical place Chitwa Chitwa was...such beautiful accommodations and the most welcoming staff; Something we would not have been able to do without the help of Candice and Rhino Africa. We spent 4 wonderful days going on safari, savoring the most delicious food, and meeting some wonderful people, both staff and other guests. We had our own designated guide and ranger and the feeling was as if we were all a big family experiencing the wonders of nature. After Chitwa, We departed and flew to Zimbabwe and Candice arranged for us to stay a in the actual National Park at the Victoria Falls River Lodge. Again, an experience like none other. Three wonderful days experiencing more safari on land and water. Again, staff was most welcoming, food was delicious, and the experiences like none other.
The people at both facilities were so friendly, when time allows, my husband and I want to go back. When we do, I'll be certain to reach out to Candice. I would recommend her to anyone. My children had the time of their life and even though we did miss 2 weeks of school, nothing could replace the experiences they had that they will carry with them the rest of their lives.

We used Rhino Africa for two separate trips spanning 15 years and the experiences were absolutely top class. Candice curated the perfect itinerary for our April 2024 trip to Cape Town and Sabi Sands Reserve which included all logistical arrangements including intra-South Africa transfers, the perfect bush lodge and just the right level of time for each of the planned activities. Seamless and comfortable vacation!
It's the second time we travelled with Rhino Africa and as last time everything was close to perfect.
The accommodations were all very comfortable (up to luxurious!), the route-planning easy to follow, everything was well prepared (traveling guidelines, voucher etc.) and all that for a fair price. With a shoutout to Anja Kemp (again! :) )!
